I’m a wife and mother who is a retired stay at home mom of 2. I say retired because my youngest is 14 and my oldest is 21 eeek. When my baby went to school, reading saved my sanity, and then the same year he started school, I was diagnosed with Cancer, again reading saved my sanity. When I recovered and realized how quickly life could change, I made a bucket list. The number one thing was to live. Check. On top of that list was to become a published author. Check. Eight years later I have accomplished that goal and several others. Now, I continue to add to the list and check them off as I go.I live in the Midwest, but I”m a southern girl with only a slight twang who says y’all quite frequently, and am known to say “Bless Your Heart” A LOT. If you know what that means, you do not want to be the one I say that to, lol. I cuss worse than if a trucker and a sailor were put together, but I do it with class *WEG*.

“Evie. God, Evie.” It was as if he was trying to envelope her with his arms, make her a part of him. Like he couldn't get close enough. He made a voice of frustration that almost sounded like he was in physical pain. “I’m sorry I can’t be what you want.” He spoke against the curve of her neck, his voice thick with emotion, and she cried as silently as she could, wanting him to let go of her, and yet praying he’d never let go of her.
Ford moved his hands to her shoulders and Evie heard him inhale slowly. He seemed to steel himself, and then his fingers tightened almost painfully into her skin. He pushed forward and shoved her to the bed, face down.
“I’m sorry,” he repeated, and now his voice was flat and emotionless again. Completely controlled. “This is the only thing I know how to be.” He placed one hand on the back of her neck, pinning her down, and one hand on her hip, lifting her butt in the air, molding his body to hers. He was hard.

It was an over done plot line and predictable. But, it was sweet. I loved seeing Roman change. My problem was Chris's character was under-developed. There wasn't much to like about them. The story moved quickly and at times, I felt lost as to how much time had passed. I think if this story was beefed up a little bit with some better details and stronger character development, it could be a 5 star read. As it is, it's just a sweet romance. I did enjoy that it was a sweet MM romance instead of an overly erotic one.

It's not sexy and dirty. There's slight violence, but it was actually funny. I love the characters. Each of them is different, funny and make this a great story. With a lot of cozy mysteries, they are transparent. You can see who the bad guy is almost from the beginning. This story had me guessing until the very end.
