My life as an author

Today I'm guest blogging over at EditSchmedit!!  My life as a writer.I have been a writer my entire life. How do I know this? I remember as a kid my parents got me this book on how to draw animals step by step. I went around for weeks making books about farm animals (specifically goats, hey we lived on a goat farm at the time). I would illustrate them and write them, then bind them with a cardboard cover. Maybe that was when the bug hit me. I’m not sure.

Trolls unite and be douchebags together!

You know what I can't stand?
...
Fucking Trolls
They're all like:
and

and

Filthing up the internet together...

You know what I can deal with?Trolls taking shots at me.

You know what I can't deal with? You know what weighs heavily on my soul and breaks my heart?Getting a message from a fan in the middle of the night after a troll has hassled them online.

I mean, it's like I grew up but I'm really stuck in the 13th grade.

So, Dear Trolls, please stay in the gardens and under bridges and in the dark where you belong.
And get a life.

If I just learned to keep my mouth shut I'd have fewer moments like this...

If you've read The Phoenix Project books you are familiar with Stevie, Andie and Lina's pet dog. But did you know, Stevie's character is based on a real, live dog? Our own dog, Stevie!

She's a Shepadoodle (that's German Shepard and Standard Poodle mix)She's just as loyal and protective as she is in the book!We LOVE Stevie!

Crazy Things my Kid Says...

When doing homework: We were reading a book for school, in which a mystery animal ravaged a camp site. The book insinuated that it was a bear, all the questions at the end if the book said it was a bear. Yet my child argued that a bear has five claws, and so a bear could not have ravaged the campsite because the pictures only showed damage with four claw marks. Thus, she concluded that it must have been a badger and the book is wrong...
What do I say to that?

When playing at the park: "I found another kid to play with, but they were very unpleasant, so I went away from them."

When searching for worms to fish with: "You hop hop hop like a bird and then peck them out of the ground."

When I turned on Go Diego Go and it was the Spanish channel: "Mom... this is in a language that I do not speak. I have no idea what they're saying.

My daughter was complaining that her towel was too short. I told her to stop growing. Her response: "Mom! Growing is part of my life cycle!"

Seasonal Inspiration

Nothing is more inspiring than fall foliage. (Well...the snow is a close second!)I love to curl up with a cup of coffee and my laptop and write my day away.
