I’m a science fiction/fantasy writer who lives in Leeds, United Kingdom. I’m an avid reader, of indie and traditionally published books. Most of my inspiration comes from the neurological disorder/condition Asperger Syndrome, which I am diagnosed with, and characters I create also have traits of this condition. It’s inevitable, I suppose.

I’ve been writing since 2009/2010, when I wanted to explore an idea about aliens who thought and interacted differently on a sandy planet. Since then I’ve written and self-published science fantasy and epic fantasy novels 2012-2015, which I consider to be the beginning of my writing career.

Recently I’ve been reading and researching science fantasy, in particular space opera

The main character Marcellus has these anxieties and is born into the world fully grown, not having had time to adapt and learn the way everybody else has. The Mantle that attaches itself to him is a symbol of his differences and his struggle. In this way his situation is inspired by my experiences with Asperger Syndrome.

Despite the fear of change in circumstances, Origins is more about hope gained through alliance; of having meaningful friendships and relationships that can held defend against the barbaric warring forces perceived by an individual who considers himself still new to the world.

Hope this has helped answer.(less)

Other times I find it difficult to finish stories I’ve started, and decide that careful planning of characters, scenes, or settings can really put things into perspective. The planning doesn’t even have to be complex; you can work with simple descriptions! Planning can, and often does, give me great incentive to write something new.(less)

Astrological influences on the occurrence of mental disorders: Astrology of childhood and karmic programs by Sanja Milic – 4/5 Stars

Astrological influences on the occurrence of mental disorders Astrology of childhood and karmic programs by Sanja Milic

This book was a fascinating insight into past and present astrology through the symbolism of the planets and how they relate to such things as karma, forgiveness, and valuing what we have instead of seeking it elsewhere. Not everything may relate to you, but it gives a framework through which you can take your own journey towards healing, and I liked this.

My only criticism was that some of the Read more of this blog post »

The Dark Secrets of Gerra by Michael Cole
"Non stop action

A deep space adventure. Great set up and an outstanding concept. It starts hot and the action ramps up unrelenting until the end. It is a work of fiction, so your reality chip has to be disengaged, but allowing for that, a good engagin" Read more of this review »

Frank Herbert
“Governments, if they endure, always tend increasingly toward aristocratic forms. No government in history has been known to evade this pattern. And as the aristocracy develops, government tends more and more to act exclusively in the interests of the ruling class - whether that class be hereditary royalty, oligarchs of financial empires, or entrenched bureaucracy.

Frank Herbert, Children of Dune

Frank Herbert
“In all major socializing forces you will find an underlying movement to gain and maintain power through the use of words. From witch doctor to priest to bureaucrat it is all the same. A governed populace must be conditioned to accept power-words as actual things to confuse the symbolized system with the tangible universe. In the maintenance of such a power structure, certain symbols are kept out of the reach of common understanding—symbols such as those dealing with economic manipulation or those which define the local interpretation of sanity. Symbol-secrecy of this form leads to the development of fragmented sub-languages, each being a signal that its users are accumulating some form of power. With this insight into a power process, our Imperial Security Force must be ever alert to the formation of sub-languages.”
Frank Herbert, Children of Dune
