Gemma Brocato on Playing with Fire and Research

Happy December, everyone! I know I haven’t been visible for most of it thus far and for that I apologize. Just putting out a lot of fires in RL right now. And speaking of “fire,” I’m delighted to welcome Gemma Brocato back to my blog with her newest release, PLAYING WITH FIRE. This is another entry in her Five Senses series, and it’s a spicy 5-star read. You can find my review on Amazon. In the meantime, please welcome Gemma as she shares a bit about the research that went into her “sizzling”...

New Release: Food for Poe by Mae Clair #Christmas #Cats #SweetRomance

In the U.S., it’s soon time for Thanksgiving, aka, “Turkey Day.” Personally, I’m partial to the stuffing, though I enjoy the main course and all the other trimmings, too. November always feels like a short month to me with Christmas looming around the corner.

No complaints though because Christmas is my favorite holiday. Not only do I enjoy December 25th and Christmas Eve, but I love the entire month of December. It’s like one long holiday with all the merriment, festivities, and spirit of go...

Mae Clair Presents: Common Writing Mistakes

Are you participating in NaNoWriMo? I’m disappointed I couldn’t work it in this year, but from past experience, I can say it’s a huge motivator. I wrote most of A THOUSAND YESTERYEARS during NaNo two years ago, and that book is now under contract, scheduled to release in April of 2016. I’m presently knee deep in book two, A COLD TOMORROW, which is why I opted out of NaNo this time around.

I know many of my friends are participating and I’m cheering on each of you! Rah-Rah!
I thought as the mo...

Back from Vacation by Mae Clair

It’s been a while since I was able to hop online and share a post with everyone—all for a good reason. DH and I took a six-day trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Although we’ve traveled a fair amount in the U.S., this was our first trip to the Dominican and our first outside of the country. It was definitely a learning experience, especially as relates to custom lines. The trip down wasn’t bad but coming back we did a lot of waiting….in customs, on the connector flight, at the airp...

Guest Blogger Staci Troilo on Alchemy, Michelangelo, and the Protectorate

I’ve got a super fun treat for you today with guest blogger Staci Troilo. We originally connected through Twitter and realized we had a lot in common: We’re both Pennsylvania girls and we both come from a strong Italian background. And, of course, we both love to write–and read. Staci’s latest release, BLEEDING HEART, is a fabulous 5-Star mix of supernatural and contemporary, political intrigue, history, familial bonds, mysteryand more. She’s written a really cool post about the basis behind i...

Mythical Monday: Ghost Ship, the HMS Eurydice by Mae Clair

October is a time when our thoughts easily turn to restless ghosts and apparitions. But phantoms aren’t restricted to dwellings only on land. Case in point—the tragedy of the HMS Eurydice.

A wooden frigate in a time when steam-propelled and iron clad vessels gradually commandeered the waterways, the Eurydice was converted to a training ship in 1876. The British Navy felt there was still benefit for their ratings to learn the...

Myth and Magic by Mae Clair on Bestseller Lists of Amazon and B&N

O! M! Freaking! Word!

Excuse me while I do cartwheels–or at least attempt to. I lost the knack for gymnastics back in my twenties, but the news I got today has me hopping around like a teenager.

Or an Energizer Bunny.

Or some mythical creature that has been magically rejuvenated by the wave of a magic wand.

I don’t usually blog on the weekends because I reserve that time for writing, but I so wanted to share this news. I can now say I have a bestselling book. Seriously, am I dreaming?

MYTH AN...
