The Brain has Grown and Folded: All in the Mind
Hi, it’s Stephen Wolfing, science correspondent at the Greenygrey. Greenygrey in the human world was totally separate from the Folding Mirror poetry form when the two concepts emerged five years ago. However, through research and new discoveries the two fields have converged over the last half-decade.
Mind Is Not Brain (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
In the natural world and human architecture there are many examples of greenygrey folding mirrors, such as horizons and reflections.
Greenygrey All in the Mind
The Greenygrey in the human mind is most easily defined as a kind of bipolar schizophrenia: the division of the mind into at least two separate parts; more vertical than horizontal.
Meanwhile, the Folding Mirror poetry form divides two halves of poetry with a middle line: more horizontal than vertical.
The Greenygrey concept has therefore provided a lot of conceptual material for Folding Mirror poems.
Physical Evidence of Folding Brain Folds to Fit Skull
While the Greenygrey is only a concept when it comes to the human brain, the actual physical matter is called Gyri (ridges) and Sulci (crevices), and it has folded itself to fit into our skulls.
Apparently, if the brain was unwrapped it would be the size of a pillowcase.
Gyrisulci doesn’t seem that far off the Greenygrey to me!
Marc Latham drew this self-portrait around about the time when the Folding Mirror poetry form started.

British Politicians Big Pay Rise and Public Sector Greed
Amazon paperback and kindle.
Hi, it’s Greenygrey. It’s the beginning of the weekend, so we think it’s time for the latest thrilling installment of the epic time-travel rock music through the decades with a central role for 1980s trash metal music story within a bigger story, with the bigger story told in Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps, which is now available on Amazon and lots of ereaders via Smashwords.
Terminator to Trash Target
Cover of The Terminator [Blu-ray]
In this episode the Grunginator’s target is revealed, as the Terminator‘s target and reasoning were revealed long after it burst into the 1984 movie with gunfire and corny dialogue.A background theme to the storyline is the demonising of the British working-class by New Labour, which was followed by much of the country until the New Labour and elite society charade was exposed by the economic collapse and widespread corruption.
British Politicians’ Big Pay Rise
English: Crop of UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown at the WEF 2008 (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
The British political elite are now set to reward their misbehaviour with a pay rise at a much bigger percentage of their wage than most people are receiving; with many workers hardly receiving anything, or taking pay cuts.
I think politicians are underpaid compared to £100,000+ public servants, but that’s because those public servants are grossly overpaid compared to most people and their value to the taxpayer.
The £100,000+ public servants should be taking a pay cut, rather than politicians having an inflation-busting increase to catch up with them!
The Irony of Seasick Steve Success
[image error]
English: Seasick Steve, playing at “Where the action is”, a music festival in Stockholm. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Around the same time as the British working-class was being attacked to the point of abolition under New Labour’s ‘classless society’ spin, Seasick Steve became a darling of the liberal elite.
This was despite Steve being an American version of the British working-class considered not worthy of funding and defending by some of the new liberal elite; epitomised by Prime-Minister Gordon Brown.
If Seasick Steve had been a British child in the 1950s he might have been sent to Australia like some of the Homes children that inspired the exiling of Grey at the start of this story.
Not that injustices don’t also happen in the American system, and some British people of course receive an acceptance in other countries that they don’t receive in their own.
Anyway, that’s enough seriousness for a fun sun friday in Blighty, and here’s the latest Werewolf of Oz episode, which also stars a good LA rock band that didn’t quite make it big:
Chapter 84. Love/Hate are Wasted, and the Target is Revealed
The seasick looking guitarist passed us and walked half way down the alley. He had just started singing that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, and that he had been born with nothing and still had most of it left, when he was sent flying back past us by a gunshot to the stomach. My shock was compounded moments later when I heard a voice say, ‘We don’t want no old trash in the future.’
Even Dizzy looked surprised. He whispered that he thought the Grunginator was out of control, as it was only programmed to kill trash metal bands; before saying we’d better scarper. So we raced down another alley in the opposite direction, and into a red room.
Meeting Love/Hate suffering a Blackout in the Red Room
Blackout in the Red Room (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Some musicians were suffering a Blackout in the Red Room; the room had an American decor, so it was obviously Love/Hate. It wasn’t hard to recognise them, as they were famous for getting Wasted in America. We tried to warn them about the Grunginator, but couldn’t awaken them.
A shadow at the door looked ominously like the Grunginator, so we continued running in the other direction, leaving Love/Hate to their fate. A few moments later, we heard several shots ring out in the room we’d just left. I guessed Love/Hate had once again been Wasted.

