Three Tips for Successful Tapping Using The Tapping Solution App
I’m always so grateful when someone downloads The Tapping Solution App on their phone.
But in the back of my mind, I always remember one very important thing when they do…
If they don’t use it, it won’t help them.
It’s sad, but true. That applies to you too. And that’s the absolute last thing I want for you because I know how incredibly powerful the results are with this app!
So here are the 3 basic steps to take to start getting results in the app…
Step #1 – Open the App
Just look for the icon on your phone that looks like the one shown below. Or if you’re on your phone now, just go here to open it now.
Step #2 – Connect With What You’re Feeling or What You’re Biggest Challenge is Right Now and Pick a Topic That Fits That Challenge
A lot of times, people don’t know what to pick because they don’t know where to start. First off, there is no wrong or right answer for where to start. Just trust your gut.
But to get you going, here are a few questions that can help:
What is the biggest issue that you’re dealing with right now?
What is the strongest emotion you’re feeling right now that you’d like to release?
What area of your life is causing you the most stress right now?
Use the answers to those questions to help you pick a topic. Here’s a gif that will give you a visual on what it looks like when you pick a topic in the app…
Step #3 – Follow Along and Tap
If you’re new to Tapping, you might be thinking, “But how do I tap?!”
If you want a visual you can watch this super simple 5-minute video to see how to do it.

How Stress May Be Limiting You in THREE Major Ways…
We tend to wear stress as a badge of honor in our modern culture, except that it has been shown to be an underlying issue that negatively impacts so many different areas in our lives.
In this post, I want to show you how stress may be limiting you in THREE major ways…
#1 – Stress may be causing you physical pain
When you feel stress, your body tenses up. Your facial muscles tighten. Your breathing becomes more shallow.
Over time, this ends up causing chronic stress and with it often comes… chronic pain.
To get a better sense for how this works, imagine holding a tight fist (you can even try it right now).
If you hold it for 20 seconds and release, no big deal. But if you trying holding it for an hour, your hand will likely be in so much pain you’ll struggle to open it.
That’s what happens with stress in the body. The longer you hold it, the more your body tightens and the more pain you feel.
The good news is, Tapping has been scientifically proven to stop the stress response, allowing the mind and body to relax and go into a state of healing.
Just think about that fist releasing. Once it relaxes, it gets the chance to loosen up and the body will naturally heal it, allowing it to move normally again.

#2 – Stress may be limiting your ability to think clearly and make good decisions (Yikes!)
Whenever you’re feeling stress, the amygdala in your brain fires. The amygdala is best known as the brain’s fear center.
Whenever you are feeling stressed, the “flight, fight, or freeze” response is triggered, alerting other parts of the brain and body that it senses danger.
This is a very old mechanism in the brain that has kept us safe from our most primitive years. (Just think of a caveman being chased by a tiger and you’ll get the sense of how life-saving it has been for us!)
The challenge is that today, whenever our fight, flight, or freeze response is triggered, the prefrontal cortex, which is the more modern part of our brain that is responsible for logic, reason, and decision making, is limited.
An example of this is when you think of one of the most common fears people have… speaking in public!
Very often when people have to speak in public, they tense up as their fight, flight, or freeze response is triggered and they’re unable to remember what to say. That’s because their prefrontal cortex is literally going offline.
So ANY stress that you feel, limits your brain’s ability to think, remember, and make decisions. The more stressed you feel, and the more often you feel it, the more limited your thinking is.
The good news is that with Tapping… you can release the stress and bring the prefrontal cortex back online.
So essentially the more you tap, the more you release stress… and the better you think.

Who Believes in Tapping?
If you’ve heard of Malcolm Gladwell’s book, “The Tipping Point,” you know it’s about that moment when something small happens that tips the balance of things, and suddenly an idea, a product, or a phrase, goes viral.
It’s intriguing to me how this happens. (I mean, who can explain why some random silly posts go viral on Facebook with hundreds of millions of shares?)
Gladwell explains that one of the factors that leads to a tipping point is the conditions and circumstances of the times and places in which they occur.
Which leads to my question…
Has Tapping reached the Tipping Point?
In a fairly short time, Tapping has gone from being seen as a weird mind-body modality to being a highly-respected, researched, and proven technique. Along the way, it has become the go-to tool for millions of people around the world.
It’s not hard to see how the conditions and circumstances of the times have led to the massive wave of people who are Tapping, getting results, and excitedly sharing it with others.
We were all in need of an easy, effective way to manage the stress and negative emotions that were making our lives so hard. At the same time, we were awakened to the fact that our minds and bodies work in tandem, and that we required a tool that would address them together.
And it works!
Some of the biggest advocates are professionals across a wide range of fields. From each of their perspectives, the results they’re seeing confirm that Tapping offers profound emotional healing and resolution of the stress factors behind most of our problems.
Research backs them up, too. For those professionals, and for us, this is important.

