Unexplained Time Warp

My friend Steve came to town (Chico, CA) for New Years (he lives two hours south of where I live). It was New Years Eve, so we went out to dinner. During dinner, he was telling me about an amazing pillow he'd bought at the Bed, Bath and Beyond near where he lives and said he wanted to take me to Bed, Bath and Beyond after dinner to buy me one of those fabulous pillows. So I agreed. It being winter, it was already dark outside and it was five minutes before 6:00 PM. The store manager informed us as we walked into the store that we had 5 minutes since it was New Years Eve, they would be closing at 6:00 PM. We quickly scurried to look through the pillows, not finding the one Steve wanted to purchase.

We heard the announcement that the store was closing and to please exit the store. The store manager had to unlock the door to let us out, as it was exactly 6:00 PM. We'd parked near the store entrance and as we got into the car, Steve saw a Krispy Kreme donut shop across the street and suggested we go there to get some donuts. We turned out of the Bed, Bath and Beyond parking lot and the first sign we saw said 'Chico: 15 Miles.' What!!?? I live in Chico. We are in Chico. So how did we get 15 miles away in a matter of 3 to 5 seconds from driving out of that parking lot?? We were speechless, shocked and Steve was actually frightened. We kept driving, heading to my house. We arrived at my house at 6:45 PM, 45 minutes after leaving Bed, Bath and Beyond but the drive is only about a 10 minutes to my house. We talked about it with my family and Steve called his family as soon as we got to my house to share our strange and unexplained experience with them. We're still both stumped as to what happened. There's no way we could have driven 15 miles in the opposite direction of my house in a matter of a few seconds, so what happened to us?” RS

Bright Light / Time Warp

“The loss of time thing happened to me once. I was on the phone with my girfriend at the time and she asked me to come out to her house. She lived about 10 minutes outside of the town I lived in. So as soon as I hung up with her I jumped into the car and left to her house. I remember being on the highway about 2 miles from her house, I looked up in the sky to see a very bright light which descended on the vehicle. Next thing I know I’m pulling up to her house and when she came to the car she asked, “what took you so long to get here?” I said, “I came straight here” and she said, “It took you at least 45 minutes to get here.” Till this day I can’t remember what happened after the light came down on the car. All I remember was pulling up to her house and thinking to myself, “that was weird.” NA

Transparent Being Hovers Over Girl

“When I was about 12 years old, I was at my grandmother's house for the weekend around 1984. It was the middle of the afternoon and I had walked to the corner of the block and as I looked up at the sky I saw this almost transparent being that had an outline around it that was a brilliant white. It had slowly come down and hovered about 40 ft above me for about 30 seconds and then it just shot up into the clouds and an incredible rate of speed! I will NEVER forget that day! Maybe it was an angel, that's all my mind could make sense of it!” TU

Black Eyed Kids in Rome

I recently came across the following account:

So this was August of 2017. I had just graduated about a week prior from college (summer classes) and as part of my graduation gift my parents and grandparents went in together to buy me a flight to Rome. I'm a major history buff so I've always wanted to go to Europe and Rome/Italy especially. One of my friends also went along with me (I'll call him Caleb so I don't have to type out "my friend" a ton but not his real name). Anyways, as both Caleb and I were recent college grads, we didn't exactly have a ton of money to spend on vacation so we stayed in the area of Rome by Termini in a budget hotel.

So, before I proceed, a few things about Rome because there were some misconceptions I had before going. The first is that Rome is dirty and just "feels" sketchy. Because of this you instinctively are looking over your shoulder and I just felt paranoid. The area that Caleb and I stayed at, was near Termini, the main train/bus hub of the city. While it was a super convenient location (less than a 5 minute walk and we could access the metro or a bus to anywhere in the city or a cross-city train) the area just felt run-down with graffiti all over (I mean, more than usual than Rome). The other thing you should know is that Romans like to eat long meals and eat very late, whereas back here in the US I typically eat dinner around 5:30 to 6 and generally finished well before 7:30. Some of the restaurants in Rome don't even open until 7 pm, which leads to you being out a lot later than you had intended.

