Change is Opportunity

Change is opportunity.

Since change is inevitable, and we can choose to embrace change or not, we get to decide if it is bad luck…or an opportunity.

How does this work?  Change is opportunity because it is a chance for something new and different.  It might be a fresh start, it might be a shift, great or small, that can be used to take on a new direction or do different things.

I believe that if more people saw change as opportunity rather than as something awful, we’d live in a more proactive, rather than reactive world.

Change is OpportunityThis is something I need to remind myself about more than I do.  While I am not afraid of change, I tend not to embrace it, either.  I like my familiar surroundings, and though it is not my intent, I tend to be loath to change them.

Change is opportunity.  When what you have going is not entirely what you want, change is the chance to alter it.  We get to make new decisions, different choices, and experience new things.

This year there have already been a lot of changes.  We moved to a totally different part of the state than we lived before; new job; taking a walk every weekday morning; loss of the albatross around my neck.

Every single one of these has been an opportunity.  The move brought about my having an incredible office to work from, and our new neighborhood is really cool.  I love this new job.  My daily walk is healthy.  The removal of this burden is quite the relief.

I am still seeking some new things in my life.  However, I am taking my annual vacation, which, though it involves some “work”, tends to act as a reset for my life.

Change is opportunity for growth

Growth is inextricably linked to change.  One cannot grow without change, period end of story.  Growth, whether it’s physical, mental, or emotional, IS change.  We become someone new and different from whom we currently are.

As such, change is an opportunity to become more.  If you are dissatisfied with life, change is opportunity to alter that.

Overall, I have a pretty good life.  I have a home, friends, an awesome wife, an incredible hobby, a job I like, and I get to work on my writing.  Yet while it’s pretty good, it is not as excellent as I know it could be.

So I am going to embrace some change, and take actions to alter my life.  Once I get back from Pennsic (I write about this every year – big SCA event in Pennsylvania) I am going to begin putting together what I need to start podcasting.

Why podcasting?  Because though blogging is really cool, I believe that podcasting might open up more.  I am still working on the details, and I need to figure out the equipment I will need, but I think this could be really cool.

This is going to be a change.  But to go forward with life and cross more of the bridges between the worlds I live in, a necessary one.

Change is opportunity to overcome fear

That’s going to be the other challenge for me in this process.  I am human.  Like most humans, change can be a bit scary to me.

I need to stop sabotaging my change.  This is opportunity, and that is something I desire.  If I am going to get where I wish to go in this life, then I need to not let my fears inhibit my motivation.  I know that I can do almost anything I desire to do.  It’s a matter of doing it.

Consciousness creates reality.  I can manifest virtually anything I can conceive of.  I know this.  It’s been done by me before.  As such, the doubt, which is a disguise for the fear, needs to be released.

But first…a little rest and relaxation.  Don’t anyone break the internet while I’m away.

As always, thank you for crossing the bridges between my worlds with me.

How Does Embracing Change Work?

Embracing change, rather than resisting it, serves us best.

Nobody denies that change is scary.  Humans seek comfort, be it in our homes, relationships, clothing, foods we consume, and so forth.  There is a certain level of comfort in the familiar.  As such, when that which we are used to changes, it can be extremely disconcerting.

Like it or not, change will occur.  That is the nature of the universe.  Change is a constant.  Embracing change, therefore, will smooth any given transition that will occur.

Embracing changeA large part of why people will vote for our so-called leaders, despite it being completely against their best interests, is because they buy into the fear of change they peddle.  They love to scare people by telling them change will have an adverse effect on their lives, so they need to vote for the person who won’t allow those changes to happen.

Of course, this is complete bullshit.  There will still be change, but it will only benefit the leaders and their friends and benefactors.  Look at current American politics if you don’t believe this.

No matter how much you resist, no matter how hard you attempt to avoid change, it will happen.  That is one of the biggest truths in the universe.  Change is.  Change will be. So, we can embrace change…or deny reality.

Yes, there is change that is bad.  Accidents happen, relationships end, people die, natural disasters occur, jobs get lost, and so on.  This is nearly always a change that will produce resistance.  While that’s completely natural, how long we resist and choose to hold on to the negativity is entirely up to each of us to decide for ourselves.

