Esther’s Challenge – Laugh-along-a-Limerick

Happy New Week to you all and welcome, once again, to Esther Chilton’s regular Monday challenge.

Today, Esther’s one-word prompt is SMILE. So can you write a limerick using the word SMILE in it somewhere?

On a personal level, I was delighted when Esther told me that today’s word is SMILE. It reminded me of a wonderful approach to striking up a conversation that was gifted to me during my travels in the Caribbean . . .

. . . A friendly taxi driver told me, “On this island, we have a saying: Smile before you speak.

Isn’t that lovely? It sets your encounter off on a good note.

If you want to swerve around the weekly prompt, please feel free to ignore it and write a limerick to suit your current mood and feelings. Just let it flow. Delight us all with your creativity.
