Here’s to You, Raise Your Glass for Everyone
Around the time my kids were really becoming aware that Christmas was on its way – Costco had been loaded with holiday paraphernalia for months, advertisements for the top toys of 2013 was were arriving daily and the Christmas lists were already as big as they were – something happened.

Can This Monday Be Saved?
This Monday has lived up to its manic reputation. A long, cranky, everything-going-sideways sort of day.
But this morning. Oh, this morning started with the most beautiful shroud of mist hanging over the park near my house. And the autumn colours were virtually luminescent through it. Be still my heart.

What I Wore
I’m doing a new twist on The Pleated Poppy’s What I Wore Wednesday theme. Instead of showing you what I wore ON Wednesday, I’m showing you, on Wednesday, what I wore… at some random point in the previous week. Mr. Pear Tree at The Cat
What? You mean I haven’t told you? (Oh, that’s right, I haven’t been blogging much AGAIN!) Mr. Pear Tree has had his art – selections of his 100 for 100 project – hanging at The Marmalade Cat Coffee Shop this month. A Birthday Tea
We recently celebrated Thing 2′s fourth birthday – a most auspicious year, as far as I’m concerned because it’s like they become “real” children without even a hint of toddler or baby left (bitter sweet).

Posterity and All That
Okay, I’m going to admit it: I’m one of those mums who would much rather be behind the camera than in front of it. I don’t like being confronted with my personal body issues, frozen and preserved for posterity (linking up with What I Wore Wednesdays is one way I’m confronting my neurosis and just “doing it”). But I do know that, for my family – my children, especially, but also my husband and other loved ones – me actually being in pictures, at least some of the time, is important.

Motoring
It’s an old tradition. One that doesn’t seem to be practiced much these days. What with time crunches, not to mention the high cost of gas…
But recently the Pear Tree clan indulged in the art of the Sunday Drive.
