Working Out

As I get older I find myself needing to watch my weight a little more. Any and every thing I eat goes straight to the middle :/ I’m also trying to be more aware of my health too. I say that because every few months I get on a fitness kick and last week apparently I hit that time again. LOL.

I’ve got my fitbit charged up and walking challenges started. (I love to drag others into working out with me lol) I’ve been guzzling water and cutting out soda. (so haaaarrd) You may hear an occasional gripe or see an outdoor pic because I like walking trails. These were the ducks I found from the weekend walk.

She drew in another breath and exhaled, allowing her weight to settle against him. Her arms bent in front of her and she planted her palms firmly on Kjar’s chest. His hand glided up and down her back, the repeated motion soothing her as nothing else could.

This was why she’d come. Only with him did she feel this sense of peace. No demands, no expectations, no pressure. The three things that tended to run her life. She should say something. Her lips parted to speak but Kjar tightened his hold and beat her to it. “Shhh. Sleep.”

Every few seconds she jerked, remembered where she was and calmed.

“It’s alright,” he murmured in her ear. “I’m right here.”

Back to School

I’m one of the ones prepping for back to school with my kid this year. We finished our shopping and I was pleased to see we mostly did clothes. We have a ton of pens, paper and stuff from the before times ™ LOL.

One of the positive side benefits of pandemic from an academic perspective for me is that my kid got to keep his laptop and the school decided to keep most of their work online. His quizzes, tests, and classwork are done IN class ON the laptop. Instant grades and time for the teacher to review any problems the students had right there. PLUS less folders, notebooks and crap for my kid to lug around.

How’s everyone else making out with back to school?

Throwback-Wicked Lover

I’m talking about Wicked Lover for my throwback this week. This book has an odd history. If you’ve been a long time reader/fan you know its background. Amazon BN Kobo Apple Books Google Play Print

For new readers, I’ll give a quick highlight. WL started as a Kindle World book under awesome sci fi romance author, SE Smith. Kindle Worlds was an amazon program where you got to set a story in another author’s world. The title was originally Taste of Wicked. Had a different cover and everything. LOL.

Anyway, amazon cut the strings on the program. SE Smith and many others created their own world and offered to keep the books under their “umbrella per se” or rewrite the book without their story background/characters inserted. I chose to rewrite.

Wicked Lover got a heavy edit on certain parts while the main story itself stayed the same. I took another WIP (Djinn Lover) at the time and integrated elements to create a series. Thus the Magical Lovers was born. The books are more paranormal than sci fi featuring, shifters, wizards and djinn all based on Earth. I like it because I get to be a little more light hearted in the story telling than I am in my sci fi stuff. (less explosions, same love and sexy times lol)

Throwback-Jaron’s Promise

Jaron’s Promise is my throwback for this week. This is book 5 in my A World Beyond series and gets us closer to the issue of the Collector and Lothar. Such a great book to write because it challenged me to do a story where the two characters are stuck together for most of the time and fall in love during that time.

Jaron’s heroine Sasha is a bounty hunter and a cat shifter from my Argoran race. She’s kickbutt and tough but loves hard.