Angry Revealed as Target
As we ran down the corridor I glimpsed a billboard poster on the wall. It drew my attention because Angry was featured on it. The poster advertised Angry making a special guest appearance with Guns N’ Roses at the Whiskey a Go-Go. The date had been scratched off, so I asked Dizzy when it was supposed to be happening.
After a few seconds of thought he said, ‘Of course, that’s it, tonight’s the night when Angry inspires the LA metallers; propelling them into the 1990s. It’s the Guns N’ Roses concert with Angry guesting that the Grunginator is programmed to target. We’ve got to escape the Grunginator and get Angry to the concert somehow, or it’ll be all over for trash metal.’
Wow, I thought, our Angry is a rock n’ roll star.

World Evolving from Greenygrey Source to Pink Bedroom?
Hi, it’s Baron Wolfman, still head honcho @ Greenygrey Creation in the absence of Andy Wolfhol. While ol’ Wolfhol was considered an artistic genius, I am widely considered to be the Tommy Cooper of art in the Greenygrey world. Cooper was a comedian that used magic tricks in his act; doing them badly, but sometimes making them work.
The Magic Act Behind this Blog Evolution
Although you will receive this blog as a finished product, hopefully enjoying it, but probably not considering it that amazing among all the amazing things in the world wide web, there is a little more amazingness about how it evolved… into a blog about evolution.
It started off as an emorfes blog images round-up, but then I thought I’d add the Greek helmet evolution image, and then remembered the greenygreyness of the Source Code movie, and then the B&Q greenygrey/pink image advert.
Then, when I had them all in mind I noticed an evolution theme to the three additional photos, so saved the emorfes for another day. Here’s the other photos, and an additional Chicago canal one. I hope you think the magic worked, and you enjoy them.
The Source Code
I was amazed at how greenygrey Chicago’s streets and canals looked in the recently watched movie Source Code; in fact, although I’ve been there, I didn’t even know Chicago had canals!:
Chicago canal.
Moreover, I didn’t know at the time that a poster advertising Source Code was even greenygreyier!:
Source Code movie poster.
Greek Helmets Evolution
I’d also watched a documentary about Greek civilisation, and saw their helmets remained largely greenygrey through their evolution:
B&Q Advert Evolution
Moreover, in a B&Q advert they depict the evolution of a bedroom from unloved to unbelievable as being from greenygrey to pink!:
B&Q Advert.
We hope you loved and believed this blog!!

