Review: Fierce & Fabulous: An Erotic Short Story Collection Of Leah’s Lustful Adventures

Fierce & Fabulous: An Erotic Short Story Collection Of Leah's Lustful Adventures

Fierce & Fabulous: An Erotic Short Story Collection Of Leah’s Lustful Adventures by Kitty Mulholland

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Three very different short stories. I found all three are arousing. The connection is the main protagonist, the leading lady if you like, Leah.

The first is about a couple on holiday who get caught in the act on the beach by their neighbouring, Dutch couple, who then join in the action, much to the titilation of all concerned. I enjoyed it and felt as if I were a voyeur watching the scene unfold in front of me. Quite a turn on!

The second is a about “the inbetweener,” a man who Leah has on speed-dial to fill the gap between realtionships with wall-to-wall, no-strings-attached sex. It is fun and totally unrealistic, which makes for a high amusement value.

The final story is easily my favourite. Leah observes a hot, younger hunk as she completes her lap in the pool. She retires to the sauna to chill out and who should join her there but the hunk. As the sauna heats up, so does their passion. This is one that is bound to connect with many people who work out in one way or another. Feeling horny after a run or workout is not uncommon so this story could spark fantasies of steamy encounters in the sauna or communal shower area for many of its readers.

It’s all a lot of fun and well worth a read. I recommend it.

Going it alone, scary and exhilarating, wish me luck.

Breaking new ground can be a bit scary but I am very confident that Lucie will do well. Her first book was great. I can’t wait to read the sequel.

I went down the self-pub route myself with all three of my books so far. It has worked for me: using KDP for the Kindle versions and Lulu.com for the paperback versions.

If you need any help or advice, Lucy, you know where I am.

Good luck!

I am changing things.

I am leaving Authoright with the Clink Street Publishing. Somehow, it no longer worked for me.

I will use the opportunity to re-write my first book a bit – mainly culling some parts- I am a woman of many words. I will re-publish it together with my sequel. maybe even break it into a trilogy. That will help me not to have to be so careful about not writing too much.

I will use kindle direct publishing. I should have done that the first-time round, but I  did not have a clue how it all works.

I learn from my mistakes.

Like with my sexual revolution and writing, I learnt a lot.

I will need to find a publishing editor, proof-reader and cover designer, but I hopefully know what I am doing, second time round.
This will mean my book might not be available for some…

“How far would you have walked to gain your high school education?

From an early age, the greatest passion in Boitumelo Tumelo’s life is learning. Boi, as she is known to her friends and family, just loves going to school. Her primary school is in the local village, but when she graduates to secondary school, two obstacles stand in the path to her further education. Firstly, there are fees to be paid. Secondly, it is eleven miles to the nearest secondary school. She would have to get up very early, and walk that long distance to school every day, and walk home after school. There…

Review: Pretty Hot

Pretty Hot

Pretty Hot by Donna Alam

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed the story an dlook forward to reading more; finding out what comes next for Katie.

She arrives in Dubai to start a new life as a teacher. She only has one old friend there, Niamh, who encourages her to find a new man. The life she left behind in Australia stil haunts her, especially as her mother keep calling her, trying to persuade her to forgive her erstwhile fiance. She caught him in the act with a stripper the day before their wedding. What else would you expect her to do?

Anyway, she soon falls for a rich, handsome Emerati and the hot action begins. And I can tell you that it is VERY hot!

It is good to read an erotica novel with a strong background story. The characters are developed nicely, and there is some variety. My only advice to Katie s she embark son book 2 in the series, would be not to trust anyone. Well, maybe she can trust her old friend, Niamh, but nobody else.

It’s a fun book, and I recommend it.

Review: The Michael Jecks Compendium

The Michael Jecks Compendium

The Michael Jecks Compendium by Michael Jecks

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book does exactly as is intended: it teases and tantalises and tempts the reader into wanting more. It is a series of prologues and first chapters of the books of Michael Jecks’s Knights Templar series.

