I feel about 600 … Oh – I am!

http://redalmados.wordpress.com/ – subtitled ‘education, disability, psychology, guidance, trivia and more’. Crikey!

Another Spanish site to celebrate. I have a few; and I’ve set Google to translate them automatically. The Spanish are great bloggers (as you will see, eventually, when I rotate my blogroll – but not yet). Although I don’t know what Redalmados means, or if it’s the blogger’s name, I shall be finding out some time today.

For I have pulled out of The Edit, having to acknowledge that...

The writer

I sit here looking inwardly at them all as they run around inside my head, behaving rather badly if truth be known … I don’t seem to have disciplined them very well over all these years: had I done so, they’d respond much more quickly to my summons. I’ve made a rod for my own back, as the saying goes: having allowed them to get away with just about anything, I’m now paying the price.

Little buggers, words …!

Eventually they stop mucking about and come to a sort of attention, lined up haphazardl...

Somewhat under the pump

Still at it: likely to be so for a good long while. That’ll teach me to be so damned superior about my own skills (we can only hope!).

Review of all reviews

WhisperingGums

My publishers had sent a copy of ATLMDto this literary woman quite a long time back, and probably everyone had forgotten except her, as it made its way slowly to the top of her pile of books for review.

I don’t want to cut and paste it in here, as that would be doing her blogsite an injustice. Click on the reduced-size image of her header to see it in its original glory, and I hope VERY MUCH that it won’t act as a spoiler to prevent your reading the book for yourselves.

There are several of you...

Three-named wonders

While waiting for the Masters candidate to indicate he’s fine with all the reformatting, I’ve had some time in which to ruminate. My ruminations have led me to a range of conclusions – at which, of course!, you will gasp and throw your hands up. Not.

Up to you as to which is whom [grin]

Up to you as to which is whom …

As a blogger, one writes things that one might not actually say to one’s friends, and this is mostly done under the protection of anonymity. However! – what about the M.R.s of the blogosphere? … those who make no eff...

This is NOT the weather!

thesis editingfor thesis editing.

:-(

Bloody Sydney humidity.

Silence (almost!) from me is due to this more than somewhat cerebral occupation; this-arvo has been spent – as will this-evening be – re-formatting. Tomorrow I get stuck in to the actual editing. I have all the ceiling fans in the place going. Lui is grumpy. I’m grumpy. Thank yer lucky stars you don’t have to look at me on some kind of two-way vision thinggy.

Well, that’s it, team: just letting you know.

Oh, and P.S.: my hair isn’t getting much longe...

Cee’s Fun Foto challenge

Yes yes, I know I seem to be the focus here; but in fact the man-made object, subject of the challenge put up for this week by the indomitable Cee, is what you see behind me.

Know when this was?

1965.

Know how old I was?

[grin]

Weekly Writing Challenge: Three Ways to Go Gonzo

In summary, the basic hallmarks of Gonzo journalism are:

First-person narration.
Dialogue complete with vernacular.
Lots and lots and lots of detail.

Write at least three paragraphs reporting on a scenario that you imagine in Gonzo journalism style.

HOW TO INTERVIEW A STAR

They’d booked a really large room for her, planning on crowds of journalists wanting interviews. Trouble was, when I entered it, expecting to become instantly sucked into a throng all trampling one another, turns out th...

A very nice bloke …

sunshine… is our Reinhard Marton. He has nominated me for one of the many blogging awards – this one is called the Sunshine Award (for those of you who can’t read what’s on the image).

I had forgotten about this awards business. I do understand that it’s meant in the nicest possible way, and with all good intentions – a sort of great big huge ‘Like’ accompanied by a bouquet of flowers!:-)But, you know, I would far rather receive any pleasant sentiments expressed in words. Reinhard and I often exchange...

I don’t know about other countries’ social problems, let alone other cities’ – but here in Sydney we have a very real one (of course amongst many!) that’s occupying the press and getting us very het up.

Because it kills people.
