What’s Up Wednesday 24

What I’m Reading

Nothing at this very moment, but in the last couple weeks, I’ve read DREAM BOY by Mary Crockett and Madelyn Rosenberg, FAR FROM YOU by Tess Sharpe, THE FIRE WISH by Amber Lough, FALLING INTO PLACE by Amy Zhang, MIDNIGHT THIEF by Livia Blackburne, and BETWEEN by Megan Whitmer. My creative well has been filled :)

What I’m Writing

Also nothing at the moment although I’m DYING to properly outline my fantasy WIP. I’ve been swamped with working on promotional things for GATES OF THREAD...

Book News 2!

More YAY news! Gates of Thread and Stone sold World French rights to Ada.

That’s right, should you live in (or visit) Canada or France or any other French speaking country, you will be able to walk into a bookstore and purchase my book in French (should that particular book store carry my book). More details on French pub date when it’s available!

Here, have some gifs.

Even the Dark One approves.

God, I love Emma Stone.

I would try to say something clever in French, but all I know is “Bonjour” and...

What’s Up Wednesday 23

What I’m Reading

Not as much as I’d like. I’ve been feeling kind of unmotivated in general, which is frustrating. But I still need to finish STOLEN SONGBIRD (not for lack of interest–this book is PHENOMENAL) and I plan to start REBEL by Amy Tintera because I LOVED REBOOT.

What I’m Writing

Still world building that fantasy, and trying to formulate my plot. I know who my antagonist is, but not quite sure yet how things work out! I hate that not-knowing feeling.

What Inspires Me Right Now

What’s Up Wednesday 22

What I’m Reading

I just started STOLEN SONGBIRD by Danielle Jensen. I’ve heard so many good things about this book. Trolls, a witch’s curse, a fascinating romance that is far from love–or even lust–at first sight. I’m intrigued!

What I’m Writing

I’m world building + plotting a new fantasy. I’m recycling some of the mythology from a shelved project so it’s super exciting to breathe new life into these ideas.

What Else I’ve Been Up To

My cover reveal for GATES OF THREAD AND STONE is happening TOMORR...

Chicago North Spring Fling ’14

I attended my first writers conference this past weekend. Chicago North Spring Fling was so much more fun than I expected. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but everyone was super nice and eager to talk about books or anything at all, and it was as great a first experience as anyone could have, I think.

I finally got to meet my agent Suzie Townsend after 2.5 years! And my CP Mindee Arnett after 3 years! I also met the insanely entertaining Erica O’Rourke, Stacey Kade, and Cat York.

Mindee,...

Author blurbs! Yay!

So I have five author blurbs for GATES OF THREAD AND STONE, from authors I respect tremendously.

“GATES OF THREAD AND STONE is a fast-paced, heart-wrenching whirl of a story full of magic, immortals, and a romance that will leave readers gasping for more. I adored the tough, scrappy narrator and fell in love with the boy chasing after her heart. Lori M. Lee introduces us to a fantasy world unlike any other and gives us the first taste of an epic love story in the making. I can’t wait for more!...

Book News!

I’m super excited to be able to share the news that Gates of Thread and Stone sold in Germany! Specifically, it sold to Blanvalet, a division of Random House Germany, which is intensely cool and not just because they apparently publish the German version of A Game of Thrones WHUT?

My book will be in German. Sold in Germany. Wow o_o *runs in circles*

In other news, my cover for the US version is nearly complete, and it’s glowy and gorgeous and I can’t wait to share it! Mwuahaha ♥ (I will warn yo...
