'Metal Gear Solid 5' to be funny again after the ultra-grim 'Ground Zeroes,' Kojima says
If you were concerned after playing the bleak, grizzled Ground Zeroes prequel that Metal Gear had lost all its quirky weirdness, you had good reason. Our writer Filipe Salgado did an admirable job broaching the issue in his review.
But don’t be. According to a recent interview with creator Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid 5 proper will reintroduce those merrymaking gags and winks to the camera we’re used to:
The topic is really dark. So, at first I tried not to put too many humorous story elements or gimmicks in the game. But now that it's an open world game and the player spends a long time playing, it might get too heavy…. I didn't want that to happen so I will try to add more humorous elements and gimmicks.
This is great news for those of us who love the series for its C-grade plot, which involved ridiculous stunts such as hiding in plain sight under a cardboard box, and distracting guards with porno magazines. You know, because Metal Gear without humor is like an expensive steak without seasoning.

Terry Cavanagh’s new mobile game will obliterate you in 5 seconds or your money back
Well, at least it won’t cost you anything, because Super Graviton for iOS and Android is completely free. I’m sure that is all you need to hear before grabbing your phone and plucking the game, but allow me to briefly inform you about what you’re getting into while you’re anxiously waiting for it to download.
Super Graviton was originally a mini-game found at the end off Terry’s terse gravity-hopping game VVVVVV, which weak and irresolute players like myself never had the luxury of being humiliated at. But now we can! And this one is a perfect companion piece to Super Hexagon, with quick, compulsive leapfrogging between spinning squares of death.

Because Vice is Vice, they put together a Candy Crush Saga addiction fashion shoot
These photos of people decked out in hip urban outfits inspired by the runaway hit mobile game Candy Crush Saga are absolutely absurd—especially this one framed by candy cane stripes and gumdrops. Holly Falconer at Vice put together this absolutely fabulous retro photo shoot, because, well, Vice. They also spoke with an addition counselor about people who call him because they’re addicted to King’s compulsive hard candy-matching game. But the important thing here is the awesome candy-themed style guide, presented in that inimitable way that only that site can nail.

No Man's Sky's virtual world is so big that you may never meet another player
You’ve probably heard the yada-yada about how No Man’s Sky uses procedural generation to create big boundless worlds and thought, hey, that’s pretty cool. But it’s even bigger than you can imagine. Listening to Sean Murray of Hello Games speak, it just may be as expansive as the physical universe itself.
So how big is it? Well, as you may know, all players play in the same connected virtual world. “But we’re the opposite of an MMO,” says Murray, explaining how the space is so expansive that you’re extremely unlikely to ever encounter another player in it. “We’re dealing with planet-sized planets. Even if a million of us played on one planet, we’d still be really far apart,” he explains. When you think about this on the scale of the universe that Hello Games is creating, you start to feel pretty small.
Below's a mere taste of the depths:
