Embedding posts from Google+ directly to your site.
There's a lot of buzz about #embeddedposts today, but this new feature is for more than bloggers.
Take the changes I just made to the show page for the Books and Beer Hangout below. Prior to this, I was embedding the YouTube video of our show directly to the page. That's fine, but you lose all context of the video beyond the still frame or cover art. There's no text from the YouTube post to tell you -- literally -- what the video is about.
Now, I've replaced the YouTube embed code with the embed code from the Google+ page that does provide context. You can still click the video directly -- it shares nicely in the G+ post -- to make it play, but now you know what to expect.
Handy! At least I think so. For those who've seen the page before with just the video embedded, what you think?
(H/t to +Mike Downes for sparking my thoughts!)

Incredible Photo of a Frog Launching with LADEE
Friday's launch of the LADEE mission to the Moon was a spectacular success. But not for a poor frog. Check out this photograph captured by NASA's Remote Cameras set up for the launch at Wallops station.
We've got a confirmation from NASA that this picture is 100% legit, and hasn't been altered in any way.

Live Q&A for Hangouts On Air: interact with all your viewers
With Hangouts On Air, you can take a group video call and broadcast it to the world. And we've seen everything from concerts to political debates to online classes share their conversations 'On Air.' What's been missing, however, is a way to interact with your live audience (vs. only the people onscreen). Not any more.
Today we're introducing Live Q&A for Hangouts On Air — the first of many features to help you engage with your viewers. If you’re hosting the broadcast, you'll now be able to:
- Solicit questions from up to a million concurrent viewers
- Select and answer questions live
- Timestamp the YouTube recording by marking questions as you answer them
If instead you're watching the Hangout On Air, you'll now be able to ask and vote on questions live, as well as replay the Q&A even after the broadcast is over.
We're rolling out Live Q&A over the next few days (fully on desktop, view-only on Android), so look for the new features the next time you start or watch a Hangout On Air. In the meantime, you can check out these examples to see how Live Q&A can enhance your broadcasts:
- Art and Inquiry by +MoMA Edu: http://goo.gl/hLohOv
- Live Car Talk by +Scotty Kilmer: http://goo.gl/cMZtz4
- Sony vs. Nikon by +Trey Ratcliff: http://goo.gl/4xEFXW
Keep the feedback coming, and keep those broadcasts going!

The Book of Questions
I saw this shared by +David Brin and have checked it out. Wow. Some of these will make you wince. Like:
"For $50,0000 would you put to sleep a healthy pet you love? How much more or less money would it take to change your answer?"
But how would you answer both questions?
