Tuesday’s Teaser Loving Leonardo   &n...

Tuesday’s Teaser
 Loving Leonardo
By: Rose Anderson        Bound by limits dictated by society, Art Historian Nicolas Halstead lived a guarded life until a tempest in the form of Elenora Schwaab blew into his world. At first Nicolas can’t decide if the audacious American is simply mad or plotting blackmail for not only does she declare knowledge of his homosexuality, she offers him a marriage proposal.
After Ellie tells him of a previously unknown work of Leonardo da Vinci, a book of erotic love poems and sketches dedicated to the artist’s long-time lover Salai, Nicolas joins her in a race to save the book from destruction. Along the way they encounter Historian Luca Franco and discover a comfortable compatibility that comes to redefine their long-held notions of love.
The trio embarks on an adventure of sensual discovery, intrigue, and danger.  Little do they know Leonardo da Vinci’s book is far more than meets the eye.

                                                               TEASER TIME...

Nicolas has an encounter aboard ship and Ellie want details.

I’d just returned when Ellie entered our stateroom and informed me she wanted to take that bath she’d missed earlier. I watched her gather this and that and close the door behind her. That I experienced a sudden wash of guilt over my romp with the fair Dutchman came as a surprise. I didn’t like that feeling, nor did I care for it overlaying my angst associated with my newly-realized sexual nature. Pulling the cord, I waited for the steward.
The man arrived several minutes later. “How may I help you, sir?”
“Please send ‘round a decanter of brandy and two glasses if you would.”
“Yes sir, I’ll get that straightaway.”
I used the time to dress for bed. I had only the dressing gown as I usually slept in the nude, but decided for our first shared bed, it was better to be clothed. We’d been together round the clock for three days but this was our official first night. Thankfully, we had a lifetime to become accustomed to one another. And this was a good thing. My nerves were strung taut. I hoped the brandy might help.
By the time she entered the sitting room smelling of jasmine, I was pouring her a brandy and having myself a third. I’d always enjoyed the scent of jasmine.
For the first time I took notice of the little things about her, things that I’d found pleasant enough as we traveled but now found strikingly beautiful. Ellie had delicately arched eyebrows and her pink bottom lip was fuller than the top. Unpinned, her riot of cinnamon curls fell like a cloud to the small of her back and damp ringlets framed her fresh-washed face. I’d only seen her hair up in pins these past few days. I had no idea she possessed a lovely mane that would bring about the desire to bury my fingers in the mass. Art historian I, she reminded me of William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s Venus. She smiled prettily and that Venus transformed into Renoir’s Little Irene so completely, it made me blink. I’d found her high-styled and attractive that day she breezed into my home. I found her no less than a work of art now. Port and brandy loosening my tongue, I told her so.
She smiled and it lit her eyes. It wasn’t quite the bold smile she treated me to in my townhome, but it had that quality I found so appealing. In what could only be described as having the minds of two men inside my head, I felt my cock thicken, the sensation instantly squelched by that returning rush of guilt. We had to talk, and god help me, I didn’t know where to begin. I handed her the glass, took another for myself, and swept my hand to the settee. “Come sit with me, Ellie.”
She sipped her brandy and sat beside me on the small settee. She said, “We don’t have to revisit our conversation, you know. We can talk of other things.”
