Aurora Awards Finalist (Or: In Which Losing is Still Winning)
So back in June, just as CBC noted, I was a finalist for the Aurora Awards, Canada’s foremost award for outstanding success in science fiction and fantasy! I was nominated for best YA.

So In Other News…Here’s What Monsta X Taught Me
As I steadily work at my creative projects, I saw what was happening on twitter to one of my fave K-POP groups, Monsta X, and decided to write a piece about what I think. It’s here on Conversations Canada!
(Pic above is Monsta X guest starring on We Bare Bears. I still can’t believe)

A Quick Message to My Readers!
Over the past little while, I’ve been able to read so many wonderful messages and emails from fans of the Effigies Series, and I’ve got to say….
Thank you!
I’ve heard so many different stories from different people of different walks of life who have all found something to relate to in The Effigies, whether it’s the characters, the plots, the themes, the fantasy. There’s something for everyone. Sometimes when you’re a writer, you forget the power and potential of your own words. I’ve been s...

CBC Has Me As a Black Writer to Watch!
So proud to be included on @cbcbooks's Black History Month list! https://t.co/w5NdYGDkgb
— Sarah Raughley (@s_raughley) February 7, 2019
And I’m on the list with so many great writers.
Honestly, I’m so grateful to CBC for giving me all these opportunities to get my work out there. It’s hard for black authors sometimes to promote, to get our books read, to get out there, so to be on a list like this makes me so f-ing happy. Y’all don’t even know!

NEW BOOK DEAL!
Happy New Year, and I’ve got an announcement!
I’VE GOT A NEW SERIES COMING OUT!!
Introducing: THE BONES OF RUIN
[image error]
A good old action adventure historical fantasy in apocalyptic end times! I had so much fun researching Victorian history, particularly looking at the oft-overlooked multiculturalism in Victorian England. I am so excited to share Iris’s story with all of you!
For now you can add THE BONES OF RUIN on Goodreads!

So I was on Radio and It’s Finally Out
Wanna here my voice on radio?
Come on in and don’t be shy! CBC Radio has me talking about The Effigies Series, superheroes, girl power, and what strength really means.
I was actually in Ottawa at the time so I got a lift over to their station. It was a pretty cool experience, they literally had me in this little cubicle with recording devices. I had no idea what I was doing, but it was easier than I originally expected! It’s great to see how these things come together behind the scenes.
