BLURB

He’s a killer…
Through the ages, deadly Guardian Týr watches over the mortal realm with a sword that is as blood-drenched as his soul in his quest for vengeance—his sarcasm a shield for the deepening hell inside him. Until one glimpse of a breathtaking, carefree female stops him dead in his tracks…but she’s the one person he can never have. Still, she has to be the most exasperating female on the planet, with a tendency to land herself in sticky situations.

She’s happiness incarnate…
Bumping shoulders with intractable immortals is not Kira Smith’s idea of fun. An unfortunate encounter with a certain annoying, über hot warrior undoes all her hard work, and the homeless boy she rescued escapes back into the demon-infested alleys. Kira’s determined to find the child—even if it means tolerating the arrogant, know-it-all as a bodyguard.

For her, he’ll break every rule…
Thrown together in this treacherous hunt, long suppressed emotions unravel. Týr will do anything to claim the woman who stirs his deepest desire and Kira longs to succumb to the happiness she finds in him. But Fate isn’t always kind, revealing a dark destiny that could very well tear them apart…

Chapter 1

The castle pulsated as if happiness exploded through it.

Flowers were everywhere. Even the windowsills of the back stairwell hadn’t escaped the intruders.

Týr tugged off the tie constricting his windpipe as he jogged up the narrow steps to the second level, nearly knocking the purple and white joys of nature spilling from the vases to the floor. Hell, a person could suffocate from all the gaiety floating around. The things he endured for his fellow Guardians.

Blaéz and Darci had tied the knot earlier that evening. Sure, he was happy for them, but all this cheeriness abraded his psyche like sandpaper. Two minutes tops, and he was outta here.

Sounds of footsteps. Dagan’s quiet voice drifted to him. “You’re heading out on patrol?”

Damn. His escape hadn’t gone unnoticed. “Yeah.” Týr didn’t look back, just continued upward.

“This event’s certainly been an eye-opener.”

More convo he didn’t want. Especially of this sort. “Why? You gonna follow soon? Not sure of your mate yet?”

Dagan snorted. “We’re fine.”

The male knew him well enough not to rise to his baiting. Týr was grateful that they’d finally put aside the eons-old cold silence between them, but he wasn’t in the mood for chit-chat. The tension in him grew, stirring the raucous rustling in his skull—a harbinger of a time he didn’t want to remember. As if he could ever escape those memories.

Tie dangling from his fist, he strode down the softly lit corridor to his quarters and shut the door behind him. The oppressive stillness of the darkened room grated on him, as did all the love in the air downstairs. With his mind, he flipped on the music system in the living room, and the thumping sounds of Metallica reverberated against the wall, crashing into his head.

Since his heightened senses made everything clear as fuck, he didn’t bother with the lights and made his way to the door past the huge fireplace.

In his gloomy dressing room, he flung the tie on the dresser, the tuxedo he’d worn as best man following seconds later. Exhaling deeply, Týr rubbed his face, his palms brushing his jaw. He grimaced at the sharp sting of the arc-shaped wound there. Two days, and it still hadn’t healed. Fury slid through him, dark and deadly. The asshole who’d dared mark him had hidden under cover of night like a fucking coward. But Týr was patient. No enemy escaped him for long. Ever.

He opened the closet running the length of the wall, got out his leathers, a black Henley, and boots. Back in the familiar comfort of his patrolling gear, biker jacket in hand, he switched off the music and headed out. His footsteps thudded on the marble floors of the elegant corridor, dotted sporadically by old suits of armor and priceless paintings on the cream walls.

Yo, Norse, you heading out on patrol? Aethan mind-linked with him.

Yeah.

You with Ely tonight?

Damn, Týr’d forgotten about their newest Guardian recruit and his babysitting duties. He’d have to put tracking the shadowy bastard on the backburner for tonight. Might as well get in his turn. Sure.

As Týr rounded the balustrade to the main stairs, he easily picked up on the chatter and laughter from the guests lingering in the rec room on the ground level where the reception had taken place.

Hell, the wedding was over. They should all go home.

A light, familiar fragrance drifted to him, and Týr slowed, his stomach twitching. In the last couple of days, the scent had enclosed him like a net, as if trapping him in a sun-drenched meadow.

Hers. A precursor to happiness.

The female appeared immersed in the sentiment, dragging joy with her wherever she went. Even his fury at his stalker subdued a little.

Another reason he had to get outta here, back to the alleyways where danger trawled in the shadows. He needed to find his normal again—far more preferable.

