The month that was: June 2019
What happened:
Got my hair done, tried to sort my face out (another dermatologist visit. The verdict? Still seborrheic dermatitis; still going to have to learn to manage it), caught up with various friends, and spent 24 hours* in Dublin — which included seeing Fleetwood Mac, supported by The Pretenders, yummy food, a visit to the Book of Kells and Old Library, plus a guided tour of The Little Museum of Dublin (see blog post to find out more).

24 hours in Dublin, Ireland
We headed to Dublin last month, purely to go to the Fleetwood Mac concert, but whilst we were in Ireland's capital, here's what else we got up to in the 24 hours* we were in town.

The month that was: April and May 2019
What happened:
In April my family visited which meant a trip to the Science Museum and a mooch around Hyde Park, we headed to Kent for Easter, and had a week off work for a London staycation which also included birthday celebrations. Staycation/birthday activities included: Queens for a game of bowling and ice skating, watching Avengers: Endgame (see below), and Waitress on the West End (good fun and super pleased to see Katharine McPhee as Jenna as we loved her in Smash).

Iceland: Where to eat in Reykjavik
Our trip to Reykjavik was full of delicious meals. This is usually the hope wherever we are, at home or away, but on holiday we want to leave a restaurant with happy tummies - this was especially the case in Reykjavik, a city everyone warned us was super expensive when it came to eating out.

Iceland: Exploring the south coast
One thing I really wanted to do when visiting Iceland was visit a glacier. Jökulsárlón caught my attention, even though it’s located 400km from Reykjavik, but after reading Gray Line’s excellent reviews for their south coast and Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon day tour, these convinced me to book - despite a 14-hour day trip, minimum (our trip took 15.5 hours).

Iceland: The Blue Lagoon and lunch at Lava
The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland's most well-known "must-dos" and one that a lot of people include on their bucket lists. A geothermal spa which is set in a volcanic black lava field about a 15-minute drive from Keflavik airport and 45 minutes from central Reykjavik, it's also one of Iceland's pricier attractions.

Iceland: The Northern lights
One of the top reasons we wanted to go to Iceland was to try and see the Northern lights, especially after reading that solar activity, which is what causes them, will lessen after March 2019 and will stay that way until late 2021 (solar activity runs in a 11-year cycle). What can I say, we lucked out.

The month that was: March 2019
What happened:
The first week of March was all about exploring Iceland - blogs are up already about Reykjavik and exploring the Golden Circle - and we had a fabulous time. We even saw the Northern lights on our first attempt, which was fantastic!

Iceland: A city break in Reykjavik
Reykjavik is Iceland’s cool capital and, if you’re planning a visit to Iceland, you'll more than likely end up there at some point. We based our entire trip in the capital, choosing to take day tours to explore further afield. But, we did make sure we spent time exploring the city.

Iceland: A trip around the Golden Circle
One of the places I knew I had to visit when heading to Iceland was the Golden Circle. I say one of the places, the Golden Circle is actually a route near Reykjavik where there are many different natural sights to pull off the road and explore.
