Trial Associate (#569)
Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking a 3rd-5th year (2015-2017 JD) litigation associate to join the Trial Department in our Minneapolis office. This associate will have the opportunity to work in all phases of business litigation, from pleading through trial and appeal. This position would involve significant responsibility over pending cases, in-court experience and active trial and motion practice. Specifically, this associate will handle the following types of tasks for complex litigation matters:

The following qualifications are required:
A JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Three to five years of business litigation experience
Minnesota bar admission, or the ability to be admitted to the Minnesota bar

About the Role…
Beech-Nut Nutrition Company is currently seeking temporary Health Screening Assistants to assist with temperature screenings for associates, vendors, and visitors who are entering the Beech-Nut Nutrition facility. The Health Screening Assistants will administer the test using a no contact forehead thermometer and will record the results. The successful candidate should be comfortable coming into contact with people in taking their temperature and collecting necessary information.
Proper PPE gear will be provided by Beech-Nut.
What You’ll Do…
Administer the test using a no-contact forehead thermometer
Record the results on the designated form
Ensure screening station, equipment, and environment are clean and sanitized
What You’ll Need…
High School Diploma preferred, but not required
Medical field experience including EMT training, HHA certification, or similar experience preferred, but not required
Able to start work immediately
Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed

Much like the federal government implementation of Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act in 2014, New York State can follow suit and enact 7% requirements in employment. By implementing hiring levels for state contract holders and state agencies, businesses will look to hire more individuals with disabilities. New York Corporate Associate or Staff Attorney (#565)
Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking an associate attorney or staff attorney with at least two years of legal experience to join the Corporate Department in its New York office. Job Description:
FUNCTION & SCOPE:
Under the general direction of the Accounts Payable/Purchasing Manager, perform diversified clerical and accounting duties such as processing of vendor check activity, distribution of vendor checks, and input of invoices for payment. Job functions are performed within established procedures under general guidance and supervision.
DUTIES:
Responsible for the review and distribution of the daily AP vendor checks. This includes monitoring the email box Vendchecks and handling special check requests.
Input and monitor accounts payable invoices in the Oracle Accounts Payable module for all corporate office activity, campus activity and any affiliated activity. Obtain supporting documentation from campuses and gather second signatures for all payments over $100K.
Monitor the Vendchecks mailbox for incoming campus wires. Process wires in the AP module and run Visual Compliance on all foreign wires and checks.
Modify payment batches as requested by campuses (pulling payments, changing routing of payments, etc.).
Process P-card reconciliation charges.
Perform stop/cancel/reissues of payments as requested.
Assist with providing AP training to campus and Central Office staff.
Contribute to and participate in Internal Controls process for accounts payable and purchasing.
Performs a variety of administrative assignments, including filing, mailings, answering phones, mail sorting and preparing FedEx/UPS requests.
Contribute to a work environment that fosters teamwork and cooperation; where employees can prosper; find rewards in their efforts; and, be continuously challenged to improve the performance of the organization. Represent the Finance Office with a positive professional image.
Other duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable/Purchasing Manager.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associates degree or 5 or more years progressive experience in clerical functions including experience in accounting or accounts payable. Working knowledge of Excel and Word software applications desirable.

NY ABLE and Opportunity for NY with Disabilities

Journey Along the Erie Canal | 1st Mile Challenge 2020
Today, we talk to Jean Mackay of Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor about the inspiration for the 1st Mile Challenge and where it is going in the future. Doug Hamlin and Andrea Robinson share about why we cycle and who inspires us through the years!
Since 2013, Journey Along the Erie Canal has grown to include thousands of individuals with disabilities, community leaders, and allies who meet John and his team, cheer them on, and even cycle alongside them.
In 2021, John Robinson, CEO of Our Ability, Inc, will handcycle all 360 miles from Buffalo to Albany to raise awareness of the needs of people with disabilities.This year John and his team to invite people with disabilities and their families and friends to join them for the 1st Mile Challenge, as part of the Canalway Challenge.