So one evening after dinner (it was probably around 9:30 or so) Caleb and I were leaving the restaurant to the metro station to head back to Termini when we noticed two children were following us. Now, you hear online that a lot of scammers use children to distract you so I put my hand in my pocket around my wallet and walked a bit faster. Both of the kids were probably around 10 or 12. The lighting wasn't the greatest and the sun had set but they were dressed in dark clothing (whether it was black or brown or even maroon I couldn't really tell at the time). One was a boy and one was a girl. The boy had a very short haircut only slightly longer than a buzz cut whereas the girl was wearing a beret (dark colored) and had long, slightly curly hair. I felt a bit of unease because something didn't seem "normal." At the time I didn't think anything paranormal but was worried about being mugged or pick-pocketed. Anyways, eventually I stop hearing their footsteps behind me and when I look back I don't see them or anyone. The metro ride back to Termini was uneventful, I didn't particularly look for the children but I didn't notice them if they were around.

Once at Termini it was only a couple of minutes to the hotel. Despite it being rather dark (Rome doesn't seem to have adequate street lighting for a city that eats so late!) nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Anyways, I went to my room and Caleb went to his. At this time it was probably around 10:00 at night. So I go to take a shower before bed and midway through my shower I think I hear a knock on my door. I don't think a whole lot about it, this is a cheap hotel and I doubt that its soundproof enough that someone standing outside of my door couldn't hear the shower running. So 2 minutes pass and I don't hear any more knocking and I finish my shower, put on sweatpants and a t-shirt and look out the peephole and I see the 2 children from earlier just standing there.

Now the peephole distorts things so I really didn't think I saw what I saw, but let me try to describe what I saw.

The boy was wearing a maroon button-down shirt with brown pants. He had black hair just barely longer than a buzz cut. But what stood out was his white skin, maybe it was the lighting in the hall but I don't think I've seen anyone with as white of skin as his (and his female companion) it was almost as if someone had painted their skin white. It's very hard to describe without seeing it, it looked almost, bloodless? There was just no warmth to it. His eyes looked to be black, almost like if someone was squinting in that the eyes looked like they weren't there, it wasn't like someone had colored contact lenses at all. It was a very, very strange thing indeed.

The girl was standing behind the boy so I didn't get as good of look at her, but she had very dark brown hair (clearly different than the color of the boy's hair) and it was curly. She was wearing a black beret and a black dress. She had the same weird artificial-looking white skin and the same eyes that looked like someone was squinting

Now at this point I was freaking out a bit. The hotel required a key card to operate the elevator to get to the second story where my room was which made it rather odd that some random kid (who we never did see with any parents) would follow myself and Caleb halfway across Rome and end up in the same hotel, on the same floor and randomly knock on my door. And not just knock, but knock and stand there for at least a couple of minutes (I didn't say anything to indicate that I'd be coming to the door). At this point I double checked the chain lock to make sure it was secure but I think the kids must have thought I was going to open the door when I heard the boy's voice (or at least I assume it was the boy's voice as it certainly didn't sound feminine) say "Aren't you going to let us in? We're lost"

Now, prior to hearing about the Black-Eyed-Kids I thought this was the creepiest part of it because after 4 days of being in Rome, outside of Caleb pretty much everyone did not speak good English and the ones that did speak decent English had a very clear accent of some sort. This though did not, it was clearly the voice of a native English speaker and I couldn't detect that there was really any accent (as in, it didn't sound like anyone from England or have a noticeable southern accent).

I decided that I'd had enough and just didn't make another sound and moved to my bed, I must have just sat there waiting for an hour or so trying not to make a noise or make any indication that I was in the room hoping that they'd decide that their prank or scam wasn't having any effect and leaving me alone. I decided against texting Caleb about it, after all, I was probably just paranoid about nothing and it was just me being nervous being 5000 miles away from home mixed with what I probably would have considered rather funny or mildly annoying rather than scary if it was back in the US.

