DECISION PARALYSIS Is Now Available

Decision Paralysis Is Now AvailableDECISION PARALYSIS is now available to download for Kindle, Nook, iBooks, Google Play, Kobo, and Smashwords. It is also available in audio format from Audible, Amazon, and iTunes.

“Someone recently told me that human beings are constantly overwhelmed and exhausted these days because of the sheer number of decisions we are required to make in a day,” Isaac says. “I wondered what might happen if you were so overwhelmed by decisions that you ultimately snap. Then I wondered what it would be like if that snap happened at the worst possible time.”

DECISION PARALYSIS Synopsis

It’s easy to become overwhelmed to the point of paralysis these days. Just ask grade-schooler Tina. Better yet, ask Tina’s granny.

Her granny has had a rough time of late. First, Tina’s grandfather, the family decision maker, died. Next, her granny was saddled with having to care for granddaughter Tina while Tina’s mother went to work. That became especially burdensome after Tina’s bus driver forgot to drop her off from school one day. However, the worst day of her granny’s life was yet to come.

One afternoon Tina finds herself helplessly captive in the backseat of her granny’s Lincoln. She can only watch as the pressure of daily decision-making forces away the last of her granny’s sanity. Meanwhile, the Lincoln speeds and careens wildly down the streets of Tina’s hometown with Tina trapped in the backseat and her granny paralyzed behind the wheel.

Can Tina help her granny break free from her spiral in time to save both their lives?

The decision is in her hands.

DECISION PARALYSIS is now available from ebook and audiobook retailers. It is a short tale of dark horror from the mind of Isaac Thorne. We all make hundreds of decisions per day. It’s only a matter of time before the process eats us all alive.

DIGGUM Finalist In Crimson Horror Film Festival and 13Horror.com Screenplay Contest

2017 Crimson Screen Film Festival FinalistIsaac Thorne’s screenplay adaptation of DIGGUM, a short tale of dark horror, has been named a finalist for unproduced short screenplay in the 2017 Crimson Screen Horror Film Festival. In addition, DIGGUM was a finalist in the 13Horror.com screenplay competition.

“I’m truly excited about the attention my screenplay adaptation of DIGGUM is receiving from film festivals,” Isaac says. “I was honored that DIGGUM was chosen as a finalist in the 13horror contest, and I’m looking forward to hearing the results of the Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest as well.”

About DIGGUM’s Finalist Status

To date, DIGGUM has been recognized five times. The screenplay won BEST VIOLENCE in the 2017 Chemical Film Festival. In addition, it has been nominated for best screenplay in the iHorror Awards. The screenplay was also nominated for BEST SHORT SCRIPT in the 2017 February Independent Horror Movie Awards.

About DIGGUM

DIGGUM is a short tale of dark horror from the mind of Isaac Thorne. It is available in short story format as an ebook and an audiobook from ebook retailers. After he released the short story, Isaac adapted it into a 30-minute screenplay format. The screenplay is currently unproduced.

“From the beginning, I thought DIGGUM would make a great television short for something like a TWILIGHT ZONE or TALES FROM THE CRYPT,” Thorne says. “I could also see it as its own standalone piece. I imagine it as what I would call a semi-animated format. The way I picture it is primarily line drawing stills with voiceover, but the stills would occasionally feature a single element of animation. Sketches of DIGGUM’s memories as he tells the story, basically. I’d love to see DIGGUM drawn in the style of Robert Kirkman’s THE WALKING DEAD. That’s how I see him in my head.”

In addition to the Chemical Film Festival award, the screenplay adaptation of DIGGUM has been accepted as a nominee in the iHorror Awards. The winners of the iHorror Awards will be announced by iHorror later in March.

Although the screenplay is unproduced, a trailer for the ebook version of DIGGUM is available on YouTube:

DIGGUM Screenplay Adaptation Accepted to 2017 iHorror Awards

iHorror Awards Nominee LaurelOn January 21, 2017, the iHorror Awards notified Isaac Thorne that his screenplay adaptation of his short tale of dark horror DIGGUM had been accepted for consideration in the 2017 iHorror Awards. For the first time, the iHorror Awards accepted submissions from independent writers and filmmakers. It was this news that prompted Isaac to adapt one of his own works into a 30-minute screenplay.

