enjoy :)

Breaking Fate:

A scene between Michael, the Guardian’s leader and Blaéz after he deliberately missed a meeting.

‘Michael strode into the gym, circled the heavy equipment and sat across from Blaéz on a workout bench. The old tee he wore looked like the moths had a great time feasting on it. It didn’t surprise Blaéz the archangel was still here, when he rarely stayed at the castle. It was expected after missing the ‘chat’ last night.

Well, he’d been busy…stalking. He couldn’t make the meet.

Michael’s eerie blue eyes settled on him. “What’s going on?”

Time for his grilling or whatever got Michael in a knot since last night. With no way to escape this one-on-one crap with the snarly male, Blaéz said, “You know what I am. Why the questions now?”

Michael snatched up a three hundred pound weight and began his arm curls. “For centuries, every few months you disappear for days at a time. I gave you space, understood you needed it. But that time in Tartarus has long passed. You’re losing all your cognitive skills, ones that make you a Guardian. Sure, you do the job, but there’s a lack of care now.”

Blaéz heard the question. Maybe he should have felt guilty that he cared so little about his own health, his life. After all, Michael had given up more than his status as the leader of the archangels, lost something irreplaceable to free him—free all of them from that hellish hole. And he’d chosen to stay on as their leader. Why would anyone want to take charge of moody, temperamental fallen ex-gods? Blaéz had no idea.

Still, Blaéz could never reveal the reality of what he’d done…still did. The truth would crush them.

He functioned on automaton in his role as a Guardian. It’s why meeting Darci and the emotions that unfurled so briefly, yanked him by the balls at the truth of what he truly was—

“You’re becoming self-destructive,” Michael growled.

He was way past self-destructive.

He reeked of Hell.

Couldn’t the Arc smell it on him?’

That’s it for now. Have  a great day :)

Meet my Characters blog hop: Reynner and Eve

My fellow author and awesome critique pal Celia Breslin, tagged me for this blog hop. I’ve decided to corner my reclusive warrior, Reynner, and Eve from my Guardian World series for this interview. Theirs is the next book: Darkness Undone :)

Screen Shot 2014-09-16 at 10.10.33 AM

1-Is your character fictional or a historic person?

Eve: “not historic. Fictional? Seriously? I’m a regular person. I feel real… ” glances at Reynner and lightly runs her fingers down his ribs, “you feel me, don’t you?”

Reynner jerks and shackles her wrist, the pins her with a long stare. “Later, I’ll show you exactly how real a touch can feel.”

A blush steals across Eve’s cheeks.

2-When and where is the story set?

Eve: “present day, in good ol’ New York city and this wonderful refuge on another realm called Exilum—where Reynner currently lives.”

A little smile tugs Reynner’s lips: “What about the forests of Exilum–your room many times…my room?”

Eve rubs her heated face. “God….”

3-What should we know about Reynner?

Eve frown and is silent for a second. Reynner glances at her: “nothing to say?”

Eve snorts: “I have plenty. He’s as stubborn as the day is long—felt he wasn’t good enough for me, until I made him see the error of his way. Oh, and he is very, very old.”

Reynner cocks a brow : “old—old? Well then, I just have to use my dungeon again to prove you wrong.”

Eve stares shocked, then quickly recovers. She smiles sweetly. “okay… okay, he looks a few years older then me.”

4-What is the main conflict in your story? What messes up your life?

Eve:  A horrid goddess who nearly won.  And Reynner’s lone-wolf attitude.”

Reynner shakes his head.

5-What is your personal goal ? Reynner–Eve?

Reynner expression tightens. “I wanted to find a friend–long lost through my own fault—my stupidity that caused a tragedy…  but things didn’t quite turn out that way…”

Eve tenderly strokes his arm.

6-Is this novel published, and where can we read more about it?

Eve: I’ll take this. It’s in the hand of my author’s agent and about to be pitched to publishers. There an excerpt in the book section, so you can see what and whom I had to put up with.” She grimaces. “…ah, our interviews at at end.”

“Yes, it is.” Reynner rises, snag Eve’s wrist. “The Dungeon awaits us.”

Eve: “You’re insatiable.”

Reynner: “And you just realize that now?”

That’s it from Eve and Reynner  :)

Excerpt

As inappropriate as the situation had turned out to be, Sarita was his. At least until she returned to Columbia in what? A few days? A week? No matter when, she would go. “No wife or girlfriend to hang out with.”
Her chest deflated with her released breath. He wished he could have taken her air into himself. I’m screwed. “What about you? Are you married or have a boyfriend waiting to break you out of here at the first opportunity?”
Her eyes blazed into his. “Single as single can be.”
The admission sparked something deep within him. He had to touch her. Nothing else mattered except having his fingers glide over her flawless mocha skin. The all-encompassing urge pushed

him to stand.
With a controlled effort he strode to the area across from the television and leaned against the wall.
On every unit, one spot existed where neither the cameras nor inmates could see.
Management knew about it, but the cost of adding a third camera would be too expensive for the facility to contemplate so they left it. At least that’s the story Matt had been told.
He’d never used the spot, but as he waited for her to join him, he couldn’t imagine being anywhere

else.
He motioned her to him with a crook of his index finger. “Come here.”

That means you post seven line from your current work in progress.

Rules:

Go to line 7

Tag 7 people and do the same

~~~
So here are 7 lines from page 7 of Breaking Fate. (Blaéz’s story)
‘A fist smashed into his cheek. Blood sprayed. Agony exploded in a starburst of colors. Perfect.
‘What the fuck are you doing?’ Michael’s words rang in his head, an unwanted intrusion. Blaéz  shut down his mind-link, ignored his leader as another blow sent him reeling into the metal bars.
This was his penance, his cross to bear.
Then the very air around him froze. All went still.
Michael strode through the statue-like crowd toward the cage.
Well, fuck. Playtime’s over.’