I really enjoyed every single one of these stories, and I wanted to read the rest of each book.

There is no need for me to say much more than that, except that I recommend it.

Review: The Time Traveler’s Wife

The Time Traveler's Wife

The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Imaginative writing

The ideas behind the book, and the way that the reader is propelled into events that seem to be both happening in sequence and totally disjoint, is ingenious. At first, I was wondering where the whole story was heading, but, by about three-quarters of the way through the book, it is fairly obvious how it will end. However, that didn’t make me want to stop reading. Quite the contrary: I couldn’t stop!

Initially, all the time jumps are a bit confusing, but the start of every chapter is labelled with the date and the ages of the main characters: Clare and Henry. Sometimes, Henry has two ages, as he meets himself coming back; or forward. Don’t worry though, you soon get used to the structure, and it flows incredibly well.

Although the book is entitled The Time Traveler’s Wife, it was much more about Henry, the time traveller, than about his wife, Clare, whose character was much less developed. One other aspect of the book, which sometimes irritated me was that it was often too high-brow. Perhaps it is me who is too low-brow! And my final little gripe is that there were too many lists. These can be skipped: once you get used to them, you can see them coming.

The enduring thought that I was left with was, “If I could travel in time, where and when would I go?” How would you answer that one?

We’re all DOOMED!

I thought that it would be timely to reblog this in the light of the US election results. Don’t worry America, the whole circus starts again in 2.5 years from now, and you could have a new, preferable president elect in only four years. Unless, of course, your new guy has destroyed the planet by then!

Lance Greenfield

We’re all DOOMED!

We're all doomedTo quote Private Fraser from Dad’s Army, “We’re all DOOMED!”

Our new Conservative government have already made it clear that they will further oppress the masses who are already disadvantaged and continue to enrich their fat cat friends.

But they were democratically elected, so we should not complain. Rather, we should campaign to oust them at the next opportunity.

Five years though. It’s a long time.

What Does Sustainable Even Mean?

Changing the World, One Glass at a Time

I think it’s safe to say that there is a great deal of us that want to make a positive impact on the world, it could even be the reason you’re looking at my blog in the first place. Even The Beatles said, “We all want to change the world…” But where do we start?

Well, we can start with the wine we purchase and drink, but even that can get a little complicated.

We’re presented with all of these appealing terms that winemakers love to brag about such as “Organic”  “BioDynamic” and “Sustainable”… but what do they actually mean?

Well, Organic means that the wine has been made with organically grown grapes free of synthetic pesticides, GMO’s or added sulfites. Even the yeast used during fermentation must be organic. In order to be considered truly organic, it must be legally certified as such by the USDA. In addition to fully organic…

Review: Strangers on the 16:02

Strangers on the 16:02

Strangers on the 16:02 by Priya Basil

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It happens every day in London

The characters in this book develop quite well for such a short story, and they all have their different dilemmas.

I always find it interesting to look at people in train carraiges, airports, railway stations, shopping centres, and even in cars alongside me in traffic jams, and wonder about their lives. Where have they come from and where are they going to? What is going on in their lives? Are they agonising over some huge, personal life problem?

This is what Strangers is about. Here are all these complex characters, thrown together in a railway carriage on a local train that is London bound. None of them know what is going on in any of the others’ lives, and they may be surprised if they did. Appearances can be very deceptive.

Something else which made this book very interesting for me was the connection to the news and discussions that I hear on BBC Radio London 94.9 on my drive to and from work every day. The author does a great job of coupling the strands of her story to the harsh reality of everyday life in and around London. There is such diversity, which should be celebrated alongside the less discussed similarities across society.

I thought that there was room to extend the story to perhaps around a hundred pages, which would have allowed the characters to develop even more. However, I disagree with the negative criticisms about the ending. If you want to find out what happened next, you should tune in, even on the internet, to the London news. This story is bound to be featured, as it is a description of what is happening right now.

Well done Priya Basil. A very good, creative quick read.
