This is the third book in the Hail Raisers series and while I liked this one - I didn't absolutely love it. While all of LLV have sex and language, this book had A LOT of both of those things. It had a good storyline, but I did have a problem with the believability of a Psychologist having a fling with her patient - even if she's known that patient almost her whole life and had a crush on him. I know it's a book and it's fiction, but I did ding another author for this and it wouldn't be right to not do it here. It's an unethical line that shouldn't be crossed and with that being said, Hennessy did pass his case on to her friend. There's a bunch of stuff going on in this book that's leading up to the books that are coming out in the next couple months and I really enjoyed finding out about the insights into those characters. Again, while I believe this wasn't a five-star for me, it's going to be for a bunch of others and I might actually go back and read it again to see if I was just in a mood. I read it while I was in the Hell Hotel at a book signing and wasn't in the greatest of moods. Will this keep me from reading the others coming up? Absolutely not!!

This book has the entirety of my heart and soul…right down to the daisies on the cover and the “he loves me, he loves me knot” saying all throughout the book. I’ll tell a little of why I love it so much. This book gives so much hope to those of us that have loved and lost so much – it’s not a tremendously sad book, so don’t think that. As a matter of fact, it’s more of an uplifting book that will leave you laughing out loud in some places and feeling warmhearted in others with a smile on your face.
My heart belongs to Becket and it always will…he’s just so yummy. I really loved his brother Brantley and a part of my heart was crushed because he bats for the other team. I know the book is about EJ (Emma Jane and Knox) but I read it for Becket. I fell for him in Hendy’s book and if you haven’t read Out of the Ashes (Shameless plug I know, but it’s the best book!!!) then you really should.
Anyhow, this book is about Emma Jane or Blue as Becket calls her, who after being engaged and getting ready to walk down the aisle overhears her fiancé talking to her father about where a woman's place should be and runs out of her wedding. From there, she meets Becket and they form an unlikely friendship, one that is beneficial to each of them in their own ways.
Fast forward eight years and we meet Knox, EJ’s ex, who is the buyer of the company where EJ works. To say that she’s in shock is an understatement. To say he’s not in a good place is the understatement of the year. Watching the two together was explosive, but watching Becket and Wells (Knox’s best friend) throw EJ and Knox together was hilarious. I wanted to slap Knox a couple of times because of his hardheadedness, but I understood it. There was a part of the book where there is a reveal that I felt needed longer than the allotted time that was used, however, it didn’t slow the book down and it didn’t impede the storyline in any way. I thought the author did a wonderful job of building the story up and then letting us as the readers experience the fallout of the plot. Another thing that was profound to me was the lack of cussing in this book as opposed to the other works of this genre and yet the plot and the storyline never suffered!! That’s always been one of my critiques when reading a book is the language, and the other is extreme sexual content that can sometimes lead away from a dramatic storyline…this book didn’t do either. It was a pleasure to be able to pass this to my mom and not have to warn her ahead of time. She, of course, skipped over the sex scenes that were in the book, but there weren’t quite as many as usual and the storyline stood on its own. Next up is Becket’s book and I’m all over it.

Barely a minute passes before the din of light conversation ebbs to complete silence when a man enters the room and heads straight for the opposite end of the table. I can only see the back of him as he takes long, powerful strides, one hand grasping a thick binder. Something seems so familiar about him... My eyes track his movements, and my forehead creases as I try to place him. His suit is well tailored and it’s evident the man works out because even beneath the black pinstriped dress pants, his backside is firm, the fabric doing nothing to mask his powerful, muscled thighs. When he moves to set the binder down, his suit jacket shifts and hints at a firm, flat stomach beneath the button-down shirt. My appraisal continues down to his hands when he draws one hand back from the binder. An odd sensation overtakes me, and a rousing awareness crackles within the air, causing me to immediately grow still. Then he turns, fully facing everyone in the room, and it’s in this moment my breath is completely robbed from me.As if in shock, my mind refuses to operate on all cylinders, acting sluggish. I continue to take in the sight before me, cataloguing my observations. The square jawline that used to remain clean-shaven now has a short, neatly trimmed beard of the same dark shade of brown as his hair. My eyes skim over the straight nose that has the faintest bump on the bridge from the time when he was five and fel—Sweet Lord, no.As the man’s identity dawns on me, my eyes flicker over my coworkers seated around the large table before I return my panicked gaze to the individual who’s garnering attention with his commanding presence.He surveys everyone in attendance and those piercing green eyes, framed by dark lashes, scan each person and slowly travel around the table. My heart skips a beat when his eyes lands on me. If I weren’t scrutinizing so intently, I wouldn’t have caught the slight pause, the faint shift in depth of his gaze, as it grows frigid before he continues his perusal of the remainder of the staff members. My throat grows dry and I immediately wish I’d brought my water bottle along. A stick of gum, even. Anything. I should’ve known better than to think my past wouldn’t catch up to me at some point.In my case, however, it seems my past is the new owner of my place of employment. Knox Montgomery. The man I left at the altar.

This is the kind of book you read and don't go to sleep for hours after you read it. It's a real mind-boggler I'll tell ya...At first, I thought "okay, this is just really kind of creepy." Then, the more I read the creepier it got until I had this odd feeling that the way it was going to end wasn't going to be all hugs and squeezes - if you know what I mean.
Amo is known for her version of twisted romantic suspense that leaves you going "WTF, did I just read?" This book wasn't any different. I can't really review Crowned by Hate without giving anything away about the storyline and letting the cat out of the bag. This had complex characters that I really wanted to hate. I didn't like Bryant and I'm probably in the minority if reading Facebook is any indication. I didn't start to like him until the end of the book. Isa was so downtrodden to me that I felt sorry for her as if her whole life she'd been searching for someone to truly love her and then everything that happens is just mindblowing.
I will say this, that what you think is gonna happen in this story, doesn't and what you want to happen in this book, doesn't. With those two things in mind, don't get angry when you read the book and get to the end and realize that what you thought was one thing is actually another. This actually made me think of the beeping sound in quite a different light...

For me this book just wasn't right, wasn't a right fit, wasn't a good read. This is the second read from the author this month and it just had wayyyy too much sex and cussing. Maybe I'm a prude, but this is the second book by this author that I've read that's really needed to be labeled erotic. Also Available

I read the last book that Devney Perry wrote, and I liked it, even though everyone else was saying her books were kind of like another author…well a lot of authors are like other authors because that’s what we do. Here’s the thing – it works for her and I thought it worked in the last book, but this book, The Outpost was sooo much better and went above and beyond what I was expecting. It wasn’t that it had a bunch of action because it didn’t. It’s that I loved Beau. Beau had to be the best hero that I’ve ever read in a really long time. He wasn’t macho, he wasn’t alpha to the point of running over everyone with his alphaness – he was just dreamy Beau, and I loved that. Sabrina had something traumatic happen to her, and she’s got all this stuff going on in her head, but she isn’t a whiny female that we see in books. There were spots in the book that kind of slowed down for me, but to be honest – I needed to have all the details about the surroundings to know what they saw so I could see it too. Usually, I just skip those parts, and I found that I was reading them instead, so that’s the test of a good book – if you can keep me engaged and in your story. I loved that Epilogue and the playfulness between these two. I can’t wait for The Bitterroot Inn and Maisy’s story.
