Truth.

Sometime2s writing takes you on a path you never intended to take. It sweeps you away on a journey that is both exhilarating and terrifying. It consumes you, morning, noon, and night; it woos you away from your other obligations and tasks.

It is the most amazing feeling.

That’s what’s happened with my newest project, which I’m calling Someone Else’s Summer. It’s all I can think about. I eat, breathe, and dream it. I’ve not even started writing – I’m still in the process of plotting and outlining...

I have been reading like a madwoman the past few weeks. It has been awesome. A couple weeks ago, I went to Seeley Lake (where99 Days of Laney MacGuiretakes place), and while I was there, I read eight books in eight days. I’ve been so, so busy the past few months that I haven’t been abl...

The Raskolnikov Project

Several years ago, I started writing a web serial calledThe Raskolnikov Project.I released mini-chapters every week or so on my blog. It was some of the most fun I’ve ever had writing. It was raw, unedited, no outline required. The best part? It was a YA adaptation of my favorite book:

cp

So why did I stop?

Remember when this happened? Yeah…that serial lived entirely on my blog. And silly me didn’t have any back-up. Because why would I bother to back up my blog? (Guys….back up EVERYTHING.) So I lo...

Friday Five

1. Has it really beenthree monthssince I last blogged? May 14th, it says. That’s crazy. Summer has been awesome but very, very busy. I’m getting back in the swing of things, though, so I should be back in bloggy business now.

2. We. FINALLY. Found a house. It is fantastic, and it comes with40 acres!for our critters. Unfortunately, it also comes with a very unique financing situation, and renters that hold a six month lease. But, since it took us seven months of looking to find something this p...

What I’m reading:

In hardcover, I’m readingPartialsby Dan Wells. I’ve actually been reading this oneforever.I’m enjoying it, but it’s the book I read when I get up early in the mornings so I can have some time to myself. But since I’ve been working so much, I’ve been staying up super late, so not so much...

Manic Monday

It’s 9:37 pm, and I’m just tucking into my work for the night. That’s life with a 3-year-old, I suppose. Always going and doing and chasing until he’s in bed, and then the rest of the day begins. It’s okay. I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s just a little…manic.

I turned 30 yesterday. Remember when thirty seemedso old? When I was younger, I figured that of course I would be a full-blownadultby the time I was thirty, like there was just this magic threshold you cross when suddenly everythin...
