We're waiting for Girl to return from a school trip today — gone since Monday morning. I really miss her.

Don't know how YOU'RE feeling at the end of a hectic summer, but this is how I'm doing...
I'm going to work on my story for Jeff Vandermeer's anthology today. Take the dogs (and kids) out for a Labor Day walk. Then puzzle out the secrets of Time and Space. If there's any time left over I suspect a power-nap.

Had an excellent family get-together. Even got to play a very small amount of music with my brothers — wish it could have been more.
The whole mammal-clan-groupthink thing is very soothing. I'm lucky enough to have an extended family I really like, and with whom I see eye-to-eye on all the important things. Lets my psyche relax a little.
My faithless children did not believe he existed. But he does! The greatest superhero ever!