“Hedori, please, I need to leave.”

“I wish I could help you, Kira, but it’s impossible right now.”

Yep, their butler, all-round handyman, and sometimes mates’ bodyguard, possessed a helluva lot of patience. If it were him, he’d tell her to chill. There’d been a wedding, an unprecedented event at the castle, and Hedori had things to oversee.

Pleeease, Heds,” she wheedled. “It’s urgent.”

Týr snorted. Feminine wiles, the most dangerous weapon of all. He’d found that out in the hardest possible way a long time ago.

But she sure seemed desperate.

What was so important anyway? It wasn’t even ten yet. Maybe she had another ridiculous, drivel-filled novel to nosedive into or…she’d had enough of his magnificent company this evening.

Nah. Everyone loved his awesomeness.

With wry amusement, he headed down the grand staircase that spilled out onto the huge foyer. The tiered chandelier cast prisms of light over the colorful stained-glass windows running from floor to ceiling. And, along with the usual verdant plants in the foyer, the new invaders—tall, pewter vases, overflowing with various shades of purple flowers—took up space.

Yup, eye-catching, and the perfect backdrop for the she-devil who stood there, her curvy figure clad in a slinky lilac bridesmaid’s gown. Her dark auburn hair had been pulled into some kind of topknot. Sure, she was breathtaking, he wasn’t blind, just messed up in the head. But that sharp tongue of hers usually ruined the effect of her beauty.

As Týr jogged down to the ground floor, Hedori acknowledged him with a nod, and the ice queen who’d reigned during the reception and tacitly ignored his provocations turned, too. Her hazel-green eyes flared in irritation, the color a startling contrast to her luscious, creamy-latte skin.

“Sire, we have a bit of a situation,” Hedori said. “With the fae here, and guests still about, I cannot leave the castle just yet. Would you take Kira home?”

“No-no, Heds,” she quickly countered. “I’ll wait for you.”

He should leave, walk out. Aethan or another could take her, but Týr couldn’t resist. “Ah, Fluff, you wound me. Truly.”

Her head snapped his way. “Yes…maybe, if I thought for one second there was a heart or soul buried somewhere deep down under that shell,” she said sweetly, tone spiked with venom. She faced Hedori again, sweet as treacle. “How long do you think you’ll be?”

Hiding his amusement, Týr sighed loudly as if put out. “C’mon, Fluff, let’s get you home.”She pivoted so fast, fingers fisting as if she wanted to punch him. “Call me that again, and I swear, I’ll—”

Liza ‘O Connor’s latest release: Easy Love

A Risqué Contemporary Romance

BLURB

Four years after Angel marries David, she discovers he has fallen for Angel’s best friend, Jean. Instead of fighting for his love, she generously gives him up and assures him he can still be father to her five-year-old son, Stevie. After they divorce, David constantly bullies and berates her. When her son declares he wants to live with David and Jean, Angel hits rock bottom. Max Straun advises her to take a vacation, so she heads off to Scotland. Max sends one of his agents, Jeff Rosen, to be her ‘roommate’. Jeff does a fabulous job cheering her up as he expands her horizons in the process.

When Angel returns from her vacation, she goes directly into the secret facility that houses the Carnivore Program. She’s determined she can endure the efforts taken to secure and protect Carnivore this time, only the efforts have intensified. Soon, Angel needs a break, and she’s sent back to her home, which is now home to eleven FBI agents. She soon has multiple lovers to ensure she is never without a man. Ironically, she has selected men who can never be more than casual lovers due to their own situations and commitments.

Eventually, the kidnaping of her son, and an unexpected pregnancy helps her come to terms with her life. She no longer wants ‘many easy loves’. Angel longs for a deep, strong love with one very fine man. But it’s quite possible the man she wants won’t want her. If so, she’ll just go it alone.

EXCERPT

Max Straun found Angel at the bottom of a steep trail, sitting on a rock at the water’s edge.

“That trail is beyond dangerous,” he complained.

She glanced at his expensive and now scuffed dress shoes. Her eyes followed up to his dirt covered suit pants.

“You could have just put the milk in the fridge.”

“Without getting paid, not a chance.” He studied the rock beside her. “This job pays little enough as it is.” He pulled off his shoes and socks, sat down beside her and dipped his feet in the water.

“Your wool pants are—” she was going to say ‘getting wet.’

He cut her off with an acerbic, “…ruined beyond repair.”

She sighed. “I’d apologize, but I’m sick of apologizing. Evidently, I just don’t do anything right these days.”

