Isaac Releases New Short Story for Friday the 13th

[image error]Friday the 13th comes in October this year, and what better way to celebrate than to release a brand new short tale of dark comic horror? On October 13, 2017, Isaac Thorne releases his newest, never-before-published tale titled PLANT.

The title is already available for download in ebook format from amazon.com for USD 99 cents. However, subscribers to Isaac’s email newsletter can nab the title free of charge by following the instructions within the newsletter that will go out on Friday morning.

If you are not yet signed up to receive Isaac’s email newsletter, you can do so by visiting this page on isaacthorne.com. The newsletter typically goes out once per month, but because October saw the release of Isaac’s new collection of short tales and a Friday the 13th, Isaac thought it was important to celebrate.

About Friday the 13th

It’s not just a movie franchise. Friday the 13th has become associated with a day of bad luck, if you’re the superstitious sort. You can read all about it at Wikipedia. Typically, there are two Friday the 13ths per year. In addition to this October’s, there was one in January 2017.

About PLANT

Joe Cannon is a good ole boy, a Southern Tennessee Democrat made good. He’s confident in who he is and he knows who he wants to be. All the personal failures and vices that might have once stood in the way of his climb up the political ladder are far in the past.

But Joe has a problem. He’s not sure he’s done a very good job of raising his daughter. Rachel not only disagrees with him politically but also has all the bad personal habits and vices he tried hard to leave behind. Joe often fears his daughter will harm his career.

One night, when he returns to his capitol building office to do some thinking about how to best ensure his daughter’s choices do not affect his own future, Joe is confronted by a dark figure. The man in the shadows seems to know far too much about his personal history for Joe’s comfort. More than that, he seems to be threatening Joe’s life.

Can Joe escape the shadows of his past and prevent himself from getting killed in the process?

Isaac Reviews Films for The Horrorcist

Recently, Isaac Thorne agreed to help horror podcaster The Horrorcist review screeners for his website at TheHorrorcist.com. He is joining a roster of horror reviewers that includes The Horrorcist himself, Zobo with a Shotgun, and others. Isaac’s first review was for the Christopher Ray/James Cullen production titled Circus Kane. That was followed recently by a review for two short films slated to appear at GrimmFest. Those films are Lieven Vanhove’s Nimmer and Alberto Viavattene’s Birthday.

“It’s been fun watching these independent horror films and giving my take on them,” Isaac says. “The Horrorcist is perfectly generous in allowing his reviewers to express themselves appropriately for the material being reviewed. I’m happy to be able to contribute.”

Currently, Isaac plans to offer up a new review on a monthly basis, although he does not intend to restrict himself to that schedule should an urgent need to opine arise.”

About The Horrorcist

The Horrorcist is a writer and podcaster whose passion for horror movies began when he was a child. His podcast features interviews with horror authors, directors, and actors in addition to news items about upcoming horror films.

Isaac On DON’T GO DOWN THAT ROAD and DEMONIC PODCAST

Isaac appeared on two horror podcasts recently: DON’T GO DOWN THAT ROAD, with John and Rachel, and THE DEMONIC PODCAST with The Horrorcist.

“I’ve been a fan of John and Rachel’s podcast for a while now,” he explains. “They have a unique format for a horror podcast. They complement each other, with John providing puns, Rachel providing giggles, and both of them providing sarcastic takes on whatever they happen to have watched. I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in their show.”

Meanwhile, The Horrorcist’s THE DEMONIC PODCAST is a relatively new show.

“I was excited to be an early guest on The Horrorcist’s program,” Isaac says. “His format is shorter than many horror podcasts, but it’s interesting and fun. He does interviews with people in the horror community, along with some discussions of folklore and real-life horror.”

Isaac Appears on DON’T GO DOWN THAT ROAD

Isaac sat down to discuss two semi-related (but not really) movies with John and Rachel, the hosts of DON’T GO DOWN THAT ROAD. The trio viewed BLOOD PREDATOR (2007) and SHE CREATURE (2001), then pit them against each other. If you’ve seen both films, you probably know which one came out on top. You can catch John and Rachel on Twitter at DGDTRPodcast or on their site.

Isaac Appears on The Horrorcist’s THE DEMONIC PODCAST

The Horrorcist, host of THE DEMONIC PODCAST, interviewed Isaac for the third episode of his horror podcast. You can listen to episodes of THE DEMONIC PODCAST at The Horrorcist’s place on the web or subscribe on iTunes. Isaac and The Horrorcist discussed horror in general and Isaac’s work in particular.

Road Kills Paperback

On October 1, 2017, Isaac Thorne’s collection of short tales of dark comic horror, ROAD KILLS, will be available at retailers everywhere in both paperback and ebook formats. ROAD KILLS combines all eight of Isaac’s previously released short tales along with three new and previously unreleased stories. In addition, the tome features, for the very first time, the award-winning screenplay adaption of DIGGUM, Isaac’s short tale of dark horror about a cemetery caretaker at war with God.

“I’m excited about this collection,” Isaac says. “It’s been a long time coming. Personally, I love reading books on my Kindle, but I know there are a great many horror fans out there who prefer a more physical format.

“Until now, I had only ever released my work in ebook form because I didn’t feel the cost of printing justified the release of my short tales of dark horror as individual paperbacks. Now that I have a number of stories with a related theme–the road–I can release this collection both digitally and physically.”

ROAD KILLS Synopsis

Anyone who has ever fallen off a bike and skinned a knee can tell you that a road is a dangerous place. You can break a bone or crack your skull open barreling down some stretch of interstate at 70 miles-per-hour in a cage of steel, fiberglass, plastic, and rubber.

Right now you are safe. You can comfort yourself by reading this book while curled up on your bed or in your favorite chair. Just don’t forget about what’s waiting for you just beyond the edge of your driveway.
