New Cover Reveal for our First Book, The Perpetual Papers of the Pack of Pets
It is here! It is here!
The new cover to our book, The Perpetual Papers of the Pack of Pets, is here. It is not live on Kindle or in print just yet - Cool Mom has a few hours of work to do to make that happen. Leanpub, however, has been updated and we are able to give you the sneak peek now.
The goal was to keep it simple and fun. What do you think?
We adore the work of artist Miro Chun who created our likeness using wire. Yes, wire!
She deserves a big bowl full of treats.
Thank you for reading and sharing,

Katrina von Cat the Master of Wisdom and Knowledge ( & Stanley, too!)

Video about the Word of the Week: ASPIRE
Popcorn was apparently hit with a creative idea today, after tripping over our Bananagrams game. The video below is the result of this creative energy. Popcorn announced that it is her gift to us for reaching the milestone of over 100 published blog posts. Is that good? I still would rather it be 100 treats but I will always take gifts and praise. Thank you, Popcorn.
Enjoy the video!

5 stars to The Adventures of Tomato and Pea: Book 1 A Bad Idea
Title: The Adventures of Tomato and Pea - Book 1: A Bad IdeaAuthor:: Erik WeibelYear Published: 2013Publisher: CreateSpaceDescription (from Amazon): For years the evil villain Wintergreen had tried to destroy super crime-stopper, Tomato and his sidekick, Pea, and take over planet Oarg. In a plan gone wrong, Wintergreen traps himself along with his arch-nemesis in a runaway rocket ship that crashes on a strange planet called “EAR-TH”. Now these perennial enemies must learn to work together to survive the dangers on this strange world. Hungry birds, enormous snakes and the giant inhabitants of EAR-TH stand between this brawling bunch of aliens and finding a way home.Review:
Neighbor Girl receives her copy of Erik's bookWhat a fantastic debut book for Erik Weibel. Erik is no stranger to writing. You may find his work on his blog (This Kid Reviews Books) where he thoroughly and expediently reviews books for kids.In our home, we have the motto: "Who knows better what kids like than kids?" and Erik helps prove our point. Thanks, Erik!
This book is entertaining. The descriptions throughout the book are well done.
Pea is a lovable narrator who over prepares for outings which is evident when he shares that the only Smidge Scout patch he is missing is the one for "packing your backpack efficiently." Mom really enjoyed the choice of narrator and found herself giggling throughout the book.
A fairly quick read and we look forward to reading book 2 in the series.
Both mother and daughter (10 years old) easily agreed on the star rating.
You would like this book if you enjoy a fun read with unique alien characters and quick adventure.
Clean Read? Yes, absolutely!
Fun Recommendation: Purchase Erik's book and then use one of the new Kid Lit Printables book report forms for your child/nephew/cousin/yourself to review this book! Three options and all are free.

Book Review by
Hi! I am a former homeschooling mother (DD now attends a charter school) to one precocious tween daughter. I enjoy reading picture and middle grade books. I love when I have time to read what my daughter is reading. Stanley and Katrina von Cat the Master of Wisdom and Knowledge are nice enough to allow me to review books on their site as I have time. My latest project is Kid Lit Printables. You may call me Neighbor Girl's Mom or Cool Mom. **********************************