Embracing change that is unwanted is particularly challenging

These bad changes hurt.  They can cut pretty deep, and leave us with enormous wounds.  Even when we work to stave off the bleeding, they heal slowly.

But they will heal.  Everyone feels loss and pain differently.  Still, after a while, hanging onto it is a choice.

Yes, I recognize that the passing of a loved one, a terrible change, is going to sting long after they are gone. I am in no way saying you should “get over it” or to “forget it” or “let it go.”  However, I AM saying that if it cripples other aspects of your life and prevents you from living, still, it may be wise to seek professional help.

It is harder embracing change that’s undesirable.  As such, it may just be more realistic to accept change in these instances.  Albeit begrudgingly.

Change is inevitable.  It cannot be stopped.  So when we are embracing change, we open ourselves up to controlling it instead.

How do we control change outside of ourselves?  By claiming control over our reaction to change.  When we choose how to respond to change, we have taken control.

Consciousness creates reality.  We can choose what that means for us by how we react to change.  When we resist, we are bound to create a reality we do not desire.  If, however, we embrace change, we might just be able to control it, and direct it for the better.

Unsurprisingly, this is not easy.  We can change our personal tangibles and intangibles, be they clothing or habits, but we can only react to change from without.

Or can we?  When we choose to embrace change, are we reacting…or are we acting?  Intentional action, along with thought and feeling, manifests almost everything we desire for ourselves.

You get to decide what to do.

Embracing change is an intentional action

Recognizing the inevitability of change, we all get to choose.  We can take our thoughts about a given change, use them to work with and through our feelings, and from there to choose how to act.  Instead of being reactive to change, we just might get to be proactive towards it instead.

There is no need to fear change.  Wanted or unwanted, change is an opportunity.  It can be a do-over, a reset, or a fresh start.  It may not be in the manner you desire, but that doesn’t make it any less or more powerful.

I do feel I need to put in an important note here.  There is an important difference between resisting change, and embracing an alternative to change.  There are things that happen from outside of ourselves which we cannot control, but which we still need to take a stand about.  About, not against.

For example – the whole anti-climate-change movement.  I could stand against the changes they are implementing against scientific fact; or I could choose to stand with scientists and reasonable leaders who are for addressing and maybe fixing the issue.  Rather than be reactive, this is a proactive position.

Being against something is not nearly as powerful as being for something else.  This is completely applicable to the idea of embracing change.  You can resist one change by actively seeking and choosing another.

It all boils down to decisions and choices.  Do you prefer to be a victim of circumstance, or instead take charge and embrace what changes?

Do you see the power in embracing change?

How does a Change of Scenery Help?

Sometimes you need a change of scenery.

This can be a tiny shift, or it can be rather immense, depending on the time and situation.  A change of scenery, however slight, can go a long ways towards building Positivity.

Clean off your desk, rearrange your furniture, change out your décor, change your body wash, look at some digital images you have on your computer or phone or online.  Reposition and move about the small things around you that you can.

Change of SceneryThis can involve movement, while remaining a simple action.  Get up and walk.  Look out a window; go stand in the sun; stand in the rain; get up and stretch.  Grab a cup of coffee, go chat with a neighbor for a few minutes.  Pet a cat or dog.  Just do something, any small movement, to shift your environment.

This can involve more time and effort.  Go for a hike, go to a movie, see a concert or a play, take a drive to look at the foliage, go to the gym, go for a swim, take a walk around your neighborhood, go for a bike ride, go eat lunch at a park, find and hug a tree.  Take time for yourself.

This can be much more involved.  Take a trip somewhere other than where you call home.  Fly across an ocean.  Drive across the country.  Follow a pilgrimage route.  Start learning something that you have never done before.

And of course, this can also be a rather drastic change of scenery.  Move across the country.  Quit your job and move to Europe.  Sell everything you own and relocate and totally start over somewhere new.  Go on an extended walkabout.

A change of scenery changes your energy and can raise your frequency.

Whether subtle or drastic, a change of scenery, literal or figurative, can make a huge difference towards your Positivity.  The rote routine can be mind-numbing, and it can frustrate and infuriate, as well as lead you towards negativity in your world.  An environmental shift, a change of scenery, can really clear cobwebs and help you gain new focus and perspective.

