Death, the Devil, and the Goldfish Book Trailer #1

What a lucky little author I am! I don't just have one book trailer...I have THREE!  And I'll be releasing each one over the next week.  I'm fortunate to have some very talented friends who were more than happy (after I bribed/black mailed/threatened them) to create a book trailer for my debut novel 'Death, the Devil, and the Goldfish'.

Trailer #1 (below) was originally a teaser trailer for the book to be released before December 5th but I never got it out on time so while it says 'coming soon' that's not actually accurate as the book is available right now in print and e-book formats from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Kobo

I wrote the trailer voice over which was voiced by podcaster, voice actor, and bearded gentleman Jon Cross. Jon also voiced the audio book which is stuck somewhere in limbo awaiting distribution. If you want to listen to more from Jon check out his awesome podcasts over at the After Movie Diner.

The trailer was shot, produced, and edited by filmmaker, aspiring comic book creator, and host of the Trilogy podcast; the very talented Chris Morris!

Watch and enjoy!  Trailer #2 by Ivan Sampson, coming soon...

The Charge by Sharon Bayliss - Cover Reveal!

Picture Check out this awesome cover for 'The Charge' by Sharon Bayliss coming
What if Texas never joined the United States, and instead became it's own nation?

In The Charge that's exactly what happened. In the 1830s, the Republic of Texas was taken over by a dictator with superhuman powers who named himself the first King of Texas. Eighty years later, the Texas Empire has fallen into ruin, but the story of the Texas royal dynasty is far from over.

College freshman Warren King wants nothing more than to enjoy a beer by the pool on his summer break...but that's not what fate has in store for him. When Texas soldiers kidnap his little brother, he embarks into a still-wild West to save him.  While fumbling through a search attempt in the lawless Texas Empire, he makes a discovery that changes his life forever. He and his brother are estranged members of the Texas royal family and the King wants them both dead.  Now Warren must save his brother and choose whether or not to be King, follow a King, or die before he can retire his fake ID.

The Charge was a quarterfinalist for the 2012 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and won a Publisher's Weekly review:

"A solid cast of well-developed characters, including a “super-tall” royal Texan family, stars in this thrill ride of a novel teetering between sci-fi adventure and alternate historical epic...Easily shifting between characters’ perspectives, and relentless in its action, well-placed humor, and suspense, this manuscript is a delight."

The Charge will be available in digital and print formats from  Curiosity Quills Press  on Texas Independence Day, 3/2/13. Go to www.facebook.com/thechargebook for updates.

Exclusive 24 Hour Goodreads Giveaway!

Maybe it's the insanity of the holidays, maybe it's an extended version of the giving spirit, or maybe it's because I was just released from a Turkish prison and feel the need to share myself with the world...

For the next 24 hours only I'm giving away free e-copies of Death, the Devil, the Goldfish exclusively to Goodreads users. How do you get your hands on one of these copies I hear you cry (could just be the voices in my head). Easy! All you have to do is like my author Facebook page HERE and once I verify you're a real person and not a cyborg from the future and that you are indeed on Goodreads, then I'll send you a copy :)

Here are some of the latest reviews:

"Not only does the British vocabulary and setting reminded me of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the complex story and hilarious vignettes just scream Douglas Adams reincarnated." - James Wymore (Author)

"A prophetic goldfish, the Angel of Death and the devil...sounds like the beginning of a great bar joke but in this case it's a creative, funny, fantastic story that will have you laughing from beginning to end." - Eileen Dilbeck (Goodreads)

"Funny, creative, inventive, interesting, different, imaginative, well written, well crafted and an overall joy to behold." - Jon Cross (Podcaster)

Where Can I Buy 'Death, the Devil, and the Goldfish'??

Picture If there's one gift you buy this Christmas Season it has to be my debut novel Death, the Devil, and the Goldfish. Failure to do so will result in Christmas Elves visiting your home and stealing your cookies/Christmas tree/children/booze/TV remote. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not.  But is it really worth the risk?

What's it all about? Glad you asked...

