When you least expect it...

If there is one thing that I can count on in my life is to always expect the unexpected. I have met the greatest people where and when I would least expect it and I am so happy I have. I am so thankful for all of those people.... Its not always Rainbows & Unicorns but its always better when they're around.

Fresh Reads Monday: New Home Edition and a Giveaway

Happy Fresh Reads Monday to you! This weeks post is coming straight from my new desk in my new home. Its been an emotional roller coaster here. My little cat Deeters (Lita) went on to the cat nip field in the sky last night. We had a great 13 years together. I will miss that cat so much.

On to a happier subject!

Fresh Reads Monday!! Below you'll find this weeks new releases from @Crimson_Romance Take a gander...have a read. Stay Fresh my friends!

Author Katie Kenyhercz, author of On the Fly has a special message and giveaway for you all!
Attention, readers! Have you read my new book On the Fly? Well, in honor of the novel being released, I’m holding a fun giveaway! Read on for details…

Jacey Vaughn has a newly minted MBA when her father dies unexpectedly and leaves her his NHL team, the Cleveland Rockers, soon-to-be Las Vegas Sinners. Well-versed in business but not so much in hockey, Jacey navigates this new world with a few stumbles. She definitely doesn’t plan on falling for the team captain. At the first hint of scandal, a local Las Vegas reporter latches on, and Jacey finds herself in the newspaper with headlines that hurt instead of help. Jacey’s determined to keep her father’s legacy alive and make the team successful, but while she has no problem denying her feelings to the media, she can’t lie to herself.

Carter Phlynn has known nothing but hockey his entire life. Drafted into the NHL at age eighteen, winning the Stanley Cup is all he’s ever wanted, and one is not enough. Nothing has ever disrupted his focus. Not until he meets his new boss. Jacey gets under his skin like no one else, and while dating the team owner would be a disaster for his career and reputation, he can’t get her out of his head. Carter has never had a relationship last more than a month, but the more he’s around Jacey, the more he can’t picture his future without her.

Would you like to win a piece of Sinners’ swag? Just email me at ken9002@setonhill.edu no later than April 8th. Give a quick description of your favorite scene in On the Fly and explain why you like it. I’ll pick five lucky winners who show the most team spirit to receive green glow horns like those featured in the book.

Good luck, and Let’s Go Sinners!

Party or Parent pooper?

I have a situation that I need a little insight on.
When you throw your child a birthday party and send the invites to school with the child do you invite all the kids or just certain ones?
Any thoughts from someone who's gone through something like this? Do you feel that invites should be sent privately through mail or email so a child doesn't feel slighted around peers? Or even to avoid situations like mine...leaving an invite in a child's backpack only to hear about it leaving you as a parent clueless? And if a parent approached you with a valid question, not berating you for not inviting their child, but asking a valid question with a genuine concern do you blow up and act as if they are beneath you and your party?

I don't know...I really would love to hear from some moms out there and how they feel about these situations. I know for my daughter when I plan her party I always plan for 25 kids because that's what normally around what shows up. I make a conscious effort to leave no child out. It's up to the parent to do what they wish..but I know I extended the invite. I mean after all this is who it's all about right? Our children??

Fresh Reads Monday (two times two times) @Crimson_romance

Hidy ho peeps. This is a special edition of Fresh Reads because I am a complete scatter brain these past few weeks. We purchased a house so add the packing and getting everything ready to move on to my already jam packed schedule and you have a me...the hot freakin' mess. Which works out well for you because you get two weeks of Fresh Reads in one post.

On the writing front, it's been a slow slow process these days. At 11pm I'll sit down at my PC with a fresh cup of coffee with every intention to get down and dirty with Jordie and Nathan. I mentally prepare to be up a few more hours and drag ass in the AM. I should really stop mentally preparing myself because by the time I'm finished with that...I'm exhausted and I just want to sleep. With that being said, I think I'll just put that off until after we move and settled. In the mean time I can catch up on some of my own fresh reads that I've been needing to get finished. Nothing bugs me more than being in the middle of a great book and then having to walk away from it for a week. SO ANNOYING.

Without further delay...Here's a double dose of Fresh Reads!

Fresh Reads for Monday February 25, 2013  Monday March 4, 2013 releases. Love and War  by Tara Mills is one of the books I'm reading right now. So good. You won't be disappointed  I eventually want to read all of these books over at @CrimsonRomance They are unique and full of win.

Fresh Reads Monday on a Tuesday Morning

It's been a bit cray cray for me so forgive the day late post. Some great reviews came in over the weekend for Finding Jordie. I was uber happy about that. Even the awesome 5 Star review from the person who liked Finding Jordie but apparently doesn't care for me very much. Well, I'm positively pleased they could overcome their personal issues and still give Finding Jordie a great rating. And for this...I thank you.

Here are a few new Fresh Reads to make your Monday suck a lot less from some pretty great ladies. Suzi, Serena, Juli, Tricia and CJ Happy Release day! @CrimsonRomance