Change of SceneryConsciousness creates reality.  If your current environment is stifling your energy, your creativity, or generally leaving you feeling blah, a change of scenery may be the answer.  Subtle or major, taking control over this particular aspect of your life can help improve your emotions and mood.  This is a simple change that can have a large impact.

It’s amazing how a subtle change of scenery can shift your mood, and help you to find more positivity.

I know that sometimes we get stuck in a situation where this feels difficult.  Finding a subtle change can go a long ways towards altering how you are feeling, and finding and building Positivity.  Change that you are choosing to make can also help prevent unwanted and drastic changes down the line.

Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action.

Knowing that you can create a change of scenery, whether subtly or drastically, you can shift how you are feeling.  When we actively do things that will change our surroundings, we take more control over our emotions, and as such we empower ourselves.  When we feel empowered, we often spread that feeling to others around us, and as such can build more positive feelings.  We can use the positive feelings this generates to dissolve negative feelings.  When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for.  Gratitude leads to happiness.  Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude.  Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.

This is the two-hundred and thirty-fourth entry of my Positivity series.  It is my hope these weekly messages might help spread positive energies for everyone.  Feel free to share, re-blog and spread the positivity.

Is There an Albatross Around Your Neck?

Is there an albatross around your neck?

What does that even mean?  First, the albatross has been a sign of good luck to sailors for centuries.  As such, killing one is considered to be bad luck.  In the old poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, because the narrator killed an albatross, his fellow sailors made him wear it around his neck.

As such, it references the notion that you have a burden weighing you down.  Similarly, people refer to a monkey on your back or a black cloud over your head.  There is this thing that is causing distress, holding you back, and stalling or stilling progress in your life.

There has been a particular albatross around my neck for nearly a decade. It has been the cause of discontent, anger, consternation, distress, discord, and a host of other negative emotions.  This has also been the cause of some other, more tangible issues in my life.  It has impacted on my family, and our relationship all this time.

Finally, after all that time…it is over.  The burden has been lifted, the resolution has come about, and finally, finally I can free myself of this.

Albatross Around Your NeckI did not recognize this for what it was until it was pointed out to me.  I mean, I know it has been the cause of a wide number of emotions for me over the years, but an albatross?  Yeah…this makes perfect sense.

Consciousness creates reality.  But when there is a burden on your psyche, whether tangible or intangible, it will affect your reality, even as you try to control it.

This illuminates why awareness is so important.  Sure, I have worked on being more aware, but I didn’t see this for what it was.

Get to know the albatross

This burden has been weighing down on me for a long time.  Despite all my effort at conscious reality creation, it has been a part of me that I did not recognize for what it was.  As such, it has had an impact on everything I have been doing.

No matter all the manifestation efforts I have been making, or the bridges I have been striding across, it was still there.  An underlying shadow of negativity that, because I could not see it for what it was, impacted my whole existence.

It’s not always just old childhood lessons, issues and beliefs that can have an effect on who we are in the here-and-now.  It is sometimes closer than we know.

I think this stresses to some degree the value of therapy.  Maybe if I had been seeing a therapist, I would have identified this sooner.  But the past is passed, so now I need to be here and take stock.

With this burden lifted, I am free.  Now, perhaps, I will find conscious reality creation gets easier.  No more distress, no more underlying anger and resentment.  Clearer mind, clearer heart.  Freer thoughts, freer emotions.

Let the albatross fly

The albatross is good luck.  So, now that it is flying instead of lying across my neck, I should be more capable when it comes to directing my own life.  I will be able to make choices and decisions that are not being shadowed by this burden.

It has not fully sunk in yet.  You carry something around for a decade or so without full acknowledgement, I guess it is no wonder that I am still processing this.  The timing was such that I will be on vacation shortly, so much reset happening.

I should be able to focus better on doing more to be happy, and make adjustments to work with higher frequencies better.  This big negative is gone…so there is a lot more room for big positive.

As always, thank you for crossing the bridges between my worlds with me.

Why do High Frequencies Matter?

What is the importance of high frequencies?

To put it simply, high frequencies feel good and draw good things to us.  Low frequencies feel bad, and draw bad things to us.

Despite having broken this down before, I believe that it totally bears repeating.

