The writer

I sit here looking inwardly at them all as they run around inside my head, behaving rather badly if truth be known … I don’t seem to have disciplined them very well over all these years: had I done so, they’d respond much more quickly to my summons. I’ve made a rod for my own back, as the saying goes: having allowed them to get away with just about anything, I’m now paying the price.
