Nano Writing
It’s nano month which is when individuals try to write a complete 50k novel in the 30 days of the month. I’ve done this for years and enjoy it. Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose. LOL. I always end up with a workable novel though.
For my first week totals, I managed XXX words. Pretty good since I actually forgot it was nano until an author friend posted a reminder on the first. I spent a lot of time googling some details for background on my characters. Half the fun for me is doing something and not worrying about reader reaction. It is the one time where I tell myself to just throw it all on the page.
Are any of you doing nano? Feel free to share in the comments

Comic Con
Had the pleasure of going to the local comic con and had a blast. I’m always impressed with how much work goes into some of the cosplay and wish I was half as creative. Instead, I generally grab costumes from the halloween stores for me and my kids.
Here’s a couple pics I remembered to snap. (Oh, and for newsletter subscribers, I’ve update the unedited work in progress. Use the same link to view)

Spook-tacular day
Hoping everyone eats as much candy as they want today. LOL. I still have to grab a bag of candy in case we have treaters knock on the door. The last 2 yrs have been quiet for pandemic reasons but I think kids are going to be out tonight.
Managed to spend a day at the pumpkin patch. LOL. No kids. Just a fun day to hang out and drink cider. Also I didnt see anyone buying the candy corn. LOLOLOL. Are you a candy corn lover or hater? I land on the side of yuck, no way, hater.

Fun moments/Author life
So if you know a little about me, you know I’m a huge Broncos football fan. BUT I live in Ravens country
I do support the home team as long as they aren’t playing the Broncos. LOL.
Recently I had the opportunity to go to Raven’s stadium, meet players and do football drills. The last was as funny as you can imagine. LOLOL. I’m sharing a few pics. I think I have more on my IG page too. I’m https://www.instagram.com/mhowardwrites/ over there. Feel free to follow me. I post food, my pets and randomness.

Update
I’m working on two projects. One is for fun and not sure if I will release it, the other is part of the A World Beyond series but I’m tentative about the project and don’t want to say too much yet. In the meantime, hope everyone is enjoying the Ghost Unit series

First we have V.K. Ludwig who included her prequel novella Ash Planet Warriors featuring a tortured hero. I just started but I LOVE a tortured hero. Can’t wait to dive in. For more from VK. Visit her website here: https://www.vkludwig.com/
Next is Susan Hayes. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Susan at a couple of book conventions and she’s always recognizable by her bright purple hair. LOL. Susan’s novella Marked for Rage is book 1 in her series featuring alien heros with HORNS. That’s always a nice little extra. Check out more books from Susan here: https://susanhayes.ca/

Starstruck Anthology-Kate Rudolph
Hey All! Another day and another feature. Today, I’m highlighting author Kate Rudolph. It was so great reading Kate’s story, Soulless, in the Startstruck anthology. If you like angst about a hero who’s had his emotions removed and thinks he’ll never find his soul mate, this is the story for you. This was my first time reading Soulless and I’m slowly making my way through the rest of the books I’ve never read