Everything throughout the entire cosmos is energy.  From the smallest subatomic particle to the biggest galaxy, it’s all energy.  Along the way energy changes form, sometimes taking tangible shape but frequently remaining intangible.

High FrequenciesWhether you believe in some form of higher power or not, both science and faith will tell the same thing, just using different language.

Energy vibrates at different frequencies.  Because of the nature of human beings, those frequencies can be changed and adjusted.  Overall, they are tied into our emotions.

Things that feel bad, such as sadness, depression, anger, hatred, jealousy and so on are low frequencies.  I think the fact that we often call this “feeling low” puts that into perspective.

Things that feel good, such as happiness, joy, satisfaction, love, sharing and so on are high frequencies.  All of these feelings are positive, and make you feel better, stronger, more up, more perspective.

The Law of Attraction states that Like attracts Like.  As such, high frequencies attract more high frequency things.  And on the other side of the same coin, low frequencies attract more low frequency things.

Ever notice how when a lot of people are feeling bad, they tend to pull more people in?  Conversely, when a lot of people are feeling good they tend to pull people in.  But this is not just about people.  Because everything is energy, and it all vibrates at various and sundry frequencies, we draw good and bad experiences, situations, and things to ourselves.

High frequencies are building blocks

The best way to develop more high frequencies for ourselves is to build upon them.  It’s from these experiences that we can manifest almost anything we desire.

Consciousness creates reality.  Ergo, awareness builds life.  Being aware of how you feel builds your life, for good or ill.

For the most part, we live our lives mostly in our subconscious.  There are a lot of reasons I can think of for why this is so.  A lot of it comes from some rather mixed messages.  Society points us back to the past and ahead to the future, frequently ignoring the here-and-now.

Because we spend so little time in the now, we are mostly working from our subconscious selves.  We do the things we do, go about our daily routines, and maybe take a little time to just be.

When we are wholly present, we can be completely aware of our thoughts and feelings.  If we are thinking about bad things, we are likely feeling bad, and thus working from low frequencies.  But, if we are having good thoughts and feeling good, we are working from high frequencies.

Our subconscious tends to be attuned either to the collective consciousness of those we surround ourselves with; or else thoughts about something from when we were more conscious at an earlier time.

How does that work?  If we read something online that makes us feel bad, and don’t replace it with something good before moving on, it can inadvertently drive our subconscious.  If we remain unaware of this, we cede control.

High frequencies create building blocks for better things for ourselves.  Low frequencies, on the other hand, tend to take things apart.

When we feel good, we are capable of more good.  This extends not just to ourselves, but out to the whole world.

High Frequencies are positive

While low frequencies are the negative, and high frequencies positive, there is a huge amount of grey in the middle.  Between these are neutral energies that haven’t any charge in either direction…but can be drawn to either build good or bad.  This is part of the choices we have every day.

Do we choose to be in a bad place, or a good place?  Are our thoughts negative, or positive?  Do we feel good or bad?  What actions are we taking that reflect this?

If we are taking care of our bodies, reading material that feeds our minds, eating healthy, and making time for laughter, friends and love – this is high frequency action.  However, if we are not caring for our bodies, reading the equivalent of junk food or not-at-all, eating garbage, and isolating ourselves or making excuses to be solemn, alone and down – this is low frequency actions.

It is all about choices.  We can decide which frequencies we want to vibrate at.  This is why it is massively empowering to be aware of our thoughts and feelings, because from there we can do almost anything.

Make it awesome.  Choose wisely.

Are you working from a place of high vibrations?

How Do You Be Happy?

Let’s be happy.

Doesn’t that sound like a fantastic idea?

What do we have to do to be happy?

Be HappyThat’s the challenge we all face.  In especial when we’re inundated with lack, scarcity, and messages of exclusion, hate, and fear.  Hard to find happy when there are so many messages that are the opposite.

It is time to take back our power and do what it takes to be happy.

It might be something grand, like taking a vacation or relocating to another country or selling off all your possessions and walking the earth.  We all have different things that make us happy.

It might be a bit easier than that.  Go online and look for silly cat pictures.  Watch dogs and other animals do ridiculously cute things.  Go outside and sit in the sun, or sit in the rain.  Walk in the woods.  Do something physical.  Put on a movie or TV show or any video that makes you feel good, that makes you smile and feel happy.  Spend time with loved ones.  Eat chocolate.  Read a book.

