This is how I feel about self-promoting! Like a zombie eating rotting, raw meat!

One thing I’ve realized over the last year is that I love writing, but I hate self-promoting! Completing my first novel The Sity was a total blast, but then having to switch hats to the role of publicist has been miserable. I just don’t enjoy talking, commenting, or posting about myself. ARRRGGGGHHHHH!

I got my first “One Star” rating! I am officially an author!

Well, I got my first spiteful negative rating from a fellow competing self-published SciFi author. I feel flattered that he was so intimidated by my superior novel competing against his that he wanted to rate it poorly. Not to rant, but seriously, dude. Out of curiosity, I checked out his novel and wow it was a load of CRAP! I won’t name it, because that would mean. I just think that fellow self-published authors should try to support each other rather than do these fake ratings to make your...

Reviews!!!!

Below are some of the recent reviews of THE SITY (BOOK ONE) from Amazon.com.

"As an avid lover and reader of science fiction literature, I was truly excited to come across this book by Curran Geist. When it comes to the genre, I'm a girl who really appreciates the "godfathers" -- Phillip K. Dick, Ray Bradbury, Issac Asimov, Heinlein etc. I think what I appreciated most about "The Sity" was it's ability to be completely modern and relevant while still giving a nod toward the classics. "The Sity" is soft science fiction (with hints of fantasy) that meditates upon both psychological and sociological issues in a distopian (to put it mildly) alien future. You'll find yourself quickly invested in its main characters and their struggle for survival. If you're a science fiction fan then buying this book is a no brainer, and you can't beat the price and easy accessibility. You won't be disappointed!"

"All I can say is, if you like Sci-fi/Superhero type of stories, you'll love "The Sity". The more I read the more intense the story became, I got so caught up in it, it was very hard for me to put the book down. I could truly envision the characters, the scenes, and everything that was happening to them; the Author did such a superb job painting the story with his words. I could easily see this being turned into a movie."

"This edgy and smart sci fi thriller has the dark rainy feel of Blade Runner with a story line that is evocative of Logan's Run and even Hunger Games. The main characters are young wastrels struggling for survival in an alien dominated world. I don't want to give away any of the plot line, but I will say that while some of the action is predictable, much of it is surprising, thus keeping the reader off-balance and interested. The action moves very quickly and the dialogue is very contemporary (but even this 40 year old longtime sci-fi fan dug it). It's a fast read and great for an airplane flight, which is how I consumed it. Good fun."

"I MAKE IT A PRACTICE NOT TO UNVEIL CHARACTERS OR GIVE AWAY PLOT DETAILS WHEN REVIEWING BOOKS - THAT'S FOR EACH READER TO DISCOVER AND INTERPRET ON THEIR OWN!

First, let it be known that I'm not normally a big fan of the sci-fi or fantasy genre. A very good friend (Annie) excitedly talked about this story when she was reading it on her kindle. She was captivated by it (full disclosure; she's a huge sci-fi/fantasy geek and devours books like "food") and told me how it stood out from most others. She gushed about the young writer and his imagination. She wore me down and I read "The Sity" in a couple of days. Despite my preference for non-fiction, I must admit she was more than right. I loved it and I think you will too. It seems there are more stories and books to come - I'm excited to know that I'll be able to follow these characters further in their adventures.

As I titled this review, it was a very adventurous and fulfilling read (with "time" being our most precious non-renewable asset, wasting that time reading dissatisfying twaddle is a real bummer). With that said. I highly recommend that you get in on the ground floor with the author, Mr. Geist, and (just like Annie) devour "The Sity" will all possible dispatch. It is truly a satisfying meal.

Enjoy!"