I suppose eventually I fell asleep and tried to wipe the memory of it from my mind. Caleb never mentioned anything about it so I didn't mention anything to him. The rest of my time in Rome (and my time in Venice and Naples) were without any incident and I haven't encountered anything like this in the US. RB

Weird Buzzing In My Head

“I live in Surrey BC about 20 minutes from Aldergrove. Every night I see something. Around 12-3 am I feel a buzzing in my head. It's like a switch was flicked and I feel weightless. I don't move. (I'm not sure if I can or not. I just don't.) I'm never scared. I feel some sort of euphoria but very calm. One night after it happened I found myself (non graduate quite illiterate) researching what happened. I was able to read about 10 pages of text in seconds. Not looking at the words but skimming them fully comprehending what I was (skimming) reading. I don't understand. I'm afraid of telling people in my life so I stick to the internet. My Facebook has over 1000 messages from people claiming they experienced the same thing. To be honest I wish I could live a normal life. At the same time, I know they have a plan for me. I've come to accept it with open arms. "Peace love and happiness" - every time I feel the buzz I hear this in my head. You don't have to believe me. I could care less. Maybe I have a vivid imagination Maybe not. I guess we will see. I love you all, brothers and sisters. - TF

Deadly Giant Bigfoot-Like Beast Encountered in Afghanistan

I came across the following interesting account today:

Now this account is not my own, but was told to me by a Marine doing combat tours in Afghanistan. For the sake of his own job and security clearance, he has asked that I not give any names and never mention what region they were operating in. From my understanding, the individuals who were with him during the encounter were from a Task Force operating under orders for the CIA. Beyond that, I was told next to nothing. I will refer to him as Sarge if only to have a name.

Anyway, here's his story:

During a patrol checking on some local farmers, Sarge's unit was made aware of a “deadly being” living in a cave system near their farms. When pushed for more information, the locals were only willing to say that this “being” was stealing from their farms and had killed a few people who had made the mistake of trying to protect their livelihood from it.

Convinced the locals were being harassed by a group of Taliban fighters. Half of Sarge's unit was sent out to investigate and either arrest or kill any hostile forces in the area. So, with a few Humvees armed with M2 machine guns, they went out to the cave where the mysterious being supposedly lived.

Upon arrival, they noticed nothing of interest. There were signs that something was living in the cave, and the soldiers found animal bones scattered around the entry. Not wanting to risk his entire unit fighting in a cave that the enemy would know very well, Sarge sent his two fastest Marines to investigate. The two men just gave the others a cocky grin and a thumbs up before disappearing into the darkness beyond the mouth of the cave.

For ten minutes, there was nothing. Not a single sound inside or outside the cave other than the idle chatter of the bored Marines. Then sound erupted from the cave, shouting and screaming. In a matter of seconds the two men emerged from the cave at a full run and zipped past their teammates, one of them shouting, “run, just run!”

But like the hard-ass Special Forces operators they were, the other soldiers stood their ground, only to see a massive man emerge from the cave. He stood nearly ten feet tall with leathery skin and red hair. In one of it's massive hands was a log that it began waving at the soldiers in a very obviously threatening manner.

Shocked, but not panicked, Sarge commanded his men to “shoot that motherf*cker!”, and the twelve Marines opened fire. But the bullets seemed to be doing little more than pissing this giant off. Finally, in desperation, one of them fired a grenade launcher at the being, blowing out a massive chunk of its flesh, exposing a small portion of the ribs and ripping most of the skin and muscle off.

The giant retreated into the cave, and the soldiers decided that the best thing to do was head back to the village and report to the rest of their unit. Clearly this was more than a few Taliban militants. Even with that gaping wound, the giant was too terrifying for the Marines to willingly walk into its territory. So, they headed back and reported to their CO. Of course, their boss didn't believe them and demanded to see proof, so that night, they drove him out to the cave and showed him some of the shredded flesh that had been blown off by the grenade launcher.

From here, the report went up the chain, and nobody knows what was done about this creature.

I wish he would have told me more. From what I've managed to find on my own, accounts like this are not uncommon in that part of the Middle East. Of course, since all of these reports were word of mouth stories, I don't know how factual they are, or if they're being exaggerated. UP

NOTE: this is not the only giant humanoid story that I have heard from Afghanistan. The Greater Kandahar region / Helmand Province seems to be the general area for bizarre activity. Was this a beast similar to Bigfoot? Possibly. Some will say that is was the manifestation of a Djinn. Bigfoot-like creatures have been reported previously in the mountainous areas. There have also been a fair number of unexplained supernatural beasts reported throughout the war zone (as well as further west in Iraq and Syria). Since we have little to no access to cryptid activity in Iran, I can imagine that it also experiences unexplained creatures. Lon

