A Little Bit of Slow in City Centre

This little guy, creeping through Kasugai Garden, sent a very powerful message to me and Thing 2, during a visit earlier this week: Slow down. And pay attention to the journey.

Coffee and Books

It was a rare and amazing morning. The kind that is so precious largely because it is so scarce. The kids are currently in an art camp, at the Kelowna Art Gallery and I have every morning this week .Entirely. To. My. Self.

Sassy Sask Follow-up

So I just know you’ve been waiting with bated breath to learn what I did with those Saskatoon berries I got last week.

There were so many tasty options (thanks for the pie recipe, Elaine) and I am definitely planning on visiting the Kekuli Cafe in West Kelowna for some Saskatoon berry bread pudding (thanks for the tip, Alice).

An Easy Cough Elixir

So I was a little bit down and out last week, having succumbed to a rather nasty June flu. Is it just me or are summer colds and flues much more miserable than their winter counterparts?

The Sassy Saskatoon

“Are these blueberries? Or cranberries,” I queried, knowing they weren’t quite the right colour for either.

“They’re Saskatoons berries,” the farmer’s market vender replied.

“Saskatoon berries,” I effused. “Saskatoon berries! Well, I’ll buy a carton.”

What I Wore This Rainy Wednesday

I’m not actually in mourning over the loss of our summer to (ahem) rain, clouds, and the occasional thunder clap and lightening bolt. But feel free to interpret my all-black garb, today, as just that if it pleases you.

That’s a Wrap

I just had to share my lunch with you today. It was so scrumptiously good, and this is coming from someone who went the majority of her life being an avocado hater.

For all your hard work…

And hard play…

For the example you are…

What He Wore Wednesday

Funny thing about being a mother: It seems I put more effort into dressing my kids most days than myself. And I have way more fun shopping for them than for me, a) because they’re so much cuter and b) you can buy so much more for the price of one adult article of clothing.

A Turn Round the Garden

I can’t remember if I’ve complained to you before about the size of our back yard. If not, it was only a matter of time, rest assured. It’s pretty much non-existent. It takes about three steps to run across – six, if your legs are small, but that’s not nearly enough space to let out as much energy as my Thing 1 and Thing 2 have.