“I had a blast reading an audio version of DIGGUM for Audible,” Isaac explains. “But I always envisioned this story as headed for the screen, so I also developed a screenplay version of it. I originally intended for the screenplay to result in an animated short, but I also think it could also easily be filmed as live action.”

DIGGUM is the story of a small town cemetery caretaker who is waging a secret war against God. Prior to his caretaker job, Diggum was a farmer. Unfortunately, he watched helplessly as his wife and son were burned to death. His own belief systems cause him to resent not only their untimely deaths, but also their ability to enter the afterlife. Therefore, Diggum blames God for parting him from his family forever.

“The original story is told directly by Diggum, from his own point of view,” Isaac says. “The cool thing about doing a screenplay version is that I could tell the story again with a slightly varied perspective. Diggum still narrates, but instead of always being directly inside Diggum’s head, you get to know who he is and what his objectives are by actually seeing his memories as well as his actions in current time.”

The screenplay adaptation of DIGGUM was submitted for the Short Horror Screenplay category. The awards take place online March 29, 2017. More information about iHorror and the awards can be found at their web site or by following them on Twitter or Facebook.

Audio Book Versions of Two Stories Now Available

On Jan. 12, 2017, Isaac Thorne released two new audio book versions of his short tales of dark comic horror. The audio book versions of both NOBODY WAS HERE and THE MURDER OF CROWS are now available from Amazon.com and Audible.com. The release of each audio book to iTunes is forthcoming.

“I’m happy to finally bring these two stories to the audio book format,” Isaac says of the new releases. “It’s taken some time, but I think what I’ve released here might be helpful to those who want a little dose of horror during their morning or afternoon commutes. Each of these tales clocks in at under an hour.”

Isaac narrated each of the new audio book versions himself. The audio book versions of NOBODY WAS HERE was can be downloaded directly from Amazon or from Audible.com. Similarly, the audio book versions of THE MURDER OF CROWS can be downloaded directly from Amazon.com or from Audible.com.

Audio Book Versions of Nobody Was Here Synopsis

There are monsters of this world.

They look like us. They behave like us. They even have dreams and ambitions like us. But they are not us.

At least, we do not like to think so.

Sometimes, as is the case with traveling family man Reed Reese, we are confronted by these monsters. Usually when we are most vulnerable. They might not even view it as a confrontation, but we do.

It ultimately leads to what all confrontations lead to: a fight or a flight. Sometimes one of those options is forced upon us. This is one of those times.

Lurid, engrossing, and NOT for the faint of stomach, NOBODY WAS HERE is a short tale of dark comic horror that might make you nervous about your next pit stop along a rural stretch of Southern interstate. There is no rest at this exit. In fact, you’ll be lucky if you even get to relieve yourself.

There is but one certainty when that heavy men’s room door whooshes closed behind you.

You’ll never be the same.

Audio Book Versions of The Murder of Crows Synopsis

In a near future of zero tolerance, Big Brother is not entirely born of the government. He is also your local news. Or your social media friends and followers. Perhaps he’s your neighbors. Everything you say and do is monitored and judged. Almost overnight, the fabric of society has dissolved into a culture of carrions: a murder of crows.

It was only a matter of time before someone found a way to capitalize on it.

Meet Internet, television, and radio sensation Nick Saint, a man who has built a media empire off the public shaming of both celebrities and average joes. Lately Nick has noticed a disturbing trend emerging from the culture he’s spent so many hard hours at work perpetuating. The crows are no longer interested in the food he’s providing, and scavenging for the dirty deeds of others is getting more difficult now that all the world has learned to watch their Ps and Qs.

Can Nick continue to find fresh corpses for his starving flocks to feed on? Or will they finally turn on him instead?

THE MURDER OF CROWS is a short tale of dark comic anxiety from the mind of Isaac Thorne, a nice man who simply wants to provide you with a few fun frights. A satire of modern media and popular culture, in which people are products and their imperfect humanity is entertainment, THE MURDER OF CROWS attempts to follow the trend to what could be its ultimate end.
