SO EXCITED to read Why We Came to the City and introduce Whit Stillman’s classic film, Metropolitan! It is one of my all-time favorites, and a great companion to the novel. Please join me on March 9th at 7 PM at the County Theater in Doylestown, PA for an event with the wonderful Doylestown Bookshop!

I think "The Unchangeable Spots of Leopards" was genius. I've never read something so rich with detail yet extremely enticing at the same time. Truly a work of art. Can you recommend me any books similar to that of the former? I'd love to read them. Thank

First, thank you so much for saying that about Leopards, and for reading in such a heart-felt way. I thought of a lot of great books as I was writing it, but some are: If On A Winter’s Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino, Edwin Mullhouse by Stephen Millhauser, Anagrams by Lorrie Moore. These all have the kind of love of language and storytelling that I admire! Karen Russell is another long time favorite of mine (and a former classmate).

And my new book Why We Came to the City comes out in two weeks, and hopefully it does all that and more! Thanks again!
