Daily Book Challenge: Day 26
Day 26 – A book that changed your opinion about something
I’m not 100% sure it was just this book that changed my mind. I think a big part of it is my job, and what I see happening to people’s bodies, in particular if I know they’re not making the healthiest choices. And, that being said, I believe in personal accountability – it’s my fault if I cram nothing but cake and ice cream down my gullet, no one else’s.
That being said, I have been watching lots of shows on nutrition and this book made...

Daily Book Challenge: Day 25
Day 25 – A character who you can relate to the most
I find I can empathize with most characters when I’m reading them. There are definitely characters I don’t relate to very well, but in terms of “Oh, we’re so alike!” I’m probably a strange hybrid between cartoon characters – like Diara and Donald Duck or something. Literary characters are too sophisticated for my ilk.
Hey, we’re coming down to the end of this challenge! I have a few more things, then I’m going to actually have to think up some...

Daily Book Meme: Day 24
Day 24: A Book You Wish More People Would have Read
Like violent urban fantasy? Check out J.A. Garland’s work.
I’ll try to leave fellow WOTI people alone for the next few days… I need more variety in here.

Daily Book Challenge: Day 23
Day 23 – A book you wanted to read for a long time but still haven’t
I will get on it. Soon. It’s on my ereader… but I’m getting new loanable books next week…
And I’m back on schedule. Sorry I’ve been so unfaithful, long story short: One of the guys at work found a kitten the other day, and had an allergic reaction to it, so they kept it at my place until one of the other medics was able to foster. So, Dodger had a little friend for a bit. No excuses other than… kitty.
Daily Book Challenge: Day 22
Day 22 – Favorite book you own
This is not my favorite book – but I have a copy on my phone, my kobo, and I have it in print.
I’ve been betaing R.J.’s stuff for a while – and he’s won contests and appeared in anthologies way more than I have.
Even though all I did was look over the draft, tell him what I thought, he took or left it, and then pointed out the publisher to him, I feel very proud that this book got published.

Daily Book Meme: Day 20
I’m almost caught up – yay!!
Day 20 – Favorite romance book
I don’t like romance novels as a whole – I find it’s really hard to keep the focus on ‘will they won’t they’ when it’s very obvious that they will – we’ve tended to stay away from tragedies in today’s culture as a whole. I like romance in books that have a plot going for them, and even if it’s obvious who the couple is, so long as we’re not being teased with, “He spied on her bathing, the thought of which would normally make her embarr...
Daily Book Meme: Day 19
Day 19 – Favorite book turned into a movie
The Lord of the Rings
I like the Lord of the Rings, even though I’m definitely not the biggest Tolkien Purist – which is probably why I enjoy the movies so much, even though I’ll be one of the first to admit that they have their flaws. I think adaptation is tricky, because oftentimes, even with stories that have relatively universal stories and characters, the age of the work does show, and most film makers need their films to be viable in a current ma...

Daily Book Meme: Day 18
Playing Catch-Up. Go check out this post, I wrote it last minute last night after playing hooky to about a dozen emails (well, I’m on vacation, so technically…) , so hopefully I’m somewhat comprehensive.
Day 18 – A book that disappointed you
I started reading this series when I was in Uni – probably too busy to really be reading all that much, but I still tried. I lost interest in the first book (Rhapsody) until a friend of mine was going on about what a Mary Sue Rhapsody was. I picked it up ag...
Daily Book Challenge: Day 17/New Book Tour
Sorry I’m now a few days behind on this challenge – but, my sister is moved, and I got one final kayaking in yesterday. I might make more – but I go back to work on Thursday and life has a habit of getting away with oneself. I never thought I’d be the person who decides to take a morning to catch up on emails.
In other news – I’m doing another book blog tour. Check out herefor the schedule – hopefully I’ll get a few good reviews (of which I mean both good and bad – maybe critical is the more o...