Tapping with a Skeptic
I know that tapping on parts of your body may seem weird.
I know that talking about all this “negative stuff” seems counterintuitive to anything in the “self-help” field.
And I know it’s a seriously far stretch to believe that doing these things together can make a very real pain in your body disappear, or promote weight loss, or even allow something SO outrageous to take place like attracting money into your life…
But it DOES!
At some point in our not-so-distant past, it was also impossible to believe that man could fly in the sky, and space travel (or even just simple rockets) were considered science fiction up until the 1940s.
Now, they are considered commonplace in our modern lives, and like airplanes, have even become a necessity.
So how are all these things related?
Knowledge. It took knowledge of aerodynamics to crack the mystery of flight, and it takes knowledge of the body’s physical, emotional, and energetic connections to promote health and abundance.
The ironic thing is, this knowledge has been around for thousands of years already, and meticulously documented in Chinese medicine.
But if you don’t know any of this, it’s easy to be skeptical of Tapping, and some people just need to experience it to believe it.
Here’s an amazing video from one of my stage talks where you’ll see a skeptic tap on pain (and release it!) right before your eyes.
This video is also a great example of how Tapping can still work, even if you don’t believe in it.
So for the next skeptic you come across, share this video with them and see if it encourages any shifts for them to give it a try themselves.

Releasing Anxiety with EFT Tapping
We all inherited some hard-to-shake programming from our ancient ancestors, including our response to stress.
Their stress involved coping with life-or-death situations from sabertooth tigers and other such threats, which thankfully they survived (or we wouldn’t be here!).
Our stress mostly does not.
But there’s a reason we still perceive the daily stressors in our lives as being just as threatening, and why so many of us have such high levels of anxiety…
Maybe you’ve felt it – the sense that things are about to fall apart, or that your mind is too crowded with distressing thoughts that prevent you from breathing, relaxing, and sleeping…
According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States age 18 and older, or 18% of the population.
Luckily, we’ve come a long way in our understanding of how our ancestors’ fight-or-flight mechanism remained with us, and even more importantly, what we can do to fix it.

Your Programming
You may have heard of the amygdala in your brain. That’s where your survival instincts live.
When you’re truly in a dangerous situation, the amygdala perceives the threat and releases biochemicals that flood your body with the mental and physical energy you need to fight or flee it.
But what about when you’re not truly in danger?
Unfortunately for many people, that ancient survival instinct kicks in anyway. Everyday stressors are all it takes and their anxiety is off and running.
Sometimes it doesn’t take much – like a traffic jam, a rude barista at the coffee shop, or just being too busy. But there are also big ones, which may not be life-threatening, but can seriously trigger our anxiety. These include things like:
Health
Money
Job pressures
Painful memories
Relationship concerns
The world!
When your body constantly goes into fight-or-flight mode, you lose your sense of control. You lack the peace of mind to deal with a situation as effectively as you might. You become exhausted, distracted, and at some point, unhealthy.
In fact, according to Harvard Medical School, “Evidence suggests that people with anxiety disorders are at greater risk for developing a number of chronic medical conditions.” They state that these include gastrointestinal disorders, chronic respiratory disorders, and heart disease.
This is no secret. That’s why the market is booming with individuals and organizations doing their best to help you alleviate your anxiety. They know how important it is in the scheme of your overall health.
Maybe you’ve already tried some of their (and your own) techniques such as:
Practicing meditation, deep breathing, yoga, etc.
Exercising regularly
Cutting down on caffeine or alcohol
Diffusing essential oils
Recording your honest feelings in a journal
Getting massages and other types of bodywork
Taking hot baths
Talking to someone you trust
Those are all wonderful ways to temporarily relieve your anxiety. If you do practice any of them, I want to congratulate you for taking an active role in your own health and wellbeing!
But what if you practice one (or all) of them faithfully, and you still suffer from anxiety more often than you think you should?
This is where Tapping does what other techniques can’t do.
Tapping rewires your brain, which means it short-circuits the amygdala’s response so you don’t have to continue feeling like a victim to your programming anymore.
In other words, Tapping helps you get to the root of the problem, which is the only place where you can truly eliminate it.
How It Works
Anxiety is brought to life at particularly stressful moments. Without our prehistoric programming, we’d be able to more easily recognize each event’s actual level of threat, deal with it in the moment, and file it away in the knowledge and wisdom part of our being.
But when your nervous system has become overly sensitized due to past events and emotions, your programming kicks in and new anxiety gets added to your already overloaded system. You feel ambushed, again and again.