From the Bahamas to Heathrow airport, to the rain soaked streets of London the dead have ceased dying. This is inconvenient for a number of reasons but what's the real reason behind the chaos? In London we find Nigel Reinhardt, a disgraced, confused, and gifted London police constable who owns a prophetic goldfish. In Ireland the Angel of Death questions the value and position of his current employment. At Majestic Technologies Celina McMannis works diligently on a top secret project. At the South Pole there lives a very unhappy penguin. When the Devil hatches a nefarious plot to take over the world by possessing a cute little kitty and seizing a factory of robotic Christmas elves it's up to Nigel and his group of unlikely companions to save the world or die trying... or both.

Now available in paperback and e-reader digital formats you can purchase DTDTG from the following retailers:

Amazon.com (e-reader Kindle)
Amazon.com (Paperback)
Amazon.ca (Paperback. It’s still filtering to the Canadian market so it’s currently available in limited quantities but more shipping soon)
Barnes and Noble (Paperback and e-reader Nook)
Kobo (e-reader Kobo)
The audio book, voiced by the multi-talented Jon Cross , will be available soon from iTunes.

If you're interested in winning a trip to the Bahamas it might be a good idea to check out the viral contest running alongside the release. Catch Your Death?

The Darkness Falls Trilogy Draws to a Close...

Picture Have you read The Darkness Falls Trilogy by Krystal Wade? If you haven't, don't you think it's about time you did?

The epic final entry in the trilogy, Wilde's Meadow, available now!

The Story: Happy endings are hard to find, and even though Katriona is in the middle of a war with someone who’s already stolen more than she can replace, she aches for a positive future with her Draíochtans.

Armed with hope, confidence in her abilities, and a strange new gift from her mother, Kate ventures into the Darkness to defeat a fallen god.

Losses add up, and new obstacles rise to stand in the way. Is the one determined to bring Encardia light strong enough to keep fighting, or will all the sacrifices to stop those who seek domination be for nothing?

About the Author: Krystal Wade can be found in the sluglines outside Washington D.C. every morning, Monday through Friday. With coffee in hand, iPod plugged in, and strangers--who sometimes snore, smell, or have incredibly bad gas--sitting next to her, she zones out and thinks of fantastical worlds for you and me to read. How else can she cope with a fifty mile commute?

Good thing she has her husband and three kids to go home to. They keep her sane.

Write Out Loud! - The Newest Podcast from the Podcastination Network

Picture A year and a half ago I added the Podcastination Network to Planet Kibi in order to fling open the creative doors to a brand new outlet. Podcasting has been on the rise for quite sometime now and with the help of a little thing called the 'internet' everyone has a chance to lend their voice. So what's a podcast? Think of it like a radio show but it's not live, you can download it and listen to it whenever you want.

Write Out Loud is the newest podcastination podcast and will officially launch on Thursday November 29th with the first episode. Write Out Loud will feature interviews with authors (established, new, and aspiring), publishers, literary agents, editors, storytellers, writers, and other literary-type people.

The concept of Write Out Loud is to allow fans to hear their favorite authors, for authors to showcase their work, for everyone to get advice on writing and publishing, and for me to have a jolly good time.

The first episode features an interview with Author, Mike Robinson, whose recent new release 'The Green-Eyed Monster' is available on Amazon. Other guests for future episodes over the next three months include: Kevin T Craig (Author of Summer on Fire and Sebastian's Poet), Thea Gregory (Author of Sanity Vaccum), Terrie Wolf (Literary Agent at AKA Literary), Lisa Gus and Eugene Teplitsky (Owners and Operators of CQ Press), and Audrey Kearns (Writer, Storyteller, and Creator of the 5 Truths and a Lie podcast).

You can subscribe to Write Out Loud on iTunes or download directly from Planet Kibi.

If anyone is interested in being a guest on a future episode please contact me at abuckley23 at gmail dot com with a short bio and links to your website/work.

The Green-Eyed Monster by Mike Robinson

Picture If you're looking for an amazing, spine-tingling, chilling, creepy, mystery then look no further than the new novella from Mike Robinson: The Green-Eyed Monster.

Martin Smith and John Becker: bestselling authors with ordinary names and extraordinary minds. Rivals since childhood, they are natives of the northern California town of Twilight Falls, and famous for their uncanny similarity in   both physical manner and literary voice.

When one of them ends up dead at  the other’s home, an investigation is launched into their dark past, revealing a  series of troubling stories from their childhood, adolescence and careers,  throughout which pervades a sinister presence, an authorial entity with roots  beyond our time or dimension — an entity with far-reaching designs.
