Episode 35

“It’s this deck,” Journeyman Alfred Maris snarled. “He’s supposed to take her down to the end of this deck.”

“Who is he meeting? Duke RiBeld?” Durante Marino asked.

Maris clamped his mouth shut and refused to answer. Adonia Salgado braced herself for the pain from her bullet wound, then shook the journeyman by the collar. The long bullet gash on her arm tormented her for the abuse.

“Answer him!” she snapped.

“All right! Bloody hell, woman. Stop that!” Maris struggled against his captor, but...

Trying out Wattpad

I stumbled across Wattpad today and gave it a long look. The concept is along the same lines as what I've been doing with brassgriffin.com since the mid-2000s, except for the social network underpinnings.

I'm curious to try it, so I thought I'd start with Red Lightning and work my way through all the Tales of the Brass Griffin series and see how that goes!

Here's where I am on Wattpad: https://www.wattpad.com/user/Kummer_w...

Episode 34

Dr. Llwellyn raced down the carpeted stairs near the Duchess’ stateroom. His lithe elven physique, designed for long distance running, had put him several steps ahead of his companions. He headed down the stairs at a breakneck pace. Once he reached the hallway, he sprinted towards the fallen body of Captain Hunter.

“Anthony! Devil take it all! You never listen!” The doctor’s reproach was sharp, but laced with deep concern for his friend.

Dr. Llwellyn dropped his leather medical bag and knelt...

Two more chapters to my editor. That's 2600 more words closer to the end of Brass Griffin book #6! Talk about a long road getting from 'there' to 'here'.

Episode 33

Four spiders skittered through the open vent and rained down on Moira Wycliffe. Terror clawed at her. It tore open her resolve, bleeding her courage like a raw wound. Fear gripped her tight. It was as if icy fingers had wrapped around her ribcage. She fought for breath, her heart pounded loud in her ears. All she saw were the spiders. All she imagined was the burning pain of electricity. Abruptly, something deep inside her snapped.

Eyes wide, a shriek of mad rage ripped from her throat. She...

Making progress today

Almost 900 words in today on the next chapter. It's always nice when the words just flow out and onto the page. I love it when my Muse decides to cooperate!

Finally set up my Amazon Author Page

And it wasn't all that bad. I didn't use the most professional of all pictures I suppose, but I'll get a better one made later.

Episode 32

The clank of metal gears. A hiss of steam from a valve. The muffled sounds of water running through a pipe, turning a corner then leaving as fast as it arrived. A faint smell of stale sweat, like carpet that had been damp once too often, and the faint stench of burnt oil blended together in a foul alchemy. The result hovered in the air like a phantom. The Britannia sang sweetly to Moira Wycliffe. After a few minutes it woke the engineer from her stupor.

Her head felt like it was in a vice. Th...
