A week in New York City

So, you're thinking of going to New York City. The Big Apple. The city that never sleeps. Amazing! (Can I go instead?) You might be wondering how long to go for or, indeed, when to go. What to do in New York at Christmastime

December is a magical time to visit New York City, and there are things happening in the Big Apple that only happen between Thanksgiving and the New Year, so you want to make sure you tick off these Christmas must-dos. (This was based on my trip in December 2019, before COVID-19 struck.)

Coronavirus diary: Weeks 28 and 29

Monday 21 September

After not doing one of these since week 12, here I am, still working from home... Today was my first day back at work after ten days off, which included a week in Portugal. Portugal!! We went against FCO guidance - only go if it's essential - but it was worth it.

Five fun things to do in New York City

1. Embrace your inner child at the Color Factory

The month that was: June and July 2020

What happened:
The bike saga continued. Second order: bike never existed. Third order: cancelled. But I made a fourth order alongside the third - hedging my bets - and I finally picked up a bike towards the end of June. Happy days! We've been on a ride along the river to Barnes Bridge, pausing by the duck pond to have a picnic, and a ride along the river to Battersea Park.

New York City: Central Park

If you're heading to New York City for the first time and questioning whether you need to spend a lot of time visiting Central Park, you do. Central Park is more than just a mere park - it's the beating heart of NYC (and a place I will forever hold dear in my heart as I got engaged there!).

The month that was: April and May 2020

What happened:
Crikey - two full months spent in lockdown (have documented my twelve weeks in lockdown (so far) in my coronavirus "diaries" here). Generally, these past two months have been spent working from home, watching lots of telly, reading, doing virtual quizzes, and cooking/eating yummy food. LOTS of yummy food.
