The Character Takes Over

Answer and Question

The Answer – One of the most popular game shows in the history of television. Art Fleming was the first host. And there were only two.

It’s a no-brainer if the third clue were “The other host was Alex Trebek.” Now, just about everybody knows the correct question.

The Question – What is Jeopardy?

Please note that the answer is in the form of a question. Because, you know, that’s how it works on Jeopardy.

Don’t Let the Bedbugs Bite

29 – Don’t Let the Bedbugs Bite

AT THE SAME TIME.

We’re inside the old farmhouse and the lights are now on in the kitchen. We see Billy, Russo, and Cue Ball facing each other in a tight circle in the middle of the large room.

27 – Shit Hit the Fan

AT THE SAME TIME.

We’re in the 12th District squad room and see uniformed cops and detectives moving all around.

We see a cigarette, half smoked, sitting in an ashtray filled with ashes and butts. And there’s Lew sitting across the desk from Detective Reggie Lawson. Twenty-eight, black, and six years on the force. Two years as a detective.

Lew’s halfway through his story. His notebook’s open on the desk and Beth’s photo sits right in front of the detective.

“First,” Lew...