I nodded. I had other things on my mind at the moment. So we chatted about the meal, the dinner company, the voyage in general. Then, she suddenly thrust at me a point of no return. “He was quite handsome, don’t you think?”
I blinked. “Who?”
“Our dinner companion, Jerone Some-such. I don’t remember his last name — you know, the Dutch brother to the sister sitting with us tonight?”
My heart started to pound. “Pleasant enough. Why do you ask?” Draining my snifter in one overlarge sip that nearly choked me, I let the alcohol flame run like a burning fuse down my gullet.
Eyeing me sharply, she smiled that knowing smile of hers; a smile that caused me to feel a heavy presence between my legs. It was everything I could do to keep my robe from rising like P.T. Barnum’s circus tent.
I couldn’t help but feel she led the conversation when she said offhandedly, “I assume there will be men in your life. I might be wrong, yet I’m certain the man is attracted to you.”
Refilling my glass for the fifth time, I reached for hers as an afterthought. “You bring up a point I wish to discuss.”
Realization dawning in her wise ocean-blue eyes, she drained her brandy in one astounding swallow. Those same eyes watering, she handed me her glass. I saw the dawning transformation a split second before she burst into a delighted squeal. “You didn’t!
I opened my mouth to speak and absolutely nothing came forth. I couldn’t think of what to say for myself. My silence condemned me.
“You did!
Ellie’s eyes were bright and her color high, either from spirits or the request forming in her mind. “Will you tell me about it?”
Her assertiveness appealed to me, no question about it. However, I wasn’t sure this was a topic one had with a wife. “I don’t think… ”
Fiddlesticks. If my own husband can’t talk to me about his lovemaking, then who can?”
My quickly-downed libations were affecting me. I didn’t know what words to use, where to begin, or even what to say. But that didn’t stop her interrogation.
“I’m assuming the two of you had some sort of encounter… ”
Seeing the blushing excitement before me, my heart fluttered unexpectedly. My Yank was desperate to know the act. The thought she’d want me to describe it left a heavy presence between my legs. In for a penny, in for a pound, I asked, “And what would your feelings be if I had?”
My eyes searched the whole of her for clues as to what she was thinking in that moment. My god, she was a lovely thing. Free of her blousy clothing, she also had small pert breasts in the gossamer folds of her dressing gown. Her nipples were hard. Wondering why, I reached for the decanter.
Her hand on my arm stopped me. Inserting the glass stopper in the bottle, she set it and snifters aside. “Nicolas, we’ve only recently met. And while I grow fonder of you by the day I’m not feeling jealousy, if that’s your concern. I do understand that you have needs that must be seen to. Homosexuality exists in the natural world, therefore is a natural chapter in the book of life. Don’t you agree?”
I nodded. In my inebriation, she might have said Father Christmas was a hedgehog who took tea with the Queen and I would have agreed.
I watched her absently twirl a cinnamon curl around her finger as if she saw what had occurred between the Dutchman and me. Her next words should have surprised me, but they didn’t. “I find the idea of my husband having male lovers a fascinating concept. And besides, how else will I learn about you if you don’t tell me?” Dropping her curl, she laid her hand on my knee. Her touch was warm through the brocade of my dressing gown. I could see the sincerity in her pale eyes when she added, “Please Nicolas, trust me with this aspect of your life. You’re safewith me.”
After three days of non-stop companionship I found myself thoroughly loving how her sharp mind rationalized things. What’s more, an assurance of safety struck a chord in me. I felt myself relaxing, or perhaps this was the work of the liquor. The latter proofed when I heard my own words come out in a slur, “What would you like to know, my dear?”

