He sucked a breath between his teeth and bit back his snarls of desire. The smell of whatever scent she wore filled his nostrils, the slight thump of the wall in his ears as he ground his pelvis against hers. His other hand dug into the thigh clasped tightly around his waist. “We can’t.”

It wasn’t the smart thing to do. He wasn’t on watch and trusted his men to hell and back but he still needed to keep his wits about him. Nothing in his imagination remotely let him pretend that if he buried his d*** in Penny like he wanted, he’d be able to pay the least bit of attention to their surroundings. Only a fool would lie to himself like that, and John was no fool.

“Please. We can be quick.”

His muted laugh was part whimper. He wanted to. She tempted him. With her words, her body. And f***…“Just let me get you off.”

The fingers in his hair tightened and Penny jerked his head up. Their eyes clashed. Blue versus brown. “No. I need you. I want to feel you deep inside. We’ll be fast and hard.”

John closed his eyes and leaned his forehead against hers. He really, really, really wanted to say yes, but the other part of him—the head above his waist—cautioned him to be careful. “We should settle down and think this through.”

There was a moment of silence and John wondered if he’d ruined the moment.

“Do you want me?” she asked in an even tone.

His lids flickered open and he couldn’t miss the self doubt, fear and need glowing back at him. “Yes. F***. Yes, I want you. It’s hard to deny.”

His cock was shoved as close as it could possibly get between her thighs and pressed snug against her crotch. Her smile quivered on the edges. “Then give me this. Us. Give us this single thing to combat everything we’ve gone through. Something to hang on to because this whole experience has been hella awful, John.”

Poking my head out

Writing, writing, every day but also doing some merry holiday things. I’ll have a newsletter coming out shortly with some of the fun stuff and giveaways I plan to do. Well into holiday season

My favorite holiday is almost upon us. Christmas for some of us in America. I love all the music, the lights, elaborate decorations and trees gone wild. Wrapping presents is something I do last minute and I’m terrible at it. LOL. But I enjoy all the nice wrapping paper so still a win, I think.

I’ll have my tree up shortly and decorate. Went shopping for matching pjs and look forward to a family photo

On the writing front I didnt hit my nano numbers but I’m still working on the book, plus a side project AND a book I started several months ago thats difficult to get right but I like what I have. I even have a cover for one of the three projects already.

Nano final check in

So two things, happy belated turkey day. I spent it with family and ate just enough to keep from being stuffed. Went shopping on black friday and it was surreal after being home and not really doing the huge mall shopping in the last two years. I wonder if it will always feel weird to see big crowds again.

Also, nano update. I am not going to win. LOL. Two years in a row where I’ve fallen off the rails halfway thru. I’m doing a standalone random story unrelated to my other stuff which means world building and created from scratch. I’m learning the characters and they keep flip flopping about what they want and who they are. I’ll keep working on this though because I”m intrigued by the storyline.

Hump Day Wednesday and a nano update

Whew! Nano is kicking my butt. Sometimes I’m on and sometimes I’m not. It is a struggle but I’m hanging in there. I need to step up the pace because I’m faaaaar behind. LMAO. 16k I think. I’ll have to dbl check and edit this post if i’m off. (updated 15623 words) I’ve changed the title 4 times already and still dont like it :/

1 week of NANO

The first week of nano is done. I had plans over the weekend and couldnt write but so far I’m tracking roughly 9850 for my word count. I’m behind but hope to make up for it this week.
