tax the nicotine and weed,
tax the coal tax the cars
tax the carbon we spew
into the sky. Tax the cows
tax the meat tax the
over-processed and unhealthy.
Tax the boats tax the planes tax
the garbage we throw away,
tax the mountains of waste,
tax the plastics.
Tax it, then take every single
dollar, and throw it at forests,
at clean water, at giving back
habitat we have stolen. Give
it to planting, to growing,
to stopping this slide into
an extinction we caused.