Sunday’s Spotlight with…Erin SimoneToday’s spotlight auth...

Sunday’s Spotlight with…
Erin Simone
Today’s spotlight author is Erin Simone. Her new book, Forbidden Realm is making waves in the erotic reading world. For a an author, the process can be daunting and a little scary, but Erin has persevered threw it all and is now a successfully published author! So let’s welcome Erin into the fold with her own Spotlight Segment…
My new book Forbidden Realm was just released through Siren-Bookstrand.  The story is about finding new love, surviving loss, and heartbreak.  My two characters come from two different worlds and are both struggling from their own personal heartache.  But when their paths cross unexpectedly, the chemistry between them is sizzling.  They both struggle to resist what they feel for each other and I loved watching these two characters grow together.  I had a lot of fun writing this story and hope my readers will enjoy this story as much as I did writing it.
 Plotter or Pantser?
I am such a Pantser.  I would be lying if I said I outlined every story because I don’t.  My creativity works best when I let the characters tell the story.  I usually start with a general idea, and then I let the characters take the ball and run with it.  I've tried outlining a complete story and it slows me down.
What makes a great hero?
I think a great hero is a protagonist that is brave and willing to take a risk even at his own personal expense.  He shouldn't be completely perfect either, having flaws and overcoming them makes the hero much more relatable.  I love to see a hero start off with certain issues inside himself, and he grows from them.  He also is passionate, desirable, brave and of course he must be sexy as hell.
Do you have anything in common with your characters?
I supposed I do without consciously thinking about it.  But it is not something I intentionally plan.  My characters come to life in my head when I write.   I am only observing it from inside their world, not mine.
What item, or items, is absolutely necessary to your writing mojo?
Music is a must.
Coffee or tea?  Coffee please.
Wine or beer?  Wine.
Is there anything you won't write?
I write what I feel.  I do not put a box around it in my mind.  If it appeals to me and I think there is a good story there and it flows out of me, then I write it.
What’s the strangest (neatest, coolest, etc.) thing you’ve ever done?
I was diving in Mexico and there were sharks in the water with me.  It was kind of freaky at first, but I got over it and I found it to be kind of cool.  Now granted, it wasn’t a Tiger Shark or Great White, but a nine foot Black Tip that is bigger that you is still kind of scary.
Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what type(s) do you lean towards?
Yes, rock, hip-hop, alternative, 80's. I'm all over the place when it comes to music.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
Laurann Dohner, Kresley Cole, Gina Showalter, Jade Black, and Larissa Ione. J.R. Ward to name a few.
What are you currently working on, or what’s on the horizon?
I am currently working on another vampire novel called Into the Shadows of Night which is the continuation of my Night Series.  I also just got signed with Ellora’s Cave for a seven book deal and my latest novel Whispers of Night will be released through them hopefully before the end of the year.
What do you do when you’re not writing?
I work in the legal field during the day and spend time with my family on my off-time.  I'm also a little bit of a social butterfly and love to hang out with my girlfriends when I can carve out a little bit of time.      BUY ME: www.sirenbookstrand.com/forbidden-realm

Saturday’s Signature Author…  &nb...

Saturday’s Signature Author…
Missy Martine Today we have none other than the wonderful Missy Marine with us. She has graced the erotic romance scene several times with her best selling books that weave stories of love, passion and happily ever after.                I’ve been asked to share some things about myself that you might not already know.My life is pretty much an open book, but I’ll try to share a few secret things with you.         I was born, and raised in the great southern state of Tennessee. In my youth, I studied nursing, and spent several happy years working in the hospitals there until I branched out into medical management in 1980.Not many people know that I spent twenty years in a very unhappy marriage. My first book, Table for Three, was loosely based on that abusive relationship. After twenty long years I finally got the courage to walk away.         In 1998 I was managing a medical supply house in Chattanooga, when I met the love of my life. The only problem facing me then, he lived way out in Oklahoma. You see, we had met in a chat room!Just like in my book, I ended up falling for a much younger man.Yep, I’m a real life cougar. The only difference between my real life and my book; I ended up with one young hunk instead of twin brothers JYou can’t make all your fantasies come true J He romanced me daily with love letters, flowers and phone calls.      It wasn’t long before I uprooted myself, and moved west to join him.We married in 1999, and then continued our fantasy romance all over the world.Together we have traveled in almost all of the Continental United States, and taken trips to England, Wales, France, Japan and China.       I retired from working in 2002 and it wasn’t long before my husband was encouraging me to find some kind of outlet to occupy my time, something that was challenging, and rewarding.I was already obsessed with reading about romance, and I began to think I could probably write a good, romantic story. My husband heartily agreed with me.With that encouragement, I began writing my first book.I wasn’t really convinced that anyone else would find it interesting, but he pressed me to take a chance and send it in to a publisher. To my surprise, it was accepted, and now I’m able to share it with readers everywhere who like a “happily ever after” story.       Today, I’m living in California with my, still romantic, husband of thirteen years, and our boys. Our boys consist of Beau, Midnight, and Bubba, three male cats that allow us to live with them and serve them at their leisure.I continue to write almost daily, hoping that someone, somewhere will get the same enjoyment from reading my stories, that I get from writing them. Thanks for letting me share some things. I'd love if you stopped by my website and signed my guestbook. www.missymartine.com  Here are a few of Missy Martine's works that have titillated readers around the world...