“Stevie giving you a rough time?”

She looked away, determined not to burst into tears. “You could say that. Last week he said he didn’t love me anymore because I had driven his dad away. Today, when David came to pick him up for the weekend, he drags out this giant trunk filled with all his favorite things and announces he doesn’t want to live with me anymore.”

Max wrapped his arm around her and let her sob pitifully on his chest.

“Kids can be really stupid.”

“Well, so can mothers. I just lost it and screamed at him to take the trunk back upstairs because he wasn’t going anywhere and could spend the weekend in his room. This, of course, caused him to scream in return that he hated me, and he wanted Jean to be his mother because she was fun and happy and all I ever did was cry and make him sad.”

“What was David doing during all this?” Max asked, betraying his annoyance.

“Being an excellent imitation of a statue,” she muttered. “When I finally yelled at David to help me, he told Stevie to leave the trunk and go get in the car. Once Stevie left the room, he gave me a lecture that I couldn’t go on like this, and suggested I see a shrink to get my head on straight before I permanently destroyed my relationship with Stevie.”

Max’s sigh was more of a growl of displeasure.

“Do you think I need a shrink, Max?”

He paused before answering. “I think you need a change of scenery. You need to get off this mountain and do something you want to do. Just leave that little monster with David and Jean. I can tell you this, David will not put up with such atrocious behavior. It will do them both good to have an extended visit, and it will do you good as well. Having someone you love chisel away at you every day would demoralize anyone.”

“Max, don’t call my child a monster.”

“You know me—I tell it as it is. For years, I’ve called him spoiled, and with this divorce, he has upgraded himself to monster.”

She cupped her hand in the water and splashed him in the face.

New Release: A Ghost Walker’s Love Story by Liza O’ Connor

I have Liza O’ Connor on my blog today.

Check out her latest release!

What happened to Jack? He started out a hero.

At first Jack appears to be a great, sincere guy. He and Alice become partners in solving crimes. She would discover a crime about to happen, share it with Jack and give him information she shouldn’t know.

Since she could listen to the criminal’s plans, headcount the men, assess the explosives while never being seen, her info was remarkable. Yet, still Jack would tell her he would not normally accept such weak information. This should have been her first warning that Jack wasn’t the hero she thought. (Unfortunately, she had already fallen in love with him.)

Jack had been on top of his game before Alice came into his life. A man like Jack loved his job far more than any woman. (There were early clues of this, only Alice ignored them.)

When the head of the FBI wanted Alice captured so they could control her, it didn’t take long for Jack to fall in line and see here as a tool. All they had to do was take away his self-esteem by giving him no more cases to work.

Fortunately, when she learned he intended to have the same doctor that tortured Tobias to torture her, she disappeared.

Even though she finally realizes that her relationship with Jack will never work, she still lets him know about the lunatics in NJ and then saves him from dying in the blast. However, she then wisely leads him to believe she’s dead.

So even when Jack survives, he believes she died saving him.

He remains hideous to look at now.

And still, he cannot be trusted.

Tobias only helped save the children because Alice insisted. Despite the fact he hates Jack, Tobias helped the FBI save the Malaysian children. Then Jack, wanting to be back on top, sends out agents to search for Tobias in the hospital. Had they found and captured him, they would have tried to control him as well.

This leaves me to conclude Jack was NEVER a good man

BLURB

Alice is a ghost walker: an ordinary person capable of separating her soul from her body. Unlike her fellow ghost walkers, she uses her ability trying to help protect the world from terrorists and madmen. Finding an FBI agent that she trusts, she supplies the information needed to stop several atrocities from occurring.

She believes she is safe from discovery. However, agent Jack Callaghan finds her with clever sleuthing and romances her with pure intent. Unfortunately, their unexpected union brings wrath down upon them from all sides. Her fellow ghost walkers believe she has betrayed their code of secrecy; the director and fellow agents question Jack’s commitment to the agency, and want Alice brought in so they can discover how she disappears at will. In this maelstrom of betrayals, Alice uncovers the truth about the three men who claim to love her and discovers which one holds true.

Warning: Alice is so dedicated to stopping terrorists that she will let nothing get in her way, not even when she discovers her body is being used against her will. Since she’s not in her body when this happens, saving lives remains far more important!

EXCERPT

The techie had Jack place his hands on a black tablet, while David explained the situation. “Your hands no longer have clear finger prints, however, your scars are unique, so this should still work. Once the data is uploaded into the PC and our database, this PC will recognize your handprints as they are now.”