Why do we deny ourselves opportunities to be happy?  Because we have come to believe that we don’t deserve it.

We have been taught that happiness is something earned. It takes effort to be happy.  You can’t just have it, it is not your right it is a privilege.  One must work to be happy.  You have to put out effort and struggle and sacrifice to be happy.

This is completely backwards.  Happiness isn’t just some reward, it is everybody’s right.  We all deserve happiness, we all are worthy of finding happiness in whatever forms we can.  Every single one of us has a right to happiness in our lives.

What makes you be happy?

What makes me happy is probably different from what makes you happy.  Nothing wrong with that, but we have to recognize that nobody’s happiness should be at the expense of anyone else’s.  You being happy does not detract from my being happy, so we should all have opportunities, means and options to be happy.

How Do You Be Happy? This is not a limited amount of pie, with not enough to go around concept.  That’s not how this works.  There is more than enough, because we live in an abundant universe.  As such, there is infinite pie, plenty for everyone.  I think if more people in this world were actually happy, the world would be a better place for more people.

Consciousness creates reality.  Positivity builds happiness.  Feeling positive leads to feeling good, which is a key to feeling happy.  It’s pretty close to impossible to feel happy when you are dealing in negativity.

Claim your happiness.  Don’t be afraid, do something that will allow you to feel happy.  Spread happiness where and however you can.

Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action.

Knowing that we all desire to be happy – that we are worthy and deserving of happiness, and it is not something we need to earn – we should take steps to do things that make us feel happy.  When we work on being happy, we make ourselves and those around us feel good, and in the process we ultimately empower ourselves.

What Does The Future is Now Mean?

The future is now.

I always thought that an odd phrase.  But then, when you take the Law of Attraction into account, it makes perfect sense.

Consciousness creates reality.  In being conscious of the here-and-now, the future is made.

If our present reality is the result of our past thoughts, feelings, and actions, then by being wholly in the now and totally aware and present we create the future.  As such, the future is now.

I have spent this week working through some conflicting emotions, and the truth that we live in an abundant universe, with more than enough for you, me, those assholes in Washington DC, and everyone else.  For the first time in too long, I even posted an update about my life over on my author website.

That got me thinking about the future.  There are things I intend to be doing, and they happen to be ahead of me.

The Future is NowWhy are they ahead of me and not in the now?  Because they are dependent on things I do not have right now…but will have very, very soon.

Yes I am being somewhat vague about this on purpose.  But the point remains the same.  An event that is occurring soon (which happens to be out of my control, so I cannot change the when) will allow me to take certain actions.

If the future is now in fact, then right here and now, while I may not be able to act, I CAN and should think and feel that which I desire.  Think these things as already done, feel what that feels like…and manifest, consciously create an awesome reality.

In order to do this, I need to work past those conflicting emotions, and get excited.  The thought is there.  But the feeling needs to meet it.

The future is now should be the future is IN the now

Modern society is terrible at being present.  I mean, look at all the times we “look back” to the past.  Rather than forge ahead and continue to progress as we did under Obama, Trump focused on a past that never existed, by campaigning with “Make America Great Again.”  As if the nation were lesser in the now.

But that all ties into the lack and scarcity mentality the leaders of the world enjoy pushing.  Lack and scarcity allows for building a foundation of fear, and when we get fearful, we seek solutions frequently from without.  Ergo, we turn to these people who present so-called solutions, when in truth they are giving nothing that doesn’t further their own ambitions and illusion of power.

This IS an abundant universe.  I write this to remind not only you, but myself.  We can create nearly anything we can imagine.  The Universe is energy, and everything in the cosmos is at its root also energy.  All energy vibrates at a frequency, and like attracts like.  Low frequency energies are negative, high frequency energies are positive.  As such, the more good we think, feel and act on the more we attract to ourselves.

I write this often.  Why?  Because in our modern society, it feels like a lie.  Because of what we are fed by the media, it is hard to believe.  But it is still the truth.

