My WIP
Hola!
I got tagged on Facebook by author JoLynne Valerie to talk about my next project. One thing you have to understand about me is I haven't mastered the art of staying focused so...I'll be working and then something will grab my attention and I'll need to start writing it. Eventually I commit to one project and then go...so I'll give you information about that one. So... *drum roll*
What is the working title of the book?
Lord and Lady Death
Where did the idea come from for the book?
I am writing a romantic version of the German fairy tale Godfather Death.
What genre does the book fall under?
Definitely romance, maybe slightly on the erotic side but...probably paranormal romance.
What actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
David: He, as my heroine so affectionately calls him, is Death Jr. Soon to take over the family business after he marries. I would have him played by probably Tom Felton...maybe...if I had to choose...
Melanie: She is the bride of Death Jr, traded to Death Sr before she was born, by her father. I would have her played by Tiffany Theissen.
Marcus: Affectionately known as Death, I would have him played by James Purefoy...sexy, slightly dangerous, and totally drool worthy. I am a little bit in love with Death Sr, even if he isn't the main character.
YOU CAN SEE MY PIN BOARD FOR THIS BOOK HERE.
What is a one sentence synopsis for your book?
Death Jr marries his coerced bride to gain the powers of death and stop Lucifer from wiping out civilization.
I KNOW RIGHT!?!
Will your book be self published or represented by an agency?
To be honest, I don't know. I just write it and see what I want to do with it afterward.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?
Oh...I'm still writing it...only a few chapters in and having a blast getting to know these characters.
What other books would you compare this story to in your genre?
I would have to go with something like Gena Showalter's Lords series or anything by Michele Hauf. This story is dark, dangerous, and sensual.
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
I was trolling around Wikipedia one day using the random button and landed on fairy tales but I wanted to read some that I had never heard of before. That's when I caught Godfather Death and fell in love with the idea.
What else about the book might pique the reader's interest?
I'm not sure really. There is the whole death and bible aspect that is somewhat intriguing. The bible verses that helped me jump into this story are:
"Her house is the road to the grave, her bedroom is the den of death." - Proverb 7:27
"The late enemy that shall be destroyed is death." 1 Corinthians 15:26
As the character in V for Vendetta once said I don't have to follow the religion to find the words and imaged beautiful or moving.
Thanks JoLynne and I hope everyone reads this piece should it be published.

New Cover
Hey Everyone,
Here is my new cover for the next short story.
If you are wondering why it looks similar to my other cover is because Decadent uses stock covers for their Edge line since unique cover art is pricey. I still like this one as much as I like the other :)

Hmm...OH YEA
Hola!
I realized I forgot to tell you my big news. I signed a contract with Breathless Press for a paranormal romance...and it was the first book I wrote. I was super excited, I adore their covers, I can't wait to see mine.
In other news I just finished a novella that's out for submissions and another menage short. Something clicked in my this year...you have to write to be a writer. Sure, I want to be published but books aren't going to write themselves and publish for me. Just like trying to lose weight, it's not just going to fall off.
Anyway...lots of great things going on!
Have a great weekend, everyone stay warm.
XOXO