Bigfoot Observed (1989) in Lineboro, Maryland

Hey, I just saw you on a TV show about Bigfoot and I need to talk to you about what I saw with a friend. I lived in Lineboro, MD outside Manchester on PA/MD line. Please contact me back because I know what I saw and I saw Bigfoot for sure. Call me please. Nobody takes me seriously when I speak of it and I am going nuts about it. Weird Creature in Morton, Texas

Yes my name is CQ in Morton, Texas. Around 9:30 pm on October 10, 2019 I saw something that was white and looked liked it was hopping a little bit. It moved in slow motion. The thing looked at me and stopped. It squatted down and remained there for about three minutes. I shined my flashlight at it and the eyes lit up. Cars would pass and it would squat down. It looked like a big white alien rat or something. It was about the size of a full grown large dog. This is the second time I saw it. It was just weird. It didn't want to be seen. It ran or glided. It Was Watching Me As Much As I Was Watching It

“I saw a black triangle in Smiths Falls, Ontario about twenty years ago (around 1998). It made no sound at all, no lights, no engines, no wings, sharp edges and it moved like and air hockey puck but very slowly. As it passed over me, I came very close to crapping my pants. I had no time to process what I was looking at and suddenly, as it's centre mass was above me, all the abduction stories I had ever heard flashed through my mind, like I froze to the spot. I didn't wave or jump up and down like I always thought I would. I watched as it slowly slid across the sky, not moving one hair on my body. It was really low. I might have been able to hit it with a rock. It banked slightly on its side, it was thin, I could see the top of it as it drifted out of sight, heading slightly towards Ottawa. I didn't tell anyone but my folks about it for years. There was a very weak reddish glow coming from the sides and the surface of the mass had a faint brick like pattern. On what I though of as the bottom side, there were two rows of faint but larger whitish arrow like marks (like this one from the keyboard >>>>>). I could have walked after it and kept up but I’m still trying to process it to this day. I know I saw. I know what it didn't look like. I felt it knew I had seen it, that it was watching me as much as I was watching it. The worst thing about it now is when other people talk about seeing things, I'm still a skeptic.” DF

Alien Implant in Ear?

“I saw a UFO when I was younger. My sister and I were outside with our dog playing with him and then suddenly the dog just stopped in his tracks. Then we saw a light beam down on us. There was a loudness coming from it. We were shaking and crying but not being able to move to run for help. Then the light disappeared. The dog beat us, running away. We ran home and he was barking out of his mind. My mom asked what was wrong with the dog and we told her what we saw. She said she didn't see it but she heard an extremely loud rumbling sound come over our home and the energy she felt was extremely weird.

I remember everything except that I had a foreign piece of metal in my head. It was found lodged behind my ear drum 19 years later. I had to get an MRI done and when I got on the table, I went under the scanner. One second later, I was screaming at the top of my lungs. The doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I was crying that my head was ringing and I felt like I was spinning. I was so dizzy it made me throw up. They rushed me into the X-ray room to see what was bothering me. Why did I have a headache so bad and what had made me so sick. The X-ray showed a metal object lodged behind my ear drum. The metal behind my ear drum and the current from the machine sent volts through my body. Doctors said they had never seen anything like that. It was the weirdest thing I had ever experienced. They were able to carefully remove it without any harm to my ear drum but it was very scary. The doctor said from the condition it was in, it was probably in there about 20 years.” SA

Rosemont, Illinois Winged Humanoid Witness Comes Forward

This is a follow-up to Possible 'Chicago Mothman' Recently Observed in Rosemont, Illinois. The witness eventually contacted me by email and by telephone. He was very wary after filing his initial report with MUFON, then having an undesirable discussion with the field investigator. He then searched Google and found my contact information. His first email to me is as follows:

I recently had a sighting of a black creature that flew off on Saturday October 5th in Rosemont, Illinois. I reported the sighting to MUFON and was contacted by an investigator today who is demanding that I talk to him. I advised him that I did not want to talk to him and that I wanted to remain anonymous about this sighting. He then demanded that if I did not talk to him, that I would need to meet him in person to discuss the report and that he would have to take pictures and discuss the report in order for him to give it validity. I felt very pressured to make myself available for the investigator and that he had no interest in my privacy as I had previously requested. I told him that I went to extraordinary measures to insure that my name or picture would not find itself all over the internet. I explained to him that I only took up doing ride-share to provide extra income for my family and I did not want to have my information or my families information posted all over the place for people to ridicule. After emailing back and forth with the MUFON investigator, I decided to look elsewhere for someone to report my sighting to; who was going to respect my request for privacy. I just want to tell my story and then get on with my life. After looking around Google, I came upon your map and then your website and that what leads to my email today. I can copy and paste the text of my sighting to you and am available to speak via email to you but I do not want to meet in person nor be in any photographs. Possible 'Chicago Mothman' Recently Observed in Rosemont, Illinois