Every single self-help author discusses this.  From the best to the worst, the most realistic to the most pie-in-the-sky, the law of attraction and universal abundance is their jam.  Most of the great spiritual teachers said the same thing, though a lot of their mouthpieces misinterpret that.  But it is still the truth.

The future is now when we feel it is

Feeling, for me, has always been the challenge.  I need to work extra hard to be aware of how and what I am feeling.  It can be frustrating, which of course is no help to the process.

I also need to work on my motivation.  All too often I get sidetracked by this, that or the other thing.  I get distracted, and then time gets away from me and plans do not get acted upon.  This in turn frequently leads me to feel even more irked with myself…and that, of course, does not help me get where I desire to go.

Armed with this knowledge, and awareness that the future is now, I need to get to work.  Feel excitement for these things that are coming, feel good about it, and take the intentional actions I desire, in order to manifest the things I wish to create.

Meditate.  Do not get caught within my own head.  Be present.  Be in the now.  Most of all, I need to JUST BE.

Alright, there is plenty for me to do today.  As always, thank you for crossing the bridges between my worlds with me.

Working With Conflicting Emotions?

I am holding onto a lot of conflicting emotions that do not serve me.

There is a great deal of anger, resentment, fear, and other negative feelings built up inside me.  Even after all this time, knowing like I do that consciousness creates reality, like attracts like, and low vibe draws more low vibe, I am holding onto exactly what I do not need.

The conflicting emotions originate from a few different places.  All of them are my own reaction to outside stimuli, little to none of which is inside of my control.

Conflicting EmotionsMentally, I know this.  I can reason it out.  The logic is infallible.  But then when it comes down to emotion, and the actual feelings persisting within me, that’s another story.  I find I am holding onto a lot of negativity.  As a result, I am not feeling positive, and even with all the tools I have and the years of writing about this topic, I am not succeeding at releasing my conflicting emotions.

This is, in many ways, rather ironic.  Why?  Because when I was younger, I was largely not very good at doing anything with regards to emotions.  I knew, logically, what they should feel like…but seldom actually could feel them.  I touched upon negative emotions more than positive ones then, but overall any talk of emotions on my part was lip service to the concept.

Recognizing that I am currently working with conflicting emotions, what can I do?  I have written time and again about the choice that is inherent in how we feel.  Ergo, I get to choose if I want to continue to feel this way…or if I want to do something about it, and change it.

Identifying the Source of the Conflicting Emotions – From Without

So where does this come from?  Currently, I have narrowed this down to three main sources.  The first is way, way out of my control.

Not to put too fine a point on it – but –President Trump is a treasonous, self-serving, classist, racist, homophobic, narcissistic ass, single-handedly ruining our nation’s standing in the world.  As if that were not enough, Congress, a check in place to balance him, is doing nothing to stop him.  And they, too, are self-serving, heartless, money-grubbing assholes for the most part.

It is upsetting, depressing, enraging, and disheartening to continue to witness.  I can blog about it, participate in protests, work on being a light in the dark, and most importantly VOTE in the midterms and all other elections.  Aside from that…this is all outside of my control.

The second source is familial.  It’s a mix of misunderstanding, differences of opinion, poor communication, and a frequently delayed solution that is outside of anyone’s control at this point.  There is resentment, anger, accusations of selfishness on all sides, and a lot of deep-seated emotions.

This sort of disagreement is upsetting, depressing, infuriating, and overall unfortunate.  Apart from striving to keep the peace and remembering that despite our disagreements we are family, and we love one another as such, this is out of my control.

Identifying the Source of the Conflicting Emotions – From Within

The third source is me.  I look at everything that I have done up to this point in my life.  My actions, inactions, mistakes, triumphs, successes and failures, and still question everything.  Despite choosing a path of my own making, I still frequently question it.  I feel unworthy and undeserving of abundance, prosperity, and success.  There is still an underlying fear that I will be found-out to be a fake, no matter what aspect of my life I present – yes, this is imposter syndrome of which I write.

As my friends often postulate – feelings are stupid.  They get in the way of action.  Except, of course, they are a necessary aspect of manifestation through conscious reality creation.

The only thing I can control is how I feel.  So if I choose to feel bad, if I am choosing to hold onto emotions that do not serve me, whether they are about me or someone else, this is on me.

Ergo, it is wholly up to me to fix this.