“Why don’t you just use eye recognition?” Jack challenged.

“We’ll do that as well. Eye recognition will be required to turn on the PC. Once it recognizes you, you can work on your pc. But if for any reason you leave your pc, it will shut down and you will have go through the startup process again.

“Also, if both of your palms lift from the bottom pads for more than three seconds, then the screen will go black. To turn the screen back on, you must return your hands back to the PC and stare into the camera because you will require another retinal scan.

Jack grumbled about the inconvenience.

“Sorry Jack, but this is an unsecured environment. I need to take precautions, which means you need to sign one of these two papers. The one in my right is your reinstatement as a Special Agent. The other, in my left hand, is a consulting agreement.”

Jack pointed to the left hand and carefully read the agreement.

“I’d really prefer you sign the other.”

“And give up my retirement for this tipster? Not a chance. There is a strong possibility he’s toying with you, and I’m not giving up a guaranteed paycheck for nothing. Now, I will try and turn this source around for you, but I’m not ready to cash in my retirement yet.”

“Fair enough.”

The Extraordinary Life of Amy Winston, Book 3

Like many young men with domineering fathers, John Marsh has no say to his life, and it makes him very angry. His father chooses his clothes, even his dance partners. Unfortunately, his father has other plans.

BLURB

Excerpt

Amy took his hand and kissed it. “Thank you for telling me the whole story.”

“Why’s that?”

“Because it showed me a much finer person than I thought you to be.”

He turned away from her and looked out into the garden. “How do you know I didn’t make the whole thing up, to do just that?”

She stroked his arm dislodging a dog hair.

He stared at it. “The pups don’t shed hair, so that proves nothing.”

Amy laughed softly.

“What is so funny?”

“You are. You use the existence of the pups in your denial that they exist. You cannot claim they do not shed, if you are claiming they do not exist.”

Her argument was interrupted by a scratching noise over their heads and a moment later a small toy poodle tunneled its way down the wisteria vine growing on the arbor beams. They watched as the small white spot floated across the garden to the south side and disappeared.

“May I see the pups some day?”

“I’ll give you one of the sad creatures if you wish. Otherwise, I’ll be stuck with twelve of the silly things.”

“Ah yes, I can see your selfish motivation. Eleven are so much easier to care for than twelve.”

Finally, he laughed and faced her. “I like you.” He declared this as if the possibility surprised him greatly.

“If you didn’t think you’d like me, why were you so determined to dance with me?”

“Because Darby liked you. I make it a point to steal away any lady he looks at.”

“What do you have against Darby?”

John sighed. “I hate him.”

“Yes, I see that, but why?”

“Because he gets to do whatever the hell he likes, while not a single decision in my life is my own. I don’t even get to pick out my own clothes.”

“I suppose that is the downside of being spoiled, everything is done for you.”

His eyes narrowed, letting her know he did not like being called ‘spoiled.’ “I won’t deny that I was spoiled as a boy, but it has been many years since my life shifted from getting everything I wanted to nothing. About the time I reached fifteen, my father despaired I was not a suitable young man and took over my reins with a heavy bit. For twelve years, I have done everything he asks, and still he hates everything about me. He selects my clothes, my friends, even the young ladies I am allowed to meet. I am twenty-seven-years-old and I had more freedom when I was eight! If it were possible to toss me aside and take another son, I’ve no doubt he would. But since he’s stuck with me, he’s determined to make my life utter hell.”

“I’m sorry, but if it is any consolation, the suit looks very nice on you. I also think Darby would make you a fine friend if you’d stop stealing his lady friends. And while I cannot imagine why your father wishes you to dance with me, I look forward to the dance all the same, because contrary to my expectations, I find I like you very much.”

A Fallen Guardian Novella

by Georgia Lyn Hunter

Genre: Paranormal Romance

BLURB

It should have been the happiest time of their lives…

As a Guardian of the realm, Blaéz is aware of the danger that can shadow him, but he’s determined to give his human mate the wedding of her dreams. Flowers, ring, and all, including following a baffling mortal tradition of abstinence—a challenge he gamely takes on.

Then the past and future clash…

Things start to unravel when an old adversary from an accursed life he thought long over suddenly reappears. Blaéz realizes it’s a tie he must sever and finally put an end to a longstanding feud. A straightforward job…until his vindictive nemesis snatches his mate.

It’s a time of reckoning…

Blaéz will risk and do anything to get her back. But first, he must face his own dark and painful past to have a future with the one woman who is his very heartbeat.