I am not some nutter or some kook who is seeing things and I have many, many more things to do than prank websites with made up stories. I saw what I saw and remember it as clear as it had happened five minutes ago. Honestly how could you ever forget something like that. I am available in the afternoon and early evening when I ride-share, during the day I am usually at work and can only talk during my lunch break or during my breaks. I do not wish to talk to the MUFON investigator anymore and if you are associated with MUFON, then I will have to respectfully decline speaking with anyone as they did not respect my wish to remain anonymous.

After gaining the witness' trust, we eventually communicated freely, The following is a more detailed description of the incident and being:

The encounter was so brief, but I also got a pretty good look at the creature. I was parked by the light pole. It allows me to park a little more off the road. I was fumbling around with some charging cables that lead to the backseat of the car, for my passengers to use while in the car. I had my passenger side windows down to give my A/C a break.

It was then that I saw movement and looked up to see the creature emerging out of the trees. It was large and about 6-7 feet tall. It was human-like in appearance, but almost solid black. The were no real features on this thing, just solid black. It swiveled its head around, looking and scanning and that is where I saw the glowing red eyes. The rest of the body was thin, I remember making note that it looked like a thin person and it was sort of hunched over, because its arms were down to about it's knees. The wings were about as wide and it was tall, so about 6-7' in width and looked like the wings of a bat. When it walked it kind of had a weird sort of a waddle, not so much like a penguin but like the kind of stride that a large bird (like an Emu) would have.

It stood there for a few seconds looking around, I know I'm not the only one who saw it because there must have been 3-4 other drivers there waiting for the next call. It unfurled its wings and after a few seconds it began to flap them, slow at first then faster and faster as it leaped into the air. It flew like a large bird would. It used its wings to gain altitude, slowly adjusting itself into a more normal stance. The sounds of the wings were kind of muffled but could still be heard for a few seconds. I will tell you something that I didn't tell the other investigator, In the moment it emerged from the trees, there was a strong smell of ammonia. It smelled like the old ammonia products that they used to use to clean the bathroom. It was very pungent but not overwhelming. When it took off the smell was gone within a minute of two. It took off in a south direction, headed toward the giant inflatable building that houses the indoor golf range.

Have there been reports of this thing recently?

The one question I do have for you is about the previous MUFON investigator. Why the pushy and aggressive posture toward me. It made me feel like he thought I was lying or trying to profit from this in some way?

Large Bat-Like Cryptid Encountered in Barrington, Illinois

The following encounter account was posted on Reddit on Sept. 29, 2019. I followed up with the witness and recently talked to her by telephone:

I am so happy I stumbled onto this sub! This happened 2 days ago and I'm still so confused. I was driving home from work on a bright, sunny day. I get about a mile from my house. I live in a wooded area on Northern Illinois about an hour outside of Chicago. As I'm making my way down an unoccupied street, this creature runs in front of my car about 2 car lengths in front of my car. It was DEFINITELY a bat creature of some sort. I could clearly make out the shape of bat wings. But it wasn't flying. It was running like a gorilla. It would extend its wings out in front of itself and push itself forward, just like a gorilla does when it runs at full force. This thing was also SO black that looked almost flat. And it was HUGE. It was at least half the size of my dog, who is a 70lbs Pitbull/Boxer mix. I tried to search for giant bats in the area and I found some sightings of giant bats flying over Chicago over the last 2 years. I've also found some references to the Mothman and the Jersey Devil, but I don't think this thing was as big as a man. And none of the stories I've read mention these giant bats running. However, I did learn that vampire bats are the only species of bats that run. And based on videos of vampire bats running, this creature moves in a very similar manner. So, now I'm nervous about letting my dog out alone. Any theories are appreciated. KE

NOTE: I contacted KE through the message portal and then talked to her by telephone. Her description to me was that this being was jet black and the size of a human toddler. The wigs were outstretched with attached claws, similar to a bat. It ran across the street very quickly. She did not get a look at the head but said that the body was bat-like but more streamlined. The legs were long and resembled a canine's hocked leg with clawed feet.

