Review: ExtraNormal by Suze Reese (YA novel)

ExtraNormal was a nice change of pace from the werewolves, angels/demons and vampires that have saturated the market. Be warned: This is a young adult novel!



I had some misgivings about this novel, even pushed it aside several times and read something else. Aliens? Not my usual cup o tea. BUT I'm glad I gave ExtraNormal a chance. The main characters are likeable, Mira and Jesse's forbidden love was a little cheesy, but hey ... they're only seventeen. Everyone is cheesy at that age, right? I loved the idea of Mira (and her parents and bff) being able to do this neat mind-meld thing and have a conversation. Her BFF was still on the home planet, holding a convo with her, so even though they were separated by a vast amount of space, they still had access to one another's thoughts. Neat!

If you're in the mood for something different, something that will make you laugh at and even worry about the characters, ExtraNormal is for you. I give it 3.5 stars out of 5.