Show Don’t Tell about Terminator, Grunge Music and Technology
Hi, it’s Greenygrey. In today’s thrilling episode of comedy satire epic Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps Dizzy explains the background to the Terminator time-travel goings on in Kerang-Kerrang in a classic example of the show don’t tell writing technique.
This involves travelling forward into the 1990s, and the arrival of grunge on the rock scene. Here it is:
Chapter 83. Will Grunge Rock Robot Destroy Trash Metal Music?
Celebration (Uriah Heep album) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
We sped through the alley, before ducking behind a Uriah Heep piled high in a derelict building carved out of rock. I blended in well with the grey surroundings, but the others were too colourful to be camouflaged. As we caught our breath in the net of time, I asked Dizzy what on earth was going on.
No Place for Trash in the Grunge Decade
Dizzy said that while there had been a peaceful transition from trash metal to grunge rock in the real world; in the media world where Kerrang resides, conflict had built up.
As the 1990s wore on, and grunge lost its strength, a small group of grungementalists wrote their own history of the decade.
Kurt Cobain: About a Son (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
They believed that Kurt Cobain would not have left them if trash metal hadn’t survived into the 1990s and made him miserable.
Of course, in reality Cobain had a lifetime of complex mental health issues, but the grungementalists didn’t want facts to cloud their agenda, so they focused on only one or two episodes in Kurt’s life.
The Making of Jeremy Grunginator
A shadow appeared at the building’s entrance, and we readied ourselves for more death-defying excitement; but it turned out to be an old hobo who looked seasick the way he played his guitar.
Recovering from the scare, I took the opportunity to grill Dizzy some more, asking what the grungementalists had to do with our current predicament. He explained that they were led by a technological genius named Frank Grungenstein. Grungenstein supplied constant espressos in a secret coffee house, so his team worked all hours blending a Pearl Jam with a Percolator. On the tenth attempt they perfected the Instant Prosecutor Ten.
I was already amazed, but there was more.
Frankenstein Remade [A Gender Switch Adventure] – Marly Shelley (Photo credit: Jekkara Press)
Dizzy said the IP10 was made Alive with electricity, and because it had an amazingly Even Flow it was nicknamed Jeremy. Its scientific name was the Grunginator. They sent it back to 1980s Kerang-Kerrang to destroy trash metal, in the belief that the 1990s would then be a better decade for Cobain and them, and grunge would remain strong. It all made sense now.

Andy Murray Wins Wimbledon, Lions Win Australia Test Series
Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams, comedy satire sports correspondent at the Greenygrey. Sorry to those tuning in for your second episode of Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps of the week, but an amazing weekend of greenygrey-relevant sport took place this weekend, so the next thrilling installment of your favourite werewolf travels Australia fantasy travel adventure has been rescheduled to Monday.
British and Irish Lions Outpace Wallabies
The weekend started off on the right paw when the British and Irish Lions caught the Australian Wallabies on the hop, winning the third test 41-16 to take the series 2-1.
Mexican Wolf (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
It was the first Lions series win since 1997, and first in Australia since Marc Latham helped them to another series deciding win in Sydney 1989.
The Lions were more reminiscent of wolves than lions this time in Sydney, as their endurance saw them to victory after the Wallabies courageously fought back from a large opening half-hour deficit. (the Lions are of course known as Wolves in the wolf world, and Wollions in the Greenygrey world).
Andy Murray Wins Wimbledon
Then Andy Murray became the first British (thank you Scotland) Wimbledon men’s champion since 1936 on Sunday. While winning the Wimbledon warm-up tournament at Queens Murray wore a kit that has been passed by the Board of Greenygrey Sport as sufficiently greenygrey to be greenygrey.
After winning the Wimbledon title, one of the first things Murray did was to embrace the Greenygrey:
The commentator said that sporting immortality doesn’t come easily. We know that werewolf immortality doesn’t either!

Mount Ulriken, Bergen, Norway Photos and Poem
Hi, it’s Jack Wolfpac, legendary independent travel correspondent at the Greenygrey, and poet. Marc Latham this morning posted a blog and poem about returning to civilisation from the wilderness so it was right up my street… or mountain path.
Returning to Bergen from Mount Ulriken
Greenygrey provides first aid kit on Mount Ulriken.
Marc posted a blog with several snowy mountains and waterfalls photos about returning from Mount Ulriken to Bergen on travel25years.wordpress.com.
Marc unexpectedly returned not to the path he’d ascended the mountain on, but to one he’d nearly visited a few days previously, when a tunnel ended his random ramble.
Poem about Returning to Humanity from Wilderness
Greenygrey for the future.
Writing up that blog reminded Marc of a poem he’d recently written about the joys of returning to human civilisation from the wilderness, so he published it on fmpoetry.wordpress.com.
The poem contrasts with the previous poem published on the website, which had a theme of the joys of isolation within wilderness. There’s lots more explanation over on fmpoetry, but here’s the poem:
Lights of Life, Homes to Humanity
waterfalls, willows, wheels
fireworks outshine city neon
enlightened valley
signs of humanity
on New Year’s Eve
through canyons weave
weary travellers emerge tunnel
poured from natural funnel
enjoyed time’s contemplation, downhill to destination
memories of my species
hive aura buzz oozes
entering concrete civilisation
time of peak imagination
dogs of wolves
wildcat shadows
skyscrapers mirror mountain memories
avenues, alleys, abodes