This encounter in Barrington, Illinois. The witness had just turned onto Meadow Hill Rd. from W. County Line Rd when she noticed the creature cross the road in front of her. Could this have been a juvenile winged humanoid? Possibly a pet Flying Fox (though I don't think they can walk)? Lon

White Eyes in the Window

“I was camping with my daughter at my dad's house. He lives in the middle of nowhere, hours away from any town. We were sleeping in a trailer outside his house. I heard footsteps in the grass because I had the windows open (it was hot). I thought it was my step-mom trying to spook us because she's done that before. I grabbed the flashlight, anticipating to catch her by surprise, when the knocking started. I said, 'Hello,' thinking she might have something to tell us, and the knocking stopped. I waited for her to say something but she didn't. My daughter screamed then, as a face appeared in the window above her bed. She said, later, that it looked like a child with white eyes, but it must have been floating because the windows were too high up for a child to look through. She slept with me the rest of the night. I kept thinking I heard footsteps and tapping on the trailer throughout the night. When I woke up the next morning, we found hand-prints on the glass but no footprints around the trailer or tracks in the mud. When I told my dad about it, he laughed and said we must have been imagining things. My step-mom swore she didn't go out that night. Still creeps me out till this day.” RD

Bigfoot Encounter in Michigan Upper Peninsula

“First time I saw one was in (outside) Toledo, Ohio in 1964. One walked right in front of the bay window that was 5-6 feet off the ground (it was a tall monster). I saw another one in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, that was a close one. I was fishing in a small boat close to the shore when one came close and freaked me out for a long time. I still don't camp anymore in the woods.

I was about 15, I think, when I went on a camping trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I'm from Toledo, Ohio and have lived close to trees and the woods all my life. Well, I went with an aunt and uncle with the pop up camper (not too safe). It was an okay trip to the campgrounds on some lake in the middle of BFE. The night we got there something took the bag of food my uncle put on a super high tree branch. It was gone in the morning, I knew something was out there. The light brought us out of the camper and we saw the bag was gone (spooky already). Later on in the morning, I wanted to go fishing (in a row boat) of all things. I was probably rowing for a half an hour to get to the other side of the lake and found a cove. So I went in the cove and tossed a line in the water (fishing) it wasn’t but a short time and I heard thunder. That was enough to get me ready to leave as storms are not fun when its cold. As soon as I reeled in the line, I noticed a doe that was standing near the water and getting a drink. She turned to run and froze in her tracks. I looked at the top of the little hill that had a path on it and saw a real live Bigfoot. It was standing up and moving back and forth. I was already in third gear when I saw that. I've heard that some of them like human food (me). I don't know what happened to that baby doe but I'm sure it was caught.” WE

Trout Lake Ghosts

“I lived in Trout Lake, Michigan 30 miles west of Saint Ignace. I rented a cabin by the bluff overlooking Trout Lake. At first I thought it was me misplacing things. My kids complained about being touched. Across the road was a power grid. One day I was mowing my lawn in the front of the cabin and noticed someone walking on the road about a quarter mile away. When I stopped the lawn mower I kept my eye on him. Then he became transparent and faded away. The kids and me the following week took a walk down the road. I looked in the ditch and there was a broken cross that marked were some one was killed on the road. I was awakened by a figure standing at the foot of my bed. It had an old long coat and an old cowboy hat on. On day A friend of mine and I were standing on the bluff by the power lines that cut through the woods. We ran into a man that worked for the power company. I said, 'It's a nice view up here.' He said, 'Yeah, it is. Too bad you're standing on a grave yard.' I said, 'WHAT!' He said, 'That's where they buried the bums that died on the railroad cars that used to merge in Trout Lake over a hundred years ago.' I moved shortly after that.” PM

What Do You See?