If he doesn’t, it just might destroy everything he’s fought for…

As they passed the bikers hanging near the motorcycles and puffing up a pungent storm of smoke, Blaéz slowed down, scanning the side street. At the sudden prickles coasting his skin, he changed direction and headed deeper into the alley instead of finding a darkened place to dematerialize back home. Away from the humans, he moved in preternatural speed, skirting the dumpsters and several fallen crates spilled in his path.

“O-kay, so we’re heading for Club Anarchy instead of the castle.” Týr’s droll tone drifted to him. “You need…entertaining?”

“Not at all.” Blaéz halted, the itch bearing down his back intensifying. He searched the dark alley with its looming warehouses. “Something doesn’t feel right, and hasn’t for a while.”

“Well, then, let’s find out what shit’s stirring and clean it out.” A dark grin appeared. “It’s been my kinda week. Blood, gore, and chances of more decapitation? Perfect.”

Blaéz shook his head at Týr’s penchant for bloody violence and surveyed the rooftops of the warehouses. “You sure have a way with words. Hallmark should be grateful they don’t have you on their team.”

“Maybe I’ll compose a sonnet for the wedding.”

Blaéz heard the smirk in his tone. “Like I want to hear your drivel.”

“Don’t knock my verse ‘til you’ve heard it, you uneducated SOB,” he retorted, and cheerfully strolled where even angels feared to tread. “Roses are red, violets are blue—”

“For fuck’s sakes! They’re bloody purple.”

“Stop with the interruptions. Don’t care if they’re pink, it’s how the damn rhyme goes. Roses are red, violets are blue, Darci’s so lovely, how in the hell did she end up with a fucker like you—” His amused gaze shifted to Blaéz. “Okay, it needs some fine-tuning, but I should be good to go on the big day.”

“Not if you want to keep your head.” Blaéz slowed down, his attention on the throng of people lumbering out of the club. A flash of light hair caught his gaze and an eerily familiar sensation skated over his psyche. “Shit.”

“What?” Týr asked, scanning the crowd, too.

Without answering, Blaéz took off across the street. Since the demon bouncers knew the Guardians, he sprinted into the club, avoiding the partygoers in the dimly lit corridor, and shoved the metal door open. The pounding rock music reverberating against the walls barely made an impact as he dodged bodies fumbling about in the darkened club, skidding to a halt on the landing. He scanned the interior. Despite the imminent arrival of closing time, the place still swarmed with revelers.

“Fuck, Celt, who the hell are we chasing? At least then I know whom to kill,” Týr growled from his side.

“I’m not sure…I think I saw Finnén.”

Týr cut him a sharp look. “Your twin?”

His expression grim, Blaéz nodded, probing the upper VIP level with his mind for his kin’s familiar vibe.

“Perhaps you saw someone else who looks like him?”

“Perhaps. He wouldn’t dare show his face in this realm knowing I wouldn’t hesitate to kill him if he came after us again.”

Absolute Surrender Echo MineBreaking FateGuardian Unraveled

For You, I Will is a companion novella to Breaking Fate. Here’s the blurb…

An immortal without a soul is bad enough. But when his only tether to remaining honorable is his addiction to bone-crushing pain, it makes Blaéz a dangerously loose cannon.

A Guardian sworn to protect mortals from supernatural evil, Blaéz straddles the edge of darkness as his needs grow. When a good deed brings him to the doorstep of a female unlike any other, one whose touch ignites emotions long lost in the hellish pits of Tartarus, he’s determined not to lose her. She belongs to him. But she’s human. Forbidden. And bringing her into his life may just destroy them both.

Darci Callahan has given up on love. When a lethally handsome stranger suddenly appears late one night, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to the captivating man with the pale, empty eyes—a man who awakens in her a desire she never believed possible. Except Blaéz brings more than unexpected passion to her life, he brings danger.

In this treacherous new world of gods and demons, Darci soon discovers a heart-shattering truth and the twisted games the gods play. Caught in the crosshairs, she’s forced to accept that, sometimes, no matter how much you love someone, you have to love them enough to let them go…

I’ve been creating stories from the moment I could string two words together. No matter the tale, it always has romance woven through them. Yes, I’m a hopeless romantic.

When I’m not writing or plotting new books, I like to read, travel, painting, or troll flea markets where I usually buy things I might never actually use because they’re so pretty.

After working in a few jobs all art related, a chosen career as a fashion designer, then an art teacher, I finally found my passion four years ago: writing. There really is no other job I’d rather do.

Oh, and I live in the beautiful country of South Africa.
