Home stretch
I’ve finished the draft and initial revisions of Iced in Shadow, A Shadow Walkers Holiday Novella. Now I’m in the home stretch of finishing revisions, getting comments back from my beta readers and then it’s off to my wonderful editor! Of course I won’t rest too long as my revisions from the editor for Book 2, Desired by Shadow will be coming back and I want to have Book 3, Reborn in Shadow drafted by the end of the year.
So while I should be doing this…

Happy Monday
I know, I should be cranky on a typical Monday. But…it’s a beautiful morning and I’m sitting on the screened-in porch working with a smile on my face and a cat on the chair next to me. Pretty much my idea of a perfect day.
Hoping to finish my holiday novella, Iced in Shadow in the next day or so and send it off to my editor next week. Once I do, I’ll post the cover. It’s a bit different than my other two covers so will be interested to hear what you think – grins

Social media and eggplant?!
Before I chat about social media, I’m having fresh corn, a tomato tart, and eggplant with breadcrumbs for dinner tonight after my foray to the farmer’s market. Oh, and fresh blackberries for dessert – yum! The eggplant, I slice, dip it in egg and shake it in a bag with some flour and italian breadcrumbs. Then fry it in a pan with a little olive oil. A great way to try eggplant if you’re not a fan.
I’ve been thinking a lot about social media lately. Who uses it and why. It seems like today we’re all on in some way shape or form. As a writer who left corporate america, I find it a great way to connect with new folks when I need a break from work.
But at the same time, I tend to “go dark” for days or even a few weeks at a time. Where I have friends who check Facebook every time their phone dings. I have all sound notifications turned off on my phone and check in a few times a day. How often are you on social media, which one is your favorite and why? I know some of you like blogs since you’re here – grins.
I’ll go first. My favorite, hands down is twitter. I tweet about all kinds of stuff – the Walking Dead being a particular fave of mine.
At best, I’m a sporadic blogger. As you know, I have a website for Wicked Green Smoothies and this one for my writing.
Vine is fun to create short little 6 second videos like today when it’s raining.
Instagram is great for sharing silly pictures. You can follow me on Instagram if you’re so inclined.
I’m also on Pinterest where I post about healthy eating, products and styles I love, things inspiring the latest book and whatever else catches my fancy.
Last but not least, if you want to connect with me in another format than this blog, I’ve listed all my links. Oh yeah, I’m on Facebook as me, and under my author fan page.
Give me a shout out as to your fave and why. And if you like tomatoes, cheese & basil…tell me and I’ll post my tomato tart recipe.
Enjoy the weekend!

Rain, rain…
Have you tried out the app from Vine? It’s a nifty little app for your smartphone that allows you to make short 6 second videos.
Mine’s here and not surprisingly it’s the rain falling on the driveway
You can follow me on Vine if you so desire. Enjoy the weekend!

Nifty new Amazon feature – Stay Up to Date
Amazon has recently added a nice new feature called Stay Up to Date. It allows you to sign up to be notified when your favorite author has a new release. How do you find it? Go to Amazon and search for the author. Go to their Author page and you’ll see it on the right hand side. Easy Peasy!
Cheers!

Filling the well
How do you stay creative? Do you read books on the subject? Or do you even thing about it?
For me, it’s the small things that help keep the creative well full. Whenever possible, I sit outside to work. Looking out at the woods, seeing the deer pass by, the squirrels and birds doing their thing and the cats taking it all in, inspires me and keeps me filled.
The other day, wandering through the farmer’s market, I noticed this plant vendor. Aren’t the giant flowers fantastic? Of course, I immediately thought of plants and nature reclaiming our world if things went horribly wrong…
And that image gave me all kinds of ideas for my upcoming apocalyptic book I’ve been wanting to write. It will come out after Book 3 (Hamish’s story) in the Shadow Walkers Series. Looks like it will be a trilogy. I’m really excited to work on it!
Cheers!
