For the summer of 2020, I'm looking forward to new releases by Marisa de los Santos, Julie Buxbaum, J. Courtney Sullivan, David Mitchell, Chanel Cleeton, Imbolo Mbue, Brit Bennett, and more. I love reading every time of year, but summer just may be my favorite season. This year is shaping up to be a good one!(less)

I hope that helps! (less)

Confessions of a former book hoarder

A few years ago, I was frustrated by the sheer volume of toys and knickknacks that Buddy Man had accrued over his few short years of life. His closet was packed, every bin that I had purchased to strategically corral items was overflowing, and I didn’t know where anything was. I was determined to get a handle on it.

One day, I forced him to confront it all, prompting him to let go of things that h

“A good book, when we return to it, will always have something new to say. It's not the same book, and we're not the same reader”
Anne Bogel, I'd Rather Be Reading: The Delights and Dilemmas of the Reading Life

“People read for a multiplicity of reasons. Nearly forty years in, I can tell you why I inhale books like oxygen: I'm grateful for my one life, but I'd prefer to live a thousand --and my favorite books allow me to experience more on the page than I ever could in my actual life.”
Anne Bogel, I'd Rather Be Reading: The Delights and Dilemmas of the Reading Life

“When we share our favorite titles, we can't help but share ourselves as well. Shakespeare said the eyes are the windows to the soul, but we readers know one's bookshelves reveal just as much.”

Amber Anne, what was the book you read when your son was sick? You mentioned it in your book. You took it with you because that was what was on your nightstand at the time.

Susan C Anne! A big shout out for adding me to your friends list!!! I am so grateful! Your podcast is wonderful!!!

Dobi_85 Thanks for adding me! I love your podcast and blog!

EssentiallyMeagan Thanks for the add! I've been binge listening to What Should I Read Next this week, and now my "To Read" list is out of control haha!

Molly Thanks for adding me Anne - and Happy Anniversary. I also want to thank you for creating a podcast that is fun and accessible. So many are...pompous :-) I like to read ALL sorts of sorts, not just the high-brow "Let them know I am an intellect" stuff! I don't feel alone anymore in my love and nerdom!
