A Traditional Style Tanka

Last days of summerour lips tingle with citrus your ghost vanishes as the moon aches for the nightcircling the Earth to return.

Immeasurable Majesty

Sometimes change comes quietly,A guest I didn’t know was near,His kindness gracious renewal,I am loved in by this universe,I can’t help but welcome,All that he brings.

Mirage

On a tangerine canvas, pregnant seahorsesfloat through the air, their tails painting the sky,as I dream in the sun, looking out on winterwind and wine.

David Levithan YA books

A beautiful balance of poetic rhythms through a story collection! From Invisibility to The Realm of Possibility and all his works in between, I'm in awe of the beauty David Levithan creates, not only in sweet characters and stories, but in the juxtaposition and balance of his sentences and the rhythm he creates with fragments. Beautiful diction too! Totally worth checking out!

the dreaming after the storm

I look for the shaman,a trickster of disappearing, remembering how I too saw auras and colours, peace emerging through mystical trances,a healing touch of graceas stories passed through me, and I wonder if she is inside me.