Welcome to Friday Frank Talk with...Marla MonroeBestselli...

Welcome to Friday Frank Talk with...Marla Monroe
Bestselling author of over 40 books, you can find Marla and her seductive books at SirenBookstrand. Her new book, “Their Reluctant Submissive”, is the beginning of an enticing new series called, “Knights in Black Leather”.
So Marla tell us…
1.     Where does all this inspiration come from?
I have a very active imagination that never shuts up. I see or hear something like a phrase or name and suddenly an entire world opens up inside of my head. And then there are my close friends who are always eager to help me with my research.

2.     Your characters are vibrant and colorful. You give them a life like quality. Have you ever run into someone who reminded you of one of your characters?
Actually, quite a few times. Sometimes my characters seem so real to me that I have to back up and remind myself that they aren’t. That’s when “open mouth, insert foot” occurs when I meet someone that just screams that character’s name at me. I have to really watch myself when that happens. When you live with them through several books it’s easy to forget they aren’t real.

3.     I see from reading your author page that you’re a nurse. Since we all know some pretty freaky stuff can be seen wandering the halls of a hospital, enlighten us…What really goes on behind those white walls? Is it as steamy as our readers would like to believe?
Oh, don’t get me started. Sometimes it can get really wild. One thing you learn when you work in a fast paced, high stress situation like nurses, doctors, policemen, firemen, paramedics, and the military to name a few, the stress will get to you if you let it. To combat that, they tend to act out. That translates into affairs, kinky play, inappropriate humor, and anything that pushes boundaries.

4.     Most readers believe the more hot steamy sex the better! In some cases, readers would like to believe that if the author can write it, therefore she must live it. So tell us…was there a scene that was inspired by none other than Marla herself?
OMG!  Let’s get personal why don’t we? First of all, some erotic romance writers actually live the life they write about to some degree. I have friends who are in polyamorous relationships and some who live some measure of the BDSM lifestyle.

I am a firm believer in writing what you know to the best of your ability. That means I have experimented in pretty much everything I’ve written about. Is there one scene that was inspired by my kink play? Yeah. Several actually. Of course nothing can compete with the real deal.

5.     You typically write BDSM M/F/M or M/F books. Ever think of venturing off into the M/M sector?
I honestly don’t think I have what it takes to pull it off. It really requires a special author to be able to portray men falling in love with each other. You have to be able to keep them masculine without pitting them against each other. My hat is off to those authors.

6.     How do you keep your BDSM crowd, hungry and aching for more?
I’m not sure, really. I have slowly increased the amount of play into my books over time. Their Reluctant Submissive is the first book in my new series Knights in Black Leather and the entire series centers around the BDSM lifestyle along with ménage. I am toying with not all of the books being ménage, but I haven’t been told by my muses yet what will happen with it.

7.     When writing the heavy sex scenes, how do you keep yourself inspired?
Mostly I let myself fall into my imagination and write them like I would want to experience them. I don’t watch movies for inspiration like some authors do, but I will admit to enjoying the eye candy that some of my author friends post on Facebook. That can be inspiring when I’m having trouble picturing my heroes like I want them. I just go back and pull out the ones that resemble my men and whew, off I go.

8.     What’s in the future for Marla Monroe?
Wow. I can’t even imagine. I want to write between 15 and 20 books a year for Siren and eventually quit my day job. I’m working on another series that will be a step in a different direction for me. It’s a paranormal series of shape shifters. I’m having a lot of fun with them. Other than that, I’m happy writing for Siren and with the way my world is turning.

Well there you have it folks…right from Marla’s mouth! Check out her latest book, “Their Reluctant Submissive” on sale now at SirenBookstrand. Till then, keep reading and tune in next Friday for another Frank Talk with a Surprise Guest!