Working Out the Conflicting Emotions

I know what they are.  I know where they originate.  The challenge now is to work this out.

Logically, I know that I can control how I feel.  Yes, there are things that happen that are from without, which will cause a feeling to come forth.  Often, this is legitimate.  Getting angry about the government, and feeling displeased with my family are a part of cause and effect.  However, how I deal with them, and how long I hold onto these feelings is entirely my decision.

Do I want to let anger, sadness, rage, annoyance, depression and other negative feelings dominate my thoughts?  Or do I choose to release them, and give thought to better outcomes?  It is a decision wholly mine to make.  And I always have the option to change my decision…or, as I have done in the past, decide not to decide at all.

Indecision is a choice.  I may decide not to choose, but that’s still a choice.  Frankly, it’s not a very helpful choice to make.

Logically, I know what I need to do.  But I think everyone knows that releasing deep, conflicted emotions is easier said than done.  I need to act.

Every manifestation is a product of thought, feeling, and action.  The thought is, I want to release this conflicting emotion.  What I need to feel is how much lighter and unburdened I feel when it is released.  To do that, I need to be in the now.  This is so simple, but so complicated.

Much, if not all of the conflict comes from past and future thoughts.  “If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.” – Lao Tzu.

The Present Can Address Conflicting Emotions

The action I need to take is to be aware.  I need to be present, in the here-and-now, rather than depressed about the past and anxious about the future.

To let go, I need to focus on the here-and-now.  There is no conflict in the now.  Knowing that, I have the opportunity to change, and hopefully repair my emotional state.  That is the action to be taken.  Be present, here-and-now – just BE.

How do you handle conflicting emotions?

Is There Really More Than Enough?

There is more than enough for everyone.

We live in an abundant universe.  There are more than enough resources, opportunities, companions, friends and lovers for everyone.

Material or immaterial, there is more than enough.  Money, cars, homes, food, clothing, joy, love, essentials and non-essentials, there is more than enough.

The biggest lie we are fed by those enjoying the illusion of being in power is that we do not have enough.  They use fear of a lack, scarcity, and an insufficient amount of whatever to control us.  Worse, with our modern tech and information systems, they don’t just feed us these things…they gorge us with them.  They fill us to overflowing with fear in order to control how we think.

More Than EnoughHow much attention do we give to the narcissist in the White House, his cronies, and other government officials?  We are bombarded with so much negativity about these leaders and the terrible, heartless, selfish things they do that they utterly dominate our thoughts.

Consciousness creates reality.  Give them all the attention, all the focus, and the awfulness overwhelms.  When we feel overwhelmed, and our thoughts get scattered, can you see how much easier we are to control?  We inadvertently cede things over to “them” while we attempt to recover.

This does not work.  Why?  Because nobody but you controls your thinking, unless you give control away.  We choose to believe the lie of lack and scarcity because we are not encouraged to think for ourselves.  We are discouraged from recognizing that all the amazing things we see certain people having, we can ALL have.

All the money.  All the joy.  The prosperity, the abundance, the time to be with our loved ones, peace and happiness.  There is truly more than enough for everyone.  Not recognizing this is a choice.

There is more than enough for you, for me, for everyone

We are fed a steady diet of fear by those we have given the illusion of power, because that lets them maintain control.  It is an amazing tool.  When we are afraid, we tend to give up much of our thought process.  We seek comforting, familiar things, and “they” tend to give us just enough to fix a moment in time…but maintain the underlying anxiety.

But we can choose to empower ourselves and see that there is more.  You are only stuck in the life you have if you believe you are.  We are only lacking if we choose to be.  We have a choice…but it is not a one-and-done matter.  It’s a daily choice.

More than Enough - PositivityChoose to be positive.  Make choices every day to learn, to grow, but most of all to empower yourself.  Look at all we have created as a species, and all that we are working on and developing.  Every single one of us has this sort of power…but we have to choose to take it, and employ it.

This is not a quick fix.  Sorry, but in reality there are almost no quick fixes with lasting effect.  But the daily practice if choosing to see more than enough for everyone, empowering ourselves, and finding positivity can and will change everything.

It may not be easy, but I for one believe it to be utterly worthwhile.  When you see there is more than enough, you will realize that almost anything is possible.

