Cast of The Caine
After writing about The Caine Mutiny the other day, wanted to watch it. Only place I could find it online was Amazon Prime. Coulda rented it for, like $2.99, but afraid I’d fall asleep before my rental elapsed. So I bought it for $12-something.
Worth it. Liked it a lot. Better than I remembered from sixty-four years ago.

Although Humphrey Bogart was the star, he wasn’t the Main Character. That designation belongs to Robert Francis – a handsome young man and adequate actor who played rece...

The Caine Mutiny

My godmother took me to see The Caine Mutiny at a theater in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The year was 1954 and I was eleven. Might not’ve been born had it not been for Pearl Harbor and World War II. Thus, I was back then, and still am, extremely interested in everything related to that war.

I was a junior in high school at the time. This was big news because a random murder like that never happened before, and I paid special attention because the teenagers were around my age.
Recently-paroled ex-cons Richard “Dick” Hickock and Perry Smith blew the family away with a sh...

Chubby McBride Nailed It
Posted a photo of myself the other day at San Juan airport en route to my first visit to St. Croix, oh, back in 1985, I believe – & my buddy Chubby McBride, aka Gary Mc Bride, a Collingdale High & Naval Academy grad – nailed it when he asked: “Was this the beginning of ‘C. Queen?’”
The “C. Queen” reference is about my first crime-fiction novel Caribbean Queen published a few years back – and available at Amazon & Kindle.
Yes, Chub, although it didn’t manifest until about ten years later, tha...
