They’ll be there,
when we emerge from
these caves,
those distant peaks,
those winding rivers singing
songs over the rocks
they smooth.
It’ll be there,
that quiet sea desperate
to maintain this calm,
all those swimming below,
thankful the vibrations
have stopped.
They’ll be there,
when this great pause
is lifted,
and with them will be
choice.
We can harm them again,
in the fury of our
reclaimed motion,
or we can save them,
and take from this
a lesson in tenderness
and care.
What we need
and nothing more,
a refusal to waste,
an understanding that we
share this planet
with so many
others.

As we sit and watch weddings cancel like dominoes, it’s scary...
As we sit and watch weddings cancel like dominoes, it’s scary times trying to figure out how to pay bills. Trying to figure out how weddings will work from now until there is a vaccine or treatment that allows them to safely happen. Perhaps we will be photographing far more adventure elopements, just two people standing on some mountainside or ocean, some forest or glen. Perhaps this, perhaps something else. Whatever comes, we will do it with our whole heart, and still give images to always treasure, but it’s hard not to wonder what that will look like. Our calendars are open for 2021 and 2022, and we still want to hear from all of you. We cannot wait to start shooting again. In the meantime, if you want to help support us, the merch shop is still open for you to get some rad goodies, or order a custom poem written just for you. As always, we love you all.

One into ten, ten into
half a hundred,
and on beyond
the fingers and toes
of all those we know
to count them.
This day is all days,
this moment
frozen with everything
else that’s frozen,
a planet on pause.
Let’s call this
hibernation,
and set our dreams
to the springtime,
to the summer of
wildflowers
and blackberries
on the bush.
We’ll wake starving
for sunlight,
for legs that remember
running,
for arms that can hold,
for each other.