Decide, choose to think positive today and see what all is possible.

Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action.

Knowing that there is more than enough of both the material and the immaterial, we can choose to see the potential abundance all around us.  When we think abundance, and choose to build better rather than give away our thoughts to negativity or to “them”, we ultimately empower ourselves.

This is the two-hundred and thirty-second entry of my Positivity series.  It is my hope these weekly messages might help spread positive energies for everyone.  Feel free to share, re-blog and spread the positivity.

What is My Motivation?

What is my motivation?

This is not just a question an actor asks of their director…it is a question about life.  What is it that motivates me to do the things I do?

I am a writer and editor.  Writing is a craft I have been working on since I was nine years old, and truly focused on for about twenty years now.  My first editor taught me a tremendous amount about not just editing, but writing to its core, which is why I currently work as a professional editor.

What is My Motivation? The majority of my writing these days is this blog.  Three times a week, I present Positivity, Pathwalking and Crossing the Bridges.  All three of these topics feed into the overall message of this blog…Consciousness creates reality.

That is my motivation.  Striving to better consciously create my reality, and manifest the life I know is mine to be had.

So what exactly does that mean?

The reality we live in is an illusion that we create for ourselves.  As I wrote previously, “Reality is the creation of your consciousness.  My perception of reality is not yours, but we both exist within the same confines of the world upon which our core spirit energy, these luminous beings, exist in these bodies”

I want to live in a better reality…but not just for myself.  And that is what my motivation is.  This is something I apply not only to these blogs, but to all of my writing.

My motivation is to inspire

I want to do whatever I can to make this world a better place.  All of us deserve to have happiness, love, joy, support, and peace.  This is an abundant universe we live in.  The lack and scarcity of the world and from our leaders is manifested by individuals seeking power in the collective consciousness.  You and I get swept up in it, and people forget that they are empowered to choose for themselves.

These words are my journey, the bridges I cross as I strive to consciously create my reality and find what makes me feel joyful and alive.  It is my hope that I inspire you to seek your own reality, and to manifest for yourself things that are worthy and deserving of you.

Note the phrasing I used.  Worthy and deserving OF YOU, not the other way around.  You deserve and are worthy of an amazing, happy, fulfilling life.  Despite what the outside world and our society may present, you and I deserve to have awesomeness in our lives.  We can and should have the things that make us feel empowered, and like we can face anything that comes our way.

Even when I work on fiction writing, my motivation is to inspire the imagination.  I have so, so many stories in my head.  I do not give enough time and energy to working on these things as I should.  Whole worlds and numerous characters exist in my brain that really need to find their way to a screen or page.

Creative motivation

One of the reasons I write this stuff is because I want to excite my reader to expand their viewpoint, see worlds of imagination where reality is different from our own.  My motivation is to get more people to be creative.

I believe that every single person has some form of creativity within them.  Might be an art, or writing, or cooking, or sewing, playing an instrument or singing, improvisation, debate, exercise, or what-have-you.  But everyone has something creative inside of them.

If I can help bring that out, I believe that we can use our creativity to improve the world around us.  We can in turn inspire and motivate others to make the effort, and we can change individual realities for the better.  When each of us individually improves, in turn we can change the collective consciousness, and better the whole world.

Yes, I recognize that this may come across as very pie-in-the-sky, optimistic bullshit.  However, I prefer to believe that we can change things, and not that this is how it is and we have to just accept it.  No, I know that we are capable of creating better.  I’ve manifested it before…and I know that I can do it again.

And so can you.

Everyday motivation

We all have bad days.  There are difficulties and struggles both from within and without, which we may or may not have control over.  But we also have tools we can use to wrest back our control over our lives.  Gratitude, living in the now and being more aware of our conscious thoughts, feelings, and actions, can be powerful creators.

My ultimate motivation is to be the best me that I can be.  It is my hope that in working to do so, I can inspire and maybe motivate YOU to be the best you that you can be.  Together, we can make this world a better place for everyone in it.  That is a worthwhile endeavor.

Onwards and forwards.  As always, thank you for crossing the bridges between my worlds with me.

This is the ninety-fourth entry of my personal journey, the Crossing the Bridges series.  My collectively published writing can be found here.