Terminator Time Travel Werewolf of Oz Theme
Hi, it’s Greenygrey. We travelled over sea and mountain looking for ol’ Wolfhol, but alas to no avail; and then when we returned there was another postcard on this blog bearing ol’ Wolfhol’s distinctive and seemingly impossible to forge aW signature.
Werewolf of Oz Rock Time-Travel Tale
Sorry that our wild werewolf wild goose chase kept us from bringing you your usual quota of your favourite veggie werewolf travels Australia to a Wizard of Oz theme comedy satire epic classic Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps.
After the last episode saw the travellers enter the Kerang-Kerrang time-travel town in the 1980s, and Bonzo leaving the adventure, this episode sees Bonzo return; but only for a short visit, with a warning of terrible danger, leading to a Terminator movie theme, and references ranging from the Battle of Waterloo to Faster Pussycat.
Chapter 82. Terminator Livens Up Kerang-Kerrang
The four of us travelled farther into 1980s Kerang-Kerrang. We missed Bonzo, but knew the journey must continue.
Ale Hail Denim and Leather
Rainbow lorikeet in Victoria, Australia. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
The streets were full of people wearing denim and leather. The colourful patches sewn onto the backs of the denim supported a mix of traditional and new bands: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Rainbow were common names representing the former, while Saxon, Iron Maiden and Def Leppard were the most popular of the latter.
We strolled down Festivals Street, frequenting the Reading Rocks and Monsters of Rock bars; before moseying along Concert Alley and stopping off in the Bandwagon, Queens, Sophia, Marquee and Apollo.
Bonzo Catches Up with us in LA
Then we headed over to the LA district. As afternoon became evening we found ourselves on Sunset Boulevard. We were getting peckish, so headed over to the Rainbow Bar and Grill, where a promising band called Faster Pussycat was playing.
We’d just polished off some veggie raindogs when Bonzo rushed in. It was a nice surprise and fantastic to see him, but it looked like something was amiss.
English: AC/DC with Bon Scott. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Bonzo said he’d remembered something from when he fainted that might be relevant to us: when he was unconscious he dreamt of a robot that would Shoot to Thrill trying to kill us. He couldn’t remember anything else, so didn’t know why or when.
We thanked him for his consideration, and started catching up with all our other news over a few drinks. A couple of hours later it was unfortunately time to say our goodbyes once again, and we all waved Bonzo Back in Black.
Grunge Terminator Shoots Down the Band
Cover of The Terminator [Blu-ray]
We had just finished discussing Bonzo’s vision, and were asking each other why we hadn’t heard more of Faster Pussycat in rock history, when I noticed a lone grungeman walk in looking like something out of another time. The next thing, he started shooting at the band, and didn’t take long to turn it into a House of Pain. Then he looked around to where we were sitting and took aim at us. Just when I thought we’d met our Waterloo, Dizzy Reed suddenly jumped into the space between us and starting shooting out November Rain from his portable keyboard.
The ’90s trash metal classic startled the grungeman, and that gave Dizzy enough time to usher us out the back. We emerged into an alley, and for the moment at least, made good our escape. I had a momentary sense of relief, but it was tempered by the nagging thought: What the hell is going on!
—————————————————————————————————-
Notes
Grunge music emerged out of Washington state in the late 1980s, and went global in the early 1990s.
Trash metal emerged out of LA in the 1980s, mixing metal, punk and glam. It was later lumped in with ‘hair metal’.
The Battle of Waterloo in 1815 was Emperor Napoleon’s last battle.
Bands, concert halls and festivals explained within the narrative.
House of Pain is a Faster Pussycat song.
November Rain is a Guns N’ Roses song.
Dizzy Reed is the Guns N’ Roses keyboardist.