Hi Lon,

I’m sending this photo to you because I’ve recently discovered something I’d not initially noticed when the picture was taken in early 2012. I’ve since showed to it family and one family friend, all of them confirm they see what I ‘think’ I might be seeing! This was the house I lived in from the time I was born until I joined the Navy at the age of 19. My parents lived there until the end, my mom passing in 2006, my dad in 2011. The house had been sold to the City a year before my dad passed because he was stricken with irreversible lung cancer and wouldn’t survive, he suggested we make a deal with the City. I was handling his affairs and the City wanted the property for what is today parking for a new City Building. They were more than fair, we made a deal and after my dad had passed, we (my family members) were given access to the place for old time’s sake, that’s when this picture was taken. There were several pics taken and I pretty much dismissed them until recently, when something caught my eye; on the right side of the wood paneling, the area that is bright, I thought I was looking at the large face of a man! To me it takes up all of the panel and more; eyes appear closed, dark hair on top of the brow and what appears to be a beard on the chin. Further, I can make out a nose and an ear on the right side. To those I’ve shared it with, they all see the same thing, without my prompting!

The house was the oldest recorded building constructed to be an actual home in the then small town, circa 1908. There were many other business buildings before it, but business owners back then lived on the premises of their shops/saloons/stores, etc. This house changed hands many times over the years, at one time being a boarding house for perhaps 20 years. My parents bought it in 1955 or 56, I’m not sure, but my older sisters early on reported strange things, like distinct shadow people, with hats and bonnets visiting the original bedroom area each night. I personally never experienced anything out of the ordinary, until December of 2011, after my dad had passed and I was removing the last of the family belongings. There was no electricity or water, it was VERY cold as a result, even for the desert southwest. I had given family friends permission to strip the house of anything salvageable, so the house was stripped. When I was alone and sorting through the final keepsakes (pictures and papers) as to what would be split between me and my two older sisters, it felt like eyes were on me, it was creepy, but I worked through it.

I had everything loaded up and was going to lock the front door on my way out when I remembered, my dad and I had talked about me taking at least one of the remaining two antique door lock sets in order to mount them on a display board. Well, one of the locks was actually used to lock the back door into the house, that wouldn’t work, but the other was into the bathroom, which had two entries; the one with the door using the old lock and another with a now removed modern style door that had been harvested for salvage. So, I got my tool bag, and went to do the deed, working first from the side that I could get at least some weak sunlight for help. It wasn’t going to be easy as there were generations of different paint coatings covering the screws and I had to chip and pry away to get the screws out. The ‘easy’ side done, I had to go now into the bathroom, do the same thing, but having the door shut, it was complete darkness, not a shred of light except for the small flashlight in my mouth. As I started the same paint removal process in order to remove the screws and hardware, I heard and then felt something standing right behind me!

I’ve actually never been so scared and would not dare turn around, I used all my inner-strength to remain focused on getting those screws and finally the lockset out, which I did rapidly! I refused to look behind me, but once I was able to open that door for the now almost completely gone late afternoon light coming from a kitchen window, I once again packed up, this time my tools and all the lockset parts. I loaded them in my vehicle, went back up to the front door and ran through a mental checklist of anything I might have left behind, because I knew that when I pulled that door shut and locked it, if I had to go back inside, I was convinced that whatever had been behind me in the bathroom would be facing me straight up when I cracked open that door again! I kept that experience to myself and when a few months later we made entry for the very last time, when this photo was captured in fact, I said nothing to the large group of family and friends about anything weird, I just wanted everyone to remember how much we loved and missed my dad and my mom leaving us before him. Take a look at the picture and determine for yourself if you glimpse something odd. I’ve been skeptical about seeing things on walls, windows or any surface, including Mars, because light can produce many interesting things. That said, I see a face on the wall of my parent’s now demolished house!

Detailed Description

I was sitting in my car awaiting my next Uber/Lyft call. I was parked on the side of the road near Toll Booth Plaza 31. It is a spot many drivers share. Drivers like to park to be close to the O’Hare terminals, which allows us to pick up rides from the airport. As I was sitting there, fiddling around my car. I saw something walk out of the trees. It was a tall creature about 6-7 feet tall and kind of hunched over. It walked with a sort of gait like almost a waddle. It was completely black when it swiveled its head. I saw two bright red eyes glowing. This thing opened a pair of large wings, as wide as it was tall and began to flap them. It took off and headed to the south toward that large indoor driving range and the baseball park. It was gone in a few seconds.
