Sorry for the Delay
Hello Readers,
Sorry it's been awhile since I've dropped in. I am happy to announce on Dec 2nd my newest Count installment was released. In January there will be two more releases to finish the collection. I am currently working on a few pieces but sadly the writing bug has not hit me. I recently read Ray Bradbury's Zen in the Art of Writing and I LOVE IT. I am adopting some of his inspiration techniques and I am already enjoying the output.
I have a couple short stories I want to get finished up this month and submit then I have a paranormal romance and a new adult full lengths I am working on.
Also, keep an eye out for January, Ill be having a HUGE, and I mean YUGE!!! (yes that's not on purpose) giveaway of signed books...LIKE RIDICULOUS so keep watch for that.
I love you all, don't forget that, and please hug your family and have a happy holiday, whichever you celebrate.
XOXO
Monica

Halloween Blog Hop
Dearest Readers (and all you newbies stopping by for the hop),
I am feeling the Halloween fever. I have my costume all picked out (I shall be the 11th incarnation of The Doctor) and I can't wait for my coven's Samhain ritual this weekend.
I would like to talk to you today about the thinning of the veils. For those who haven't studied All Hallows lore and legend I shall give you a brief run down.
Halloween is a contraction of All Hallows Eve, the night before the 1st day of November that served as a day to remember the Hallows (or the saints) and the dearly departed. There are many roots to this festival such as the Gaelic and Welsh festival of Samhain, All Hallows Day, and even the hispanic Dia de Los Muertos.
One thing you can be certain about is that this festival is all about the dead. The myths say that on All Hallows Eve the veils between the world of the living and the dead thins allowing the spirits to wander on Earth to see loved ones, walk their own haunts, and even cause mischief.
Now that you know a tad about the celebration and festivities I will share some of my favorite treats with you.
APPLE CIDER. I'll say it again...APPLE CIDER. There is nothing like a warm cup of hot delicious apple cider on a crisp fall night. Once that cold scent hits the air I long for all things cinnamon and apple.
HOCUS POCUS. I kid you now when I was a kid my mother would take my sisters and I to the movie store to pick out rentals (I just dated myself I know) and I would always (Halloween or not) ask to get Hocus Pocus. It's a campy mix of fun and fright with a 90's backdrop, you can't go wrong with this Halloween favorite.
SCARVES. I have about fifteen different scarves and right around Halloween is when I get to take them out and wear them proudly (Ill be honest I wear them year round but I do get some strange looks). I love the big chunky ones that keep your neck warm and the thin ones you can wrap for days and then up wrap and use as a pashmina if you get cold. LOVE THEM ALL.
CANDY. I love chocolate but there is nothing like ghost shaped peeps, bat shaped Reece's, and an excuse to buy a year's worth of candy and then eat it so it doesn't go bad..obviously.
COLOR CHANGING LEAVES. I adore everything about the New England in the fall. The leaves changing vibrant colors and I get to watch from the small little corner of my world. There is something magical about those colors and I wait for them every single year.
I'll leave you with a way to spice up your own store bought apple cider at home:
In a slow cooker, combine apple cider and cinnamon sticks. Wrap allspice and cloves in a small piece of cheesecloth, and add to pot. Stir in brown sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat, and keep warm. Easy Peasy.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
The next (and last) stop on this tour is the lovely: Jennifer Leigh Scott

October's Trials and Tribulations
Dearest Readers,
As you know October has been a hard month for a lot of people, I was no exception.
The month started out with me being furloughed and my savings depleted as I tried to make up a paycheck, one that I had no idea when it would be reinstated. Additionally, I was told we are being laid off, not right this moment, but in a little while. Nothing like an office morale builder, I tell ya.
Furthermore, BOTH of my great grandmothers, one on my dad's side and the other on my mother's passed away. They led beautiful full lives and lived to late 80s and early 90s. I am happy they are in a better place but I still feel the loss of them in my life, and for one the loss of never really knowing her as I could, and should, have.
My month basically continues in this way until finally I hit a week where I can get out of bed and not want to fall off a building, that is Monday (last monday). I was approved for a new apartment and even got a month free rent to start saving again.
Life doesn't punch me in the face often but when it does it's usually a sucker punch.
I am currently fending off emails from the obligations I've overshot and one from my publisher because I am also about two weeks late on Book 5 of The Count.
<enters writing cave, waves at the people on the outside until he door closes>
Be patient with me loves I am trying to get my life together.
XOXO
Monica

Hi!
Sorry it's been a minute. I just wanted to update everyone on what's coming down the pipe.
I am about to turn in Book 4 of The Count, and then Book 5 on the 15th. I have two short stories for anthos in the works, one for Ravenous, one for Cleis.
Additionally, I'm working on a story I want to self-publish and one I want to submit to Breathless (the sequels to Kiss and Tell and Legend's Fall.)
Thanks for sticking with me!
XOXO

WOAH Posts THREE Days In A Row
Hey There Lovlies,
I know...posts three days in a row. I'm just trying to motivate myself to do something everyday for my books. Today I'll discuss what I do when I'm tired, have little time, and don't feel like writing.
I write anyway.
You can't be a writer and have books published without writing. I am suffering from a severe lack of inspiration lately. I had some briefly back a few days ago but it was short lived.
I just put the kidlet to bed and shortly I am going to work on a couple homework assignments and write something, anything, for an hour at least. In reward for my perseverance I will get Doctor Who and pizza. :) Yes, sometimes I have to bribe myself like a child but...you gotta do what you gotta do.
Take care loves,
Monica

Writer's Block
Ahh the age old problem. Almost every writer out there knows it and probably has clever little tricks, schemes, and plots in order to loosen it's hold.
I am currently in it's grip and you want to know what I do? I bake.
Baking requires the exact application of certain ingredients. Once complete and baked exactly the concoction comes out in a dreamy perfect cure to anything.
Tonight, it's pumpkin spice cookies because I wish it wasn't 90 in September.
Fall is my favorite season so I love pumpkin, heavy scarves, coffee, and boots.
Hug your loved ones and go forth and be nice.