When I first started The Tapping Solution, there were lots of people who were asking for the scientific validity of the effectiveness of Tapping.

What a Wonderful Year! Thank You!
I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season!
I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for joining us this past year on this amazing journey of growth, healing, and human evolution. The results I’ve personally witnessed in the past year have been nothing short of ASTOUNDING.
It is a joy to be able to read one email after another from people who have had amazing breakthroughs with healing old traumas, busting through limiting beliefs, releasing pain, and much more.
It is your commitment to change, to living the life of your dreams that makes what I do possible, and I’m very grateful for that.
This past year has been quite a ride, starting with the Tapping World Summit that over 100,000 people attended! If you missed it, don’t worry, the next one is right around the corner, beginning February 25th.
After the Summit, many of you continued to get amazing results with tapping by joining us in the Tapping Insiders Club.
We also reached a HUGE milestone this year by releasing The Tapping Solution App, a dream of mine for years, that’s helping to get Tapping into the hands of everyday people around the world!
Your financial support for tapping has enabled us to do so massive social good this year as well, raising TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars for organizations like Charity: Water, The Tapping Solution Foundation, and the Veterans Stress Project.
Oh, and I almost forgot, we continue to donate copies of our books to veteran’s hospitals, prisons, schools and more, and we’re seeing it have a profound impact.
It’s hard to express my gratitude through a blog post for this work and for every one of you out there reading this, tapping, healing and growing with us…
So all I can say is thank you! Keep tapping. It works, it works miracles, it works wonders…
But you have to do it. During this busy holiday season, chose a different possibility for your life. Choose to let go of old hurts and patterns and fill that space with love, hope, and healing.
I’ve included a short tapping script below that might help with this!

Holiday Tapping Script
(If you’re new to the tapping process you can learn more about it here.)
Karate Chop: Even though I’m overwhelmed by everything that is going on this holiday season, I deeply and completely accept myself
Karate Chop: Even though I’m stressed out because I have way too much to do, and not enough time, I deeply and completely accept myself
Karate Chop: Even though I’m frustrated with the craziness of the holidays, I chose to relax now
Eyebrow: Way too stressed out
Side of the Eye: Too much to do
Under Eye: I’ve got way too much to do
Under Nose: And not enough time
Under Mouth: There’s just not enough time
Collarbone: And it’s stressing me out
Under Arm: Too many presents to buy
Top of the Head: Too many people to see
(Continuing through the points again…)
Eyebrow: Why do the holidays have to be so crazy?
Side of the Eye: It’s nuts!
Under Eye: But I can choose to relax now
Under Nose: I can choose to relax anytime
Under Mouth: I can choose to let go
Collarbone: I chose to enjoy this holiday season
Under Arm: I chose to notice the love, joy, and peace around me
Top of the Head: I chose to create love, joy, and peace around me
Take a deep breath…
And let it go…
What came up? If there’s something specific that’s bothering you, tap on that. Remember, the more specific you can get on your issue the better. The above is just to get you started.
Spend another 5 minutes (I know you don’t think you have the time, but you do – make YOURSELF a priority) and continue to tap down any stress, anxiety or worry you might be feeling.
I’ve just come up with a new rule for myself around tapping that you might enjoy…
“Don’t stop tapping unless the issue is at a ‘3’ of intensity or less…”
So keep going until you bring at least one primary challenge down significantly. You’ll thank yourself for it later!
