and immediately thought :

That Simultaneous Feeling

That simultaneous feeling when you find the key to the communal post office package locker for the complex sitting in the snow and there’s no way to put the key anywhere safe or know who it or the package inside the package locker goes to without opening it, so you have to open it, take the package to the addressee, and try to explain to them why you have their package:

Conflicting Emotions

That moment when you find out your wife got outside food while you were off doing something and you have to eat what you already have at home:

The later moment when you further find out that it was a place she’d been repeatedly craving recently but you really weren’t that fond of so now you don’t have to waste an outside food meal there yourself after all:

That Would Only Slightly Increase My Wait Time For Chicken

I haven’t gone to KFC in a while, but I drove by the location where I used to go and found out that it had turned into a bank. At first I was disappointed, but then I put the situation in perspective.

After all, this would only slightly increase my wait time for chicken.

Nostalgia Triggers Nostalgia

Every time I see something about the demise of Blockbuster, I keep thinking of how it came in as a giant video store and killed the little video place I used to go to, Applause Video. Then I don’t feel so bad.

I hope this week of posts about what I won’t be buying my wife for Valentine’s Day doesn’t make people think that I’m going to share what I actually did get her as a gift. It’s not that it’s that private or anything, but I don’t think I need to share that with anybody.
